2012 May Pick It For Me! Challenge
Finished my second book To Kill a Mockingbird and I really did like it. Don't know why I waited for so long to read it. Thank you, Tiffanny, for giving me a much needed push to finally read this great classic!

Sometimes you just need a little fluff to make you smile ;) I hope to get mine read very soon, work has been insane this month!
I just finished Too Hot To Touch. I thought it was a cute story, but I just felt it was lacking. Maybe I've been reading too many romantic suspense lately. I could just see this book going in so many different ways I felt it was lacking =(

I finished Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman and I loved this book! I hope she comes out with more books, because this one was awesome! If you liked The Help, you'll like this book! I officially want to move to Savannah GA now :)

I just finished my first one from my list for the month, Bikini Season, and LOVED it! I didn't get to it right away because I had to finish some others that I had previously started, so it was a definite treat to read this book. It is about 4 friends who need to lose weight and have to deal with that in addition to the other problems life throws at them. It has romance as well as friendship, and is a really good book!

How about we start on Friday or Saturday?
I finished my third book Caine's Reckoning on Tuesday. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
I finished my third pick The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann. BTW, thanks Karen for picking a book by the FAC author! I love multitasking! =) I liked it well enough, but it seemed slow to me. Not sure if it was just because I was listening to the audio or not though because towards the end I was listening at double speed and it didn't feel or sound like I was. I will continue with the series, but I'm not in a hurry.
MountainKat wrote: "I finished my third pick The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann. BTW, thanks Karen for picking a book by the FAC author! I love multitasking! =) I liked it well enough, but it seemed slow to me. ..."I'm all about multi-tasking when it comes to challenges, too! :)
Megan L.I read One Reckless Summer, and I really enjoyed it. This was the first book I read from this author, and I'm looking to reading the rest of the series.
Thanks again!
Kate
I just finished
and liked it. Eve kind of got on my nerves with the way she treated Nadine and Peabody, but Roarke more than made up for it ;0)
I finished Charming the Highlander tonight.
Thanks for the recommendation Barbara. When would you like to start our buddy read of Blood Red?
Ruth Ann wrote: "How about we start on Friday or Saturday?..."I'll be ready to start later today if that's good for you
Hi Deei just finished reading insurgent, it was amazing. I loved the suspense, it just made me want more and more.
I'm going to read too hot to touch now.
Jojo wrote: "Ruth Ann wrote: "How about we start on Friday or Saturday?..."I'll be ready to start later today if that's good for you"

Glad to hear it!
I finished my fourth pick, Immortal in Death this afternoon. Thanks Karen for getting my back into this series - I loved it!
I finished
and of course I loved it! This is one of my favorite series! Although I wish she would pick Ranger already. This back and forth stuff is killing me! :)
Lady Allison wrote: "Wow, you blew through those! I'm glad you enjoyed them! Sometimes you just need a little fluff to make you smile ;) I hope to get mine read very soon, work has been insane this month! "Hi Lady Allison,
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to fit our buddy read in this month. I'm running a little behind in my reading, and the upcoming holiday weekend will likely make that even worse. It sounds like you're pretty swamped too though, so maybe it's for the best.
Thanks again for the great picks - I enjoyed all of them, and they slid so nicely into my other challenges!
Finished The Lies of Locke Lamora on audio I really liked it a few parts were slow but i was definitely pulled in... started on house cleaning just so I could finish the last 1/2 hr
I finished my fifth pick this month - Seducing Simon, a buddy read with ~KarenH~! I've got two more picks in line to read before the months over! I got awesome picks this month!! =)
MountainKat wrote: "I finished my fifth pick this month - Seducing Simon, a buddy read with ~KarenH~! I've got two more picks in line to read before the months over! I got awesome picks this month!! =)"Thanks, I'm glad you liked them! ;)
Finished my third book over the weekend Touch the Dark thanks for the push to get this off my TBR pile. Have to say this was just ok for me - felt kind of like I had ADD while reading it trying to remember all the characters and what sort of paranormal type they were. Still glad I read it.

No problem at all, Karen! I'm so glad you enjoyed your picks! Enjoy your holiday weekend :)
PollyannaJust finished my second pick
. I really enjoyed it and gave it 3 1/2 stars. I've never read this author before and will be looking forward to reading more in this series. I will not be able to get to my third pick this month, unfortunately. Thanks for all my picks. Both were new authors for me and I really appreciated that. Thanks again for my picks!!
Hi Ruth Ann - I finished Always last night - it took me a while because I had trouble keeping my interest going in it, I didn't think much happened - how did you find it?
Wow, you guys have finished several picks and I haven't even started mine. Sigh...hopefully I can get to it before the month is out.

Nelly, I read two of your picks and really liked them. Delirium was WAY better than the over-hyped Divergent. I had never heard of this book, so I'm really glad you recommended it. I have the next in the series on hold at the library.
I also read Dreamland. What a powerful book! This is something I want my daughter to read before she starts dating (which won't be for a LONG time (she's 7), but still... :-) ). Thanks again for recommending it. Sarah Dessen never disappoints.
Ana wrote: "I've finished "One Day" by David Nicholls. You read that fast! Yes, it was an emotional book. Most of my 5-star reads are very emotional and often tragic. I'm glad you liked it overall. Have you seen the movie? Not that great but I thought the actor who played Dex was pretty good.
Jojo wrote: "Hi Ruth Ann - I finished Always last night - it took me a while because I had trouble keeping my interest going in it, I didn't think much happened - how did you find it?"Hi JoJo--I haven't finished the book yet. I am really struggling with it. It's not grabbing my interest. I am going to keep reading and finish it. I will let you know what I think once I am finished!
Hey Jojo! I cut it close this month, for me anyways. Life has been crazy. However, I finally read
! I really enjoyed it. I gave it four stars because I loved the story, and the main couple, but a couple of times I found myself skipping pages to get to something more interesting. That being said I care nothing for political talk, so it was probably just my personal problem. Anyways, thanks for the recommendation! I kept picking that one up then deciding against it and reading something else, so your push really helped me finally start a new series! I'm looking forward to continuing with the next book the first chance I get!
Did you know?We recommended 668 different books this month!
We recommended 459 different authors!
We recommended 11 different books by Lisa Kleypas and we recommended them 15 times!
We must love Maya Banks because we recommended her books 17 times!
Of course, if we combine Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb, we recommended her 23 times using 14 different books!
Awesome stats! I am so impressed that you took the time to do that! And I know it took time!I just finished my sixth pick! Head Over Heels was just wonderful!! Thanks again ~KarenH~!

Forgot to update!Finished Forged in Fire for the buddy read and Hostage to Pleasure. Both very enjoyable.
MountainKat wrote: "Awesome stats! I am so impressed that you took the time to do that! And I know it took time!"It was a bit of work, but I think it's interesting. I've got a little bit of time to recover before I need to do the final tally of what we read :)

Thanks for the rec!
