Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Okay, I'm working on the rest of the book. I feel so stupid. I had the audio on 1/2 speed and the reader was driving me crazy, so I kept going to the paperback. LOL! Finally figured that one out. Duh!

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Susan's Answers to Lisa Kay’s Questions for Chapters 23 – 31

20. Uh. Don’t you think Dorian is grabbing Ashaya by the hair a lot? LOL! I guess, because I get migraines, I don’t want anyone messing with my head. Of course, I’ve always been that way; very finicky about who cuts my hair even; used to drive my mother nuts. Comments?
LOL I never noticed he was pulling her hair a lot. But I'm like you, Lisa Kay, I don't like people messing with my hair. My hair is naturally curly, like a brand new perm kind of curly, and it tangles easily. The kids in my class always want to play beauty shop and have me be a customer and I NEVER play that with them LOL

21. Keenan is attracted to shiny things and the “predilection arose from the secret he carried within…” Whoa. Very curious as to what is going on with Keenan’s abilities. Comments?
When I read that, I was very curious about what he could do. I don't know that I ever figured out what his abilities are, but I do know what he carries within and I am not quite sure how it goes with liking shiny things

22. Book Quote: “I’ve decided not to kill you, whatever happens.” He released her. “I’ll just keep you in my personal dungeon instead.” When and how did Ms. Singh make a dungeon sound so appealing? LOL! Still, a weird thing to say to her, given her phobia about being underground. Comments.
Was he aware of her tremendous fear of being underground, or was he just not thinking or thinking her fear not to be so huge? But you know, since she's so scared of being underground, I'll gladly take her place in Dorian's dungeon. Just think of it as me taking one for the team ;0)

23. Okay. I’ll be honest and say I’m a little confused over the whole Zie Zen character. WTH? You?
This is what I got about Zie Zen...he's Keenan's father...and he's on the side of the rebellion? Maybe I need to reread this book right now and focus less on Dorian

24. Think Ashaya should – or will – do another broadcast?
yes I think she should so she can keep the momentum going.

25. Uh. WTH is up with Amara? We get an insight into her thought process in Chapter 26. So, they did put out a rehab order on her. Why rescind it? Keenan also knows this Big Secret That is Better Than the Implant; is that why Amara wants him dead? Or is it something else?
All I've got to say is if Keenan truly knows the BIG SECRET, shame on them for not keeping that from him.

26. WTH was with that Psy girl stumbling out into the road? She literally came out of nowhere – even in the storyline. Was the elite Psy guard that showed up in her house Vasic? If so, what did you make of his “tired” comment and Dorian’s response?
In my mind the Psy Guard that showed up was Vasic. As for that whole scene with the dead family, it did seem to come out of nowhere. Unless it was to show us that there are Psy who are breaking Silence. As for the Guard's comment about being tired, wouldn't that mean he's sort of broken Silence as well? To me, tired used that type of situation is more emotional than physical.

27. I would have disobeyed Dorian too, would you? Or do you feel he was right about being concerned for Keenan instead of him?
yep, I'd have disobeyed too

28. Who the hell are the guys in Chapter 29? Are they part of Psy, or just working for them? Are they with the unknown fraction?
I STILL DON'T KNOW!!! I don't know if they're human or the Pure Psy

29. What did you think of Faith’s visit to the safe place? Her revelation about Amara? Will Dorian be able to change into his changeling form before the end of this book? Geez, if so, I hope it is perfectly timed. LOL!
I hope, hope, hope he can turn before the book ends. (I know, but I'm not saying LOL) Faith's visit and revelation was interesting. I don't see how Amara will be able to continue to live and not be a danger to Ashaya, Keenan and Dorian

30. Amara has a syringe prepared with a LEATHAL dose of narcotic?! Yet Ashaya thinks she is not a killer? Comments.
I guess love is blind

HAHA I started reading Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger It was a copy that a friend sent me and it started on chapter 8. I read all of chapter 8, not realizing that was what chapter it was, and then read "Chapter 9". I started flipping through the pages and sure enough, chapter 1 started about halfway in. When I finally started reading in the right place it made so much more sense LOL

#20 – LOL! Well, there are two of us, then. ☺ I don’t have naturally curly hair (always think of Sally from Peanuts when I read those words together); however, when I was going through menopause my hair got really wavy. It was a neat change.

#21 – Interesting. I wonder if it is a future reveal.

#22 – ROFLMAO! Good of you, Susan. ☺

#25 – I’m almost to the end of Chp. 43… so I know that Big Secreat and all I can say is WHOA!

#26 – Yes, I think it was Vasic too. And I totally agree with you about his breaking Silence when saying the word “tired” – that is immediately what I thought of too!

#27 – Trollope!

#28 – LOL! Oh, Lord! Not every mystery answered then. No wonder you are chomping at the bit to start the next one.

#29 – I figure she isn’t going to make it.

#30 – LOL! Never thought of it with regards to one’s family, but I guess that is the biggest blind spot at times.

LMAO! Oh, dear! Yeah, that would help. LOL!

I still can't believe I listened to over half the book at 1/2 speed and didn't figure it out. **smacks forhead** It wasn't until I started putting in the narrator's name for the Audio Challenge over in RRRC that I realized I'd heard her b/f and LIKED her. I was, like, WTF? Then, of course, I had to spend about 30-40 minutes figuring out how to change the speed. That was simple, too, in the end. All I can say is (view spoiler)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments 20-hmmm I didn't notice it when I was listening to it but now that you mentioned it , I remembered that it happened a lot.
I don't mind hair grabbing I kinda like it in some situations [..blush ..] . I have super curly hair so usually keep it real short and as long as people don't try to run their fingers through my hair (their fingers will get stuck)I don't mind my hair being touched.
21-I think the whole Keenan ability thing was a bit vague , we'll probably never know the details!
22- again I didn't think of her phobia when I was listening to this part. my only thoughts were "oooooh .MY"
23. I was confused about him too and I was thinking there is something wrong here or something that hasn't been revealed .
25. I didn't like Amara and didn't like how things went for her!
28. Too many question were left unanswered !

#20 - Sounds cute. ☺

#21 - I've finished the book... and you are right, Shosho!

#22 - LMAO! Yes, I'll be honest and say yes... it wasn't until I started to type up the DQs that I thought about it. LOL!

#23 - Again, I think you're right.

#25 - Interesting.

#28 - Yes. Ms. Singh is evil. In a Deliciously Devious way. LOL!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Lisa Kay’s Questions for Chapters 32 – Epilogue

31. Some 17th birthday present, being tortured for science experiment. After learning all of what Ashaya went through in that grave, how do you feel about Amara’s character? At that point did you think there was any hope for a happy ending for Amara – or didn’t you care?

32. Whoa! Amara is Keenan’s mother? Was that a stunner? Or were you suspicious when you read about the photo of Amara holding Keenan as an infant?

33. What did you think of Amara’s plans for killing Keenan, in the name of science, when he was a fetus? Well, it explains why Zie Zen felt no bond with the little dude. Do you think his antibodies will come into play in a future book – way down the line? (Ms. Singh is young; after all, she has decades of writing potential.)

34. What did you think about Ashaya’s reveal that before Silence the Psy craved touch more than Changelings? Because it anchored them back to reality. Can you see that?

35. Book Quote:
“God, I love your skin.”

“My skin?” She glanced uncomprehendingly at her own arm when he rose from nibbling at her. “It’s brown.”

“It’s melted chocolate and coffee with cream, exotic as the fucking desert, and so damn erotic. I have wet dreams about you naked on my sheets, you skin smooth and hot from the sun’s rays.”

She swallowed, chest heaving. “You make me sound edible.”

He purred. “You are.”
Okay, I really liked that part. You? Or need I ask? LOL.

36. There are a lot of secondary characters in this book. Which one’s story are you looking forward to reading the most?

37. Is there a positive side to Silence? Is Ashaya right, and Psy should be given the chance to choose to hold onto it, if they want?

38. Whoa. Dorian came right out and said it. All the conflict he was feeling. Was he too brutal at the end of Chapter 39/beginning of Chapter 40?

39. Okay, where did Kalab get that marker? Did I miss that in one of the past books? Do you think either Kalab’s or Silver’s story will be about investigating further into the Pure Psy community?

40. O.M.G! Dorian! I wasn’t expecting that. Yikes! You can die within minutes – seconds – when a carotid artery is severed. At least Ashaya accepted the mating bond. Okay, was Amara helping her out there in that scene? Do you see any poetic irony in a sniper being taken down by a bullet?

41. Okay, let me get this straight. When Ashaya left the PsyNet, Amara followed? And in doing so, lost the DarkMind? Thank goodness again, for the Net Mind! Right? I really have a fondness for it. Do you think it will turn out to “be” someone, or is it just what it is? Comments.

42. Mercy’s wondering if wolves are good in bed? LOL! I think she’s going to find out in the next book.

43. What do you think of imbedding a chip into Amara to keep her on a leash – one that is tied to Ashaya for the rest of her life? How about Amara having access to the Web of Stars? Will she be an asset or remain a darkness in their web? Are you pissed she didn’t see justice, or do see that one twin can’t live without the other?

44. Okay, who the hell are the dudes at the end of Chapter 47?

45. Who really ordered the hit on Ashaya? Henry? (Do you believe him?) Was he working for himself or some off-shoot of the Council? And he thinks he doesn’t want power? What did he and Shoshanna have implanted in their brains? Or was the hit really ordered by the guys in Venice? Then who were the second group that came after Ashaya – the ones who wanted her alive? The Human Alliance? Are they human, or a combo? What is their agenda? Was the metal device embedded at the top of the dead man’s spinal cord the same thing Henry and Shoshanna have?

46. Man-oh-man! How cool was that epilogue? For a minute there I thought it wasn’t going to happen in this book. Great ending. Loved Keenan’s reaction. LOL! So, what did you think of this book?

message 61: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Too many questions? Too hard? Or, like Gisela's, just too many "I don't know" answers?

message 62: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Added hyperlinks to DQs in Post #2. In case we want to come back to these in future readings.

message 63: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments 31. Like shosho, I didn't like Amara. I didn't care if she got her happy ending.

32. I was stunned that Amara was Keenan's mom. I just though it was his aunt holding him.

33. I imagine his antibodies may come into play later on. However, I can't imagine Dorian ever letting anyone get near him to do any kind of research with him. As for Amara's thoughts on killing him for science...just another reason not to like her.

34. I can see that they craved touch, it makes sense. It also shows how they've gone to the extreme polar opposite, just to prove how silent they can be.

35. For me, Dorian has been the hottest of the heroes in this series, that quote is part of the reason why :)

36. Mercy's. She does have a book, doesn't she?

37. I can see a positive side to Silence in that it would help eliminate negative emotions and tendencies, provided it takes. But what if they're left to choose, and it's someone like Amara, and the Silence doesn't take. Then what?

38. I don't think he was too brutal. Ashaya knew how he was feeling, it was jut getting him to admit it.

39. I don't have a clue where he got it. And did we meet Silver before? I hope Kaleb has a book.

40. I was literally on the edge of my seat reading that! I do think Amara helped out there; not because she wanted Dorian to live, but she didn't want to loose Ashaya. And yep, poetic justice on the sniper bit.

41. I upset that Amara followed her into the Web of Stars. She has no place in there and I feel bad for Ashaya having to always keep tabs on her. I kind of think the NetMind just is.

42. OOOHHH! Is Mercy's book next? I usually don't read the summaries before hand on series's that I'm reading all of. I just pick the next book up and go cause I know I'll like it LOL

43. I kind of answered this in #41. I was upset that she'll always be in the Web. Maybe the positive influence will be good for her and she'll change. Who knows. I am pissed that Dorian couldn't have gotten rid of her ;)

44. I DON'T KNOW!!! Were they human or Pure Psy? I'm confused on that!

45. Don't know who really ordered the hit on Ashaya. It's possible several people/groups did and we just saw the ones that got to her first. Could Henry be a part of Pure Psy and Shoshanna not know? I was surprised by her thinking there was something wrong with him cause he's standing up to her. Maybe he got tired of her crap calling the shots LOL

46. I was sooo excited when he shifted!! I did love Keenan's reaction :) This was my favorite in the series so far. It's one that I would reread.

#31 – I did feel a little sorry for her. But just a tiny bit. Makes me wonder if it was her conditioning – even a little bit – and not just the way her soul was meant to be.

#32 – I had my suspicions!

#33 – Maybe when he is an adult. Yeah, Amara was definitely warped.

#35 – Yeah, and that was one of the hottest quotes, I thought. So, I had to add it to GRs database. ☺

#36 – I think she is next. Oops. Shouldn’t have told you that, b/c then you might jump ahead. LOL!

#37 – Excellent question.

#38 – True!

#39 – I don’t know, either. Clueless about Silver and Kaleb, too.

#41 – Hmmmm. I’m very curious about the NetMind.

#42 – I read summaries about ½ the time. I just read this one. Now, contain yourself, Susan! LOL!

#43 – LOL! I think he was a little pissed, too!

#44 – Ditto on the confusion. I guess this one is a “Read and Find Out”.

#45 – Yes, I was wondering about Henry – and Henry and Shoshanna’s relationship. Very strange. LOL!

#46 – Yes, it might even replace #1 in my heart. Of course, you always remember your first. ☺ The narrator did Keenan’s voice to perfection on the audio. The special age of 4 – between baby and child. Neat.

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments This book left a lot of unanswered questions. However the romance was very well done and Ms. Singh made me believe in Ashaya and Dorian's HEA. I think that some of the unanswered questions will be answered in the following books and new ones will pop up. Those hyperlinks are a great idea Lisa Kay! I have a feeling we'll need them!

message 69: by ShoSho , Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments Sorry girls I had a really busy weekend, I haven't had time to answer the Qs, just read yours.will answer them Tomorrow morning from work:D

message 70: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, Gisela, I concur! I completely believed Ashaya & Dorian's HEA. I think we'll only get some questions answered -- and more will come up. I really wonder who the ghost is?

message 71: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments That's okay, Shosho! I'm behind on one of my other "buddy reads" too. Just discovered a book I was supposed to review, and it isn't grabbing me. **sigh**

message 72: by ShoSho , Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments 31. I didn’t like her at all and I don’t like the fact that she is in the web of stars at all. She feels like an intruder in a private gathering.
32.I didn’t see that coming at all. Like Susan , I thought she took a picture with her nephew !
33.I don’t think we will see anymore of Keenan other than in mentioning his name just like Noor and Jon.
35. You don’t need to ask .I think Dorian is the hottest hero in the series so far .I’m guessing Hawk will be even hotter than him!
36. Well I really want to read Hawk’s story but he wasn’t in this book that much. I’m looking forward to read Mercy’s book.
37. Yeah it seems silence has a positive side for some Psy. Eliminating it might cause more problems.
38.I can’t remember what happened there!
39. I can’t member who Silver was. Kaleb is big mystery for me, can’t decide if he is good or bad
40 . I was listening to this part while I was in the airport and had to go through the gate to get on my connecting flight. I couldn’t decide what to do, stay and listen (and probably miss my flight) or get on the plane and wait for the take off to be able to listen to the rest!
Even if she was helping it was just for herself .
41. I think the Net mind is what it is , a being on its own. And about Amara ,do I have to say it again?
42. About the next book, why hasn’t she figure it out that the guy she is attracted to is her mate? Isn’t it an immediate realisation between the changelings?
43.hmmppp
44. Have no Idea, could they be the people who sent that email to Henry? Could they be human ?!
45.I think the hit was ordered by the guys in Venice , and could they be the same or associated with pure Psy thing?
46. LOVED LOVED the epilogue. It is my favourite book in the series, loved how they get to their HEA , their connection was believable and Dorian is hot :D

message 73: by Gisela, Moderator (last edited May 31, 2012 11:36AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Okay question:

Do you think it's possible Amara will be awoken to feelings sometime in the future maybe even get her own book? Or will she just be a huge rock around Ashaya's neck?

message 74: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I would hope she wouldn't just be a burden for Ashaya. Possibly she could awaken to feelings. And it would be cool for her to get her own book - show us how she's changed.

message 75: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments It would be nice, but I don't think it is going to happen. But, I've been wrong before. ☺
