Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments Great picks, Kat! The zombie one is really interesting. If a Zombie sees the sea or eats salt then they will return to their graves to lie in eternal peace. I will have to remember this during the zombie apocolypse. Hopefully it will work. ;)

Uhmmmm... what about if the zombie apocalypse is caused by a virus mutation like in Feed by Mira Grant or in Resident Evil? I think it only works on the real zombies, the ones created by witches or necromancers where the victim has to die first... if the zombie is the result of an infection, there is no grave...

Ok I finally got a partial list going. I am going to try option 2A. I am sitting here LOL at myself cause this is so far out of my norm and I have absolutely no clue what a lot of these creatures are LOL So I am kinda looking at everyone else's list finding creatures I might like. Please take no offense to this next statement it isn't intended to be mean or bad: I have found myself going through the kindle freebies everyday purchasing these WEIRD (to me) books going hmmmmmm I wonder if I will find something in this book to fit that challenge :D. Click and it is bought lol. Now I am wondering "what the heck were you thinking when you took this challenge on and going with option 2A instead of spelling them out?" OH well, just forgive me if I steal a book from you or ask stupid questions because I know it is coming lol.

Yes, Sonia! Wiki has this to say about shades:
In literature and poetry, a shade (translating Greek σκιά, Latin umbra) can be taken to mean the spirit or ghost of a dead person, residing in the underworld.

JC (jmnc) | 93 comments Lisa Kay - should the mythical creature be something that is known through our "real life" myths (such as mermaid, dragon, vampire) or can it be a creature only known within the "world" of the book/series we are reading? I just finised a Black Dagger Brotherhood book and would like to use either "lesser" or "The Omega", but these are creatures only known in these books.

message 150: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Great question, JenC.! I would say the latter; it can be a creature known within that author's world.
