Wrong First Published Date

Wuthering Heights has the wrong date listed as it's first published date: "(first published January 1st 1066)"

According to Wikipedia it was first published in December 1847.

Could someone please fix this? thanks! :)

Also, I noticed the book has the wrong amount of pages. It should be 431, not 416. I have this copy with the same ISBN number. Thanks again!

If a book has such a wrong date, it isn't very useful to only change the first published date, as it means in most cases there is an edition with a very wrong publishing date. If such an edition isn't corrected the first published date will change to the wrong one again. In this case I found the book with the 1066 date and one with a published date of 1818.

When I go to my stats and choose publication year, it shows that I've a book published in 210! I've tried to search through my books around the "read in"-time but can't find it. Any ideas how to find this failure?? There's also a book published 1389, I think it might be wrong too but 210 is for sure.

Go to "my books". Make sure you are on your "all" shelf. Select "shelf settings". Click "date pub" and then save.

Then you can click on the new "date pub" column to sort by original publication date to find the books.

Google Books still cannot be used as a source of book info, but we have earlier editions of the book here, and I combined them. The first pub date now defaults to the pub date of the earliest edition we have, which is 2008.

You only changed the original pub date, without finding the problematic edition. Fortunately, another librarian fixed the issue with the bad date. If she had not, the original pub date would just revert the next time any edits were done to editions of the work.
