How do you pronounce "Tobias"??

My friend told me she pronounced it like (Toe-bye-is) but I pronounced it like (Tobee-is) how did you pronounce it??

I pronounce it "Toe-Bye-Us" but I am sure it has many different pronunciations.
I used to pronounce it Toe-bee-us, but now I pronounce it Toe-buy-us.
Veronica actually came to our town tonight and while she was answering questions she pronounced it (toe-bye-us)so if you want to pronounce it how she does then thats it!

my ex called himself toe-bye-is
I call him Toe-bee-us
In my head it was like the German name, Toe-bee-aas.
I heard this on audio, it's pronounced Tah-Bi-Us, hope that translates well. If not, the "O" is pronounced like an "a"

I usually pronounce it TOE- BYE-US. In my opinion, it sounds better than TOW-BEE-US, but that's just me. I have absolutely no idea how to pronounce it correctly though. Veronica Roth did say in an interview at some point, but I don't remember how exactly. I guess it's because I've been brainwashed with how I pronounced it throughout the whole book.
um I say Toe-BYE-us. I didn't know that there could be a debate about the pronunciation. I've known of several people named Tobias and they all pronounce it like I do...
In English it's To-BYE-us, and it's a real name. It's what the nickname "Toby" is usually for.
According to behindthename.com, there are two pronunciations:to-BEE-ahs (German)
tə-BIE-əs (English) (the upside down e is pronounced like the a in about.)
I say toe-BYE-us.

People pronounce it Toe-Bee-Us because Tobias can to shortened to Toby so people assume you just add an Us to Toby.
Toe-bye-us, that's what my computer says.
I say Toe-bee-us because that's how it is pronounced in spanish.
I pronounce it as toe-bye-us. But im sure theres many ways to say it. :)

its TOBYEUS. Its actually a name from the bible. thats how they say it.

Well I'm from the UK.....and I don't know ANYONE who pronounces it like Toe-BEE-us......to be honest, I think I'd laugh at them!

In America the pronunciation can go either way I guess, but it's more often pronounced as "Toe-Bee-us". (Having "Toby" as a nickname, like what Charlotte mentioned above.) I've actually hardly ever heard it has "Toe-Buy-is/us".
Toh-bai-uh-s is the right way to say his name.

It is right in any way, it just differs depending on many factors like your first language and country of origin... For example, i say Toh-bee-us because that's the pronunciation in Spanish, and i know it is also like that in German, Italian and a bunch other languages. And I'm pretty sure people whose first language is English pronounce it Toe-bye-us... And i can't stop pronouncing it like that. It's like for example if i tell you Jasmin, you all pronounce it like "Yas-min" but what if i tell you something like the correct pronunciation is "has-min" you wouldn't say it ever like that because you are too used to saying it the other way.
So just pronounce it whatever the heck you want, but don't go around saying people are stupid because they don't pronounce it like you do.
I have a cousin called Jasmine, and I pronounce it like JASMINE!!! lolI don't really get your point, because if someone corrected me, I'd feel stupid AND I would start using the REAL pronunciation!
I don't mean to call people 'stupid'. I'm just truly SHOCKED that no one has ever heard that name before to pronounce CORRECTLY!!!
If someone still said it like Toe-bee-us AFTER I corrected them - then I'd still probably laugh in their faces.....sorry!
