SOLVED. Book I read in the mid(?) 80's - about a boy saving owls [s]

I read a book in the early or mid-80's about a boy, I believe, that lived in Canada. He saved some baby owls. It's similar to Hoot but before it. Has anyone else ever heard of or read this story?? Any help would be greatly appreciated;)
