As a reader, I prefer paperbacks. As a writer, I am pleased to have the opportunity to be published in both formats, although I sell more e-books.
At the risk of being boring! I completely echo what Rhonda has said.

But as a writer, I'm very happy to be able to provide both, especially since the majority of my sales come from ebooks. I think if I didn't offer that, I would be missing out on a big market of readers.

Plus it was after receiving the Kindle I decided to look into self-publishing since my novel had actually been finished for several years.

Also, I recently went away on a cycling trip for a week. Rather than having to lug around maps and the novels I am reading I just put them all on the iPad, which is much lighter and convenient.
I Agree with Kate too. Having some kind of e reader means you can read at night without the light on, so my partner prefers me to read ebooks now so that he can get to sleep!
