Sally906 | 87 comments I never read Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson because I considered it to be a "boys" book. I have read it since in my 20s and loved it.

message 1714: by K (new)

Sadly none. My Mum didn't believe in hanging onto them. My books were always handed onto others to read once I had grown out of them.
What object other than books do you still have from childhood?

message 1739: by K (last edited Mar 02, 2015 01:03AM) (new)

K | 1143 comments I hate Bonds! Ever since that horrible woman sacked all the Aussie workers, sent all the production overseas where the products are much lower quality than before and yet cost the same as they did when still made in Aus, I absolutely refuse to buy that brand!!

What brands do you refuse to buy?

You just skipped my question, Dave. My answer to your question is Henry Cavill. He is gorgeous.

Again folks,

What brands do you refuse to buy?

David Menon (wwwgoodreadscomdavidmenon) Kiera wrote: "I hate Bonds! Ever since that horrible woman sacked all the Aussie workers, sent all the production overseas where the products are much lower quality than before and yet cost the same as they did ..."

It's political but I refuse to buy goods that have been made in Israel. I boycotted South African made goods during the dark days of apartheid too. I'm also careful about buying so-called 'cheap' clothing items like shirts because there's no such thing as a cheap shirt. Someone has paid for it somewhere and I don't want to support sweat shops that use child labour.

Do you think the Batman films are getting a bit too dark?

message 1742: by K (new)

K | 1143 comments No way! Batman is a dark character and I the latest films are very true this character. I love comic book films, but I love that they are no longer slapstick- type movies.

message 1743: by K (new)

K | 1143 comments Oh crap I forgot my question! Lol. It depends on if I am attracted to the guy or not.

Favourite of the last 3 Dark Knight films? (I LOVED the Heath Ledger one)

Have you seen the TV series 'Gotham?' If so, what did you think?

message 1745: by Suz (new)

What did you learn today?

message 1746: by K (new)

message 1748: by Ryan (new)

Ryan The monetisation of insecurity and loneliness.

A mixture of both I think.

Muffins - an invention on their own or just an excuse to eat cake for breakfast?

message 1750: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 87 comments A real muffin isn't cake - it's an English muffin which is great toasted for breakfast.
