March Read-a-thon: Progress and Reporting
My plan: To finish what I've started...Audiobook(s):
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - start: ch. 19 (20:24 mins left of ch.)
[currently at: ch 26 (19:44 mins to end of ch)]
Books:
Celebrity Detox - start pg.78 - ?
The Tuesday Club Murders - start pg. 142 - ?
Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution - start pg. 54 - ?
The Last Heiress - start pg. 54 - ?
My plan is, first, to finish the couple of books I have already started. Then, I am not really sure what I am going to read except The Dante Club, which is for my f2f book club in two weeks ... and I'm going to work on some books that are sitting on shelves here at home currently gathering dust.

I have thought about checking it out again but I have had so many other books to read that I just haven't. Let me know what you think after you read it.
I know if I list specific books, I'll just end up reading something completely different. The tentative plan is to work on finishing some of my mound of library books and hopefully get some of Nicholas Nickleby and A Game of Thrones read (for reading groups). Life has been a little hectic lately, but I'm hoping I can set aside some extra time to read during the read-a-thon and get myself a little more caught up.
My plan is to read as many of my YA review books as I can - I would like to have the stack completely done by the end of the ROT, but I don't know if that will be possible. I am going to give it my best shot, though. I am starting with Freedom Stone and Ashes today and will see where I go from there.
My goal is to complete 4 books. I am going to read the following books. I am going to go for 750 pages and 8 hours listened. To Finish:
The Hunger Games (39-267) finished
Good Girls Don't (2 hours 55 min left) finished
Dead Until Dark (36-292)
Ten Things We Did (10-194)
Frankenstein (16-274)
To Start:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone (12 hr 32 min) Started
The Girl in the Clockwork Collar (411 pgs)
Darkfever (255 pgs)
Good luck everyone! Now going to read for a few hours before I actually have to work while at work. :( Whoever invented work was not a smart person.
My big plan is to finish the books I am currently reading, which are (swallow) six at the moment. But knowing me I MAY start some more as I enjoy the reading marathon much more with good books that keep me hooked. SO if I can at least finish "a few" of my current books, it would be a great success. ;-)
This is my plan for this week; already finished one book today!***March Readathon Goals: 4 books and 750 pages***
~~Read/Listen to the Rest of:
Sapphique (page 109 - 462)

Nancy wrote: "...finally finished this Chunkster - 910p. (last 230p. during Read-a-thon)"910?! ouch! Congrats! That IS a chunkster! heh No doubt there are many similarly lengthy books out there but I'm pretty sure I've never read anything over 800 pages(probably was the fattest Harry Potter lol).
Looks like we have a contest between Barbara and Nancy for "Most Prolific Page-Turner" of the Read-a-Thon!
I love mysteries and found three of these chunkster mystery anthologies for next to nothing at a bargain store, and decided to try to finish one for the Feb/March 700-page chunkster challenge. They are really good stories by good authors and I enjoyed them all. Nevertheless, I am surprised I was able to do it with all the book reviewing I had to do in the past two months, but somehow I managed to get it done - with the Read-a-thon a good motivator to finish it!!
My job is really slow right now so I'm reading all day long though I'm not reading as much at night.
I wish I had a job that'd allow me to read all day, but alas I am confined to what reading I get done on weekends and nights after work. If I can finish reading two more books this week I'll be happy. Well done to Barbara and Nancy who seem to be in a field of their own this time around, heh!
I am fortunate enough to be retired so I can read during the day, and also fortunate enough to still be reviewing YA books. We are nearing the end of our reviewing season, so we are all reading as fast as we can to get as many books done before the Pennsylvania School Librarians' Conference in April. Otherwise I'm sure I wouldn't have this many pages/books. Plus I have a very wonderful supportive husband who even does more housework for me as I approach 'deadline' time. Believe me, next week the reading will slow down and the housework will pick back up - yuck!It is so fun that the Read-a-thon is happening at the exact same time I need to be reading as fast as I can. Thanks to whoever picked these dates!
Stats so far:
Freedom Stone - 320p.
Ashes - 465p. (What a page-turner!!)
The Atomic Weight of Secrets (Even better than Ashes!!) -339p.
Murder Most Postal, Delectable, Feline - finally finished this Chunkster - 910p. (last 230p. during Read-a-thon)
Almost Final Curtain - 273p.
Pages so far: 1,627
Barbara wrote: "My job is really slow right now so I'm reading all day long though I'm not reading as much at night."Wow, I wish I had a job where I could read. The last time I had a job like that I was still in college. I haven't had that much time to read this week, and I have a ton of library books and group reads that I need to finish. Oh, well.
