Grab a Buddy & Read a Book
Thanks Christine!! Hopefully Grad school, I'm waiting to hear if I've been accepted or not. If no Grad school then I'm on the hunt for a job. :D
Thank you Sandra, and Steph!! I'm hoping there will be another Book Shelf Bingo coming this summer!! ;)
Is there anyone who actually hasn't read
?I've ordered it and am expecting it by May 4th...anyone want to buddy read? I can't be the only one who hasn't read it.
I haven't read it and I'm something like 230 on the library wait list. I'm afraid this will be yet another book that everyone loves but me, so I don't want to pay for it. I did download the free sample, but haven't read it yet either.
I read a really good review of it and decided I wouldn't bother. I've read & loved plenty of BDSM but this sounded like it wasn't for me :)
Yeah, that series really shouldn't be chosen for the BDSM aspect (IMO), considering it's not a major part of the book. At least not like most of the BDSMs I've read. Sure, he's a "Dom" and has control issues, but the books are more about the dramas/relationship between the two. They were addicting to me though, which was good/bad. I couldn't stop reading them, but wished I could've. LOL!
Really interested in your thoughts when you're done, Julianne.
Buddy Read?
is due out @ 2 Oct. (Dorina Basarab Series by Karen Chance)
Anyone interested in joining me for a re-read (or 1st read) of
-
(#1-2) prior to that? Maybe in Sept, so there isn't a long wait until #3?
I'm in. It'll be my first read but at least I can knock off one series from my list. Sept should be great!
Yay! I'll go ahead and create threads now, even though it won't start for a while. I'll have to post a note on my calendar so I don't forget to read them. LOL!
I might join you, too. I've read her Cassie Palmer series, but I've never gotten around to this one. And may e by October I'll have cleaned up some of my other series so I won't feel bad about starting yet another one.
At least it's only the third book in the series that's coming out Christine. You aren't too far behind :)
Sandra wrote: "At least it's only the third book in the series that's coming out Christine. You aren't too far behind :)"True. And I usually like to wait until there are about three books out in a series before I start anyway. That way, if I like the first one, I can jump right into the next ones. Plus, I find it sometimes takes two or three books to really get hooked on some series.

I'd be up for a buddy reread of the first two before the third comes out. It has been a while since I read them and I need to catch again.

I'm usually like that too Christine but not with Dory. She had me right from the first. The fact that you know some of the characters if you have read the Cassie Palmer series helped me, but I justed loved Dory right off.
I can't wait for the next one to come out.
I read Cassie #1 as soon as it was released, same for Dory, and love them both. If I had to pick, I enjoy Dory a bit more. But, I adore Pritkin, so it's close. I'm just happy we have both and don't have to choose. :D

It took me about two years to finally go back and read the rest of the series. I'm glad I finally did, because I really enjoyed them (love Pritkin). I picked up the Dory books, but just haven't gotten around to them yet.
I have the same problem some times, Christine. All the time travel can get confusing, especially when you read them years (or close to) apart. I hope you enjoy the Dory series. Feel free to join us in Sept for the re/read of #1-2 in prep for #3. :)
I can't start any buddy reads until May 21st. Anyone interested in any of these books?
Plus I'm thinking of doing a series reread of Rachel Morgan by Kim Harrison, because I haven't read the two most recent releases:
Hi Sarah, I'm definitely interested in:
and Dead Witch Walking, I own both of these in hard copy and haven't had time to read them yet.
Hi Jeann! I'm so glad you're interested. We can start Kitty and the Midnight Hour and then read Dead Witch Walking. After we finish Dead Witch Walking if you want to continue the series we can do that and if you don't then that's fine too :DWhat day is good for you to start?
Oooh I think we have
the week of May 21st, so how about the week after for Kitty and the Midnight Hour? (or anytime after)

I just started on Night Huntress series and I ripped through the first three within days. I'm about to start
in a buddy read so want to read that before moving on to #2 which I haven't picked up yet.
Oh yay! Sounds good Sarah. It's a long weekend for me so I won't be able to start til next week, the 22nd or after. Let me know when is good for you.

@Julianne, tomorrow I will set up the thread for Delirium. I can't wait to start it on the 23rd!! :)
@Jeann, I would love to read Touched by an Alien, because I've heard such good things about it. But I know I can't get to it until sometime next month.
Jeann wrote: "Anyone still in for
?I should be free first week of June for this (starting June 4)"
I'd be in for that. And here I said I wasn't going to start any new series until I finished up some old ones. Oh well....
