I wake up, and it's almost been a week in the arena. I start to do my original routine again since I notice that the water level has gone down drastically. I look at my animal traps to find that there are four rabbits caught.
At least I'm keeping myself fed and hydrated, I think relieved.
I go to my pond and it looks back normal, but just for safety measures I watch the animals drink the water. None of the animals seem to be reacting so it must be okay to drink. I drink some and put more in my canteen. I decide to start walking toward camp when I hear a cannon fire.
I wonder, Who must have died and who killed him or her. I better be super cautious.
I keep the walk back near my cave, but stop to sit on a rock to skin my rabbits. As I’m skinning my rabbits, a couple of my special traps that warn me of incoming tributes go off. I turn around quickly enough to get a look to see that it's the girl from 11, who has my bow and arrows that I can really use. She ducks down near a rock because I bet she thinks I didn't see her. I bend down to get my spear sitting at my feet, and I see at the corner of my eye that she is quickly loading the bow and ready to shoot in just a second. I maneuver so that it saves me from a fatal hit, but I get a tiny graze in my arm.
It'll be easy to fix and will heal fast.
She may have thought she injured me with a fatal wound, but she didn't. I pick up my spear that I dropped when I was trying to get away from her arrow. I'm about to throw my spear when she runs off before I can throw it at her. I must be even more careful now that I’ve had my first real encounter with a tribute. I notice that the arrow is right next to me.
I think, Thanks for the arrow. I just need the other 11 and the bow. Then you'll be sorry.
I cook my rabbits at sunset, eat two and go back to my cave when I hear the second cannon fire today. I hear the anthem and see that Ajax died and the girl from District 5 died today. Now that tribute from 11 knows I survived. I don't really want to kill anybody at all. I just want to go home.

Anyways, I think the idea for Cedar and Fade is that they are on the same day as everyone else, your just getting the intense parts...)$"
((It's fine. I just want to have to continue editin mine, and then can't find it. I was going to do it yesterday, but I had a 4 hour shift at work and then homework took me until 11 at night))
((hey, Adena when you check this, my post is at the top.))

((I work at McDonald's as a cashier. Not very fun, but I get paid hourly))

Fade wakes me with a stir, but I'm groggy from yesterday's swimming. We're safe, and as far as i can tell, nothing interesting happened, which is beyond good. She stares hazily up at me. "No attacks, huh?" she says, and at a different time, i might have said 'no duh captain obvious,' but it's no time for sarcasm. I sit up to clear my head, and Fade crawls out of the bag to retrieve our clothes, well, her clothes and my pants, my shirt is nothing but a rag now, that were drying during the night. i reply with a slack "nope," and she seems pleased. Getting dressed, Fade asks, "So what do you want to hunt today? Tributes or seafood?" I think on this while i pull my jeans on, feeling refreshed and exhilarated from the good night's rest. "Let's see what we come across," i say, but in my head, i know that food will be our #1 priority now that we're pretty much out of the shark meat. We pack up our few belongings and fill our 4 water bottles that we've acquired to the brim with fresh water from the waterfall, and we're off.
((Fade))
We walk back towards the cornucopia, hoping that the water there, as well as the actual cornucopia itself may hold some food. Also, I think it would be fun if there was some tributes lying around. The water is quite new to me and I have to idea how to get food from it. Also, neither Cedar nor I are as big as Brent so taking down bigger things will be harder. And in way tired of sea food. But, we gotta do what we gotta do so I say "how and what are we gonna catch?" As soon as the words are out of my mouth, a giant fish jumps out of the waves before us. I hurl a knife at it with speed, even I didn't know I possessed. It's a wonder what compainionship and sleep can do. The knife hits it square and Cedar charges at and kills it. I have no idea how he kept the body intact, maybe he broke its neck? But I don't care. I run forward and help him drag the fish out of the water. Sitting down, a bit tired from heaving the heavy fish, I smile, because we have food now.
I take Cedars hand then lean over and kiss him. We fall back a little onto the sand. I laugh for a second and press myself to him again. I hope I'm not being overly eager. But I simply cannot resist.
((You can carry on. You poison checker thing for fish may help? I don't know. Go ahead though.))

Heading towards the Cornicopia, we search for food. I hold my spear in one hand and a knife in the other, walking side by side with Fade. Suddenly, a good sized fish leaps out of the water, aiming to attack, when Fade whips her knife, cutting it just above the tail. She's an ametur, there's no doubt, because of her stunned expresion as i run and stab my spear streight through it's eye and twist, insuring it's death. I drag it by the back fin onto the shore, and relax as it's gills finally stop moving. Fade comes up from beheind me, takes my hand, and kisses me. I smile, she's easily impressed. Just like my sister, who laughs at any little thing i do. I pull back at the thought of her but Fade presses herself again, persistantly. I think only of now, and let her deepen the kiss. After a while of kissing on the sand, she lets up, and says, " So... what do we do now?" Watching her fight has let me forget how forin the water and everything about it is to her, so i lean back into the soft sand and say, "First, we relax." she laughs and scrambles to her feet, checking through my bag for something. "does this work?" she says, holding up my toxin checker. "it better, we use em' at home all the time, see if a new fish we've never seen before is poisonus or not, here, i'll show you how it works." I take the little metal trinket and insert it into the fish's flesh, waiting for the result. "Wholy crap! this thing's a red!" "And that's... good?" Fade asks, peering over my shoulder to see. "No! Heck no! That thing's so toxic you'd be dead the second it touched your lips!" she puts on a look of frustration, then takes out her knife. Cutting the creature open, i yelp as i scurry away from the blood, it sears with pain as it makes contact with my skin. Fade however, is dunking her blade in the stuff, smiling evily. "Poison, for our enemy." she gives a dark laugh. she continues with my spear, dunking it and smiling. "Ok Fade, just make sure we never prepare our food with those," i stare eagerly, wondering who'll be the the first tribute i'll be able to sink my wicked spear into.
((can we take out both from 5? Is anybody stil being them?))
((well I killed the girl cuz she wasn't active so the dude is urs. What about me??))

((I'll kill Willow... is that ok??))

((Adena, you can have the guy, I'll take the girl. Sorry I haven't been posting, I was at a concert all day long. I'll start the fight tonight!))
((Fade))
After a nice and long time kissing Cedar, we break apart, ready to go again. I sit up and say "So what do we do now?" Its hard to be near the water for me, it's so foreign. "First we relax" Cedar replies, as if reading my thoughts. I sit back, but leap up again, remembering Cedar's first parachute; the poison checker thing. I dig around in his bag until I find it and hold it up. "Does this thing work?" Cedar answers, "it better..." he sticks a little thing into the flesh of the fish and waits. "Holy Crap! This thing is a red!" Completely confused, I say "And that's good?" Getting agitated, Cedar replies "No! ..." My face falls, disappointed, I'm starting to get a tiny bit hungry. But, then I get an idea. I dig out a couple knives and coat them in blood. When I puncture the skin, red juice goes everywhere, burning like acid anything it touches. Cedar scrambles away, but I grit my teeth, finishing covering weapons in blood. Cedar seems a tiny confused, so I grin maliciously and look up to say "poison for our enemies." I take his spear and dunk the head into the fish. These weapons are gonna be deadly. Looking a tiny bit skeptical Cedar finally agrees and adds "okay..." in a minute, he really thinks and a grin crosses his face. I hope the girl who shot me gets a taste of this...
We wander about for a while until Cedar pauses, standing stock-still listening closely to the air. He pulls me behind a rock and says "look, over there." I can't see anything for a moment, but soon I hear a pair if foot steps. Then two other tributes come into view, completely unaware Cedar and I are so close. I turn to Cedar and say "I'll take the girl, you take the boy. Let's try the new poison." He nods back so I leap out from the rock and face our enemies.
Both are stunned in total surprise, so I chuck a clean knife at the girl. She's big, but not particularly fast nor strong. She gets a solid hit in the thigh and goes down hard. The boy leans down to help, but Cedar is on him too fast. The girl is still struggling to get up, so I advance on her. She looks terrified, rightfully so, her death is gonna be painful. She is barely standing up and staggers forward, trying to fend me off. Yeah right, fully armed, she couldn't manage. But, I need to give the audience something, so I pocket my knife and decide to bring her down with my bare hands. Charging at her, I tackle the girl and she falls to her knees, out of breath. I pounce driving my elbow into her side and she lets out a gasp. A fist comes from he other side and clips me beneath my right eye before I can move. Blood pours out my face, anything that hits the cheek bond bleeds a lot. She receives a foot to her nose for that and is on the ground. She's bleeding much worse than I am, but I keep attacking. Fists, knees, and elbows fly but I'm on her soon. "Any last words?" Her eyes narrow, not only in pain, but hate and says "Not for you, B****!" so I crush her wind pipe and she's gone from the world. I stand up, covered in blood that mostly isn't my own and turn to see how Cedar is killing the boy.
((this is whatever girl is left. Idk her name, but if there isn't a girl, a boy. Just somebody. Cedar can have the boy.))

((Bridget or Lauren? I think that should be who she kills.))
((Ahhh Adena, I'm dying in wait!))

I hear a rustle on the rocks and find, to my pleasure two wandering tributes, guinea pigs for our new poison. Pointing them out to Fade, she smiles menacingly and so do i, then springs to the attack. I follow right after her and find, this boy is much smaller than i am, and i bowl him over in a hard tackle, crushing him to the ground. His struggles are futile as i kick his weapon out of his reach, turning to watch Fade, my kill still alive and screaming for his team mate, "Shut it! I'm trying to enjoy the show!" and it was a show, Fade wasn't using any weapons this time, and i couldn't see the girl beneath her, but i could hear screams, and each scream resulted in Fade's limbs becoming bloodier and bloodier, and a sob of regret from the tribute beneath me as his partner slowly died. Finally, the screams stopped, and Fade stood up to face me. "Bravo Fade, bravo," say encouragingly over my back, smiling down on my sobbing sniveling mess at my mercy. "Kill me! Kill Me now!"
"You know what? No. Im not going to kill you. You can wait out for the poison!!" and i stab my poison laced spear deep into his leg, hitting bone. i stab his right arm, and both blows bring cries of agony.
I turn to Fade, and we kiss, letting the boy scream into the night.
((Sorry, Im just a little busy this week Sam, Ill try to keep up))
((oh, r u east coast? And it's okay.))
((Fade))
I turn and Cedar yells "Bravo Fade, bravo!" I take a small bow, dripping blood all over the place. Cedar looks down at the boy who is screaming "Kill me now! Kill me!" smiling menacingly Cedar tells him "You know what? No. Im not going to kill you. You can wait out for the poison!" I laugh to myself, he'll be dead soon. Cedar comes over to me, letting the boy groan, and pulls me in. We kiss, the boys screams in the background. Maybe we are a little insane. But killing him brings us one step closer to home, however we get there. I pull away when the canons fire, saying "look I'm getting you all bloody!" he laughs and pulls me back to the waterfall do I can clean up.

Bats decsend on Cedar and I minutes after we clean up. We run to try to find a concealed area, but they are just swarming. Claws rake my arms and back, tearing skin and fabric. I whip out knives and start stabbing. The bats are faster than I thought, but I manage to take one down. It falls at my feet and I kick the carcass, making sure its dead. The swarm dies down, soon after I kill one, but I'm scared they will come back. "what the heck was that?!?!?" i yell. I'm so frustrated, the swarm makes no sense. "they just disappeared, what's stopping the bats from returning? They just flew off after I killed one, will they be back?" I groan again. Cedar pulls me down on a rock, but says nothing. For me it's a wake up call that the Gamemakers still have utter control. What is he thinking?

((Fade, two bats!!))
About an hour later a few bats fly at us. I sink a knife into the nearest one, but not before it cuts a deep gash in my cheek. Cedar has leaped up and rushes to my side "are you okay" I nod, but I feel salty tears running down my cheeks. I am such a bloody mess. "Fade, honey, you need to keep you cuts clean. I know you can't help but attack a threat, but please try to at least heal?" I hug him and then he dabs at my face with a piece of cloth. "Did any of them get you?" I ask. He shrugs but I can see his shoulder is bleeding. "Here, my turn" I tell him and wipe his shoulder.

The bats seem to mean something. Another hour later, a couple more bats fly at us. Standing up, almost tiredly and filled with a sense of deja vu, I knife another bat.

Taking down another bat when it flies at us is no problem, but we're reluctant to do anything until we figure out the attacks. Are they just random? Do we get some kind of prize? Trying to bring tributes together? We decide to move in an hour.

Bats! hundreds of them swarm and claw at my hair and flesh. I whack around with my bare hands until i can finally reach my sward. using it like a club, i swat at them hilariously until the swarm recedes, very instantaneously. Im covered with scratches, and turning, i see that Fade is too, but she's holding a skewered bat on the end of her knife blade. We're both out of breath and sweaty, and i think 'god dammit! why do the gamemakers have to ruin everything!?' In my mental rage, i see a bat flapping around on the ground, it's wing broken. I crush it underfoot, ending it's life. I pick Fade up like a rag doll and set her on a boulder, trying to lighten the mood, but she's still trying to figure something out in her head, so i jump up and we sit, awaiting whatever the gamemakers have yet to throw at us.

An hour passes. I stand up and Cedar gets up too. The minute both of our feet are firmly set, a final swarm of bats descends. We both whip out weapons and start slashing the air. Killing bats before they take a chunk out of me is all I can think about for a solid minute. After many of them fall to the ground, incapacitated, the rest gradually disperse, hopefully leaving us alone permanently.
"5 attacks, 5 hours. 1st and 5th, large attacks. I think we're safe now." I have to analyze the situation, its the only way I can stop myself from loosing my head.
Just then, I spot a tiny blue dot in the sky. A parachute! I start jumping up and down like a maniac. Blood splatters off me, all over the place. It feels like I'm always covered in it nowadays. The parachute has my name written on it. YES! Finally. My parachute. I knew fighting was the way to get it. As soon as I can reach it, I leap up and start to tear it open. Inside is a pot of honey, my favorite food in the whole world, a matching pair of curved fighting daggers, the best kind, and a pair of dark blue socks. I laugh and burst into song. How well my mentor knows me. "Dark blue, Dark blue, have you ever been ..." Cedar gives me a funny look and then laughs. I show him the contents of the parachute and he smiles. "Socks?" He questions. "Yep, Dark blue socks, a reminder of crazy days at home with my brother. A reminder to fight, I think."
I dunk my hand into the water, cleansing the blood off. Then, I pull open the honey and sick my hand in. "yummmm." I say. Then I offer my finger to him and he licks it. I giggle and kiss him. He tastes like salt, blood, and honey now. Its cute and I put the gifts down, sliding the weapons into my belt. I put my arms around Cedar and breathe him in.

He tastes like salt, blood, and honey now. Its cute and I put the gifts down, sliding the weapons into my belt. I put my arms around Cedar and breathe him in.
((Adena, if you kill birds, I suggest just working them in around the same times as Fades and same with the parachute.))

It’s now a full week in the arena. Fourteen tributes are left. I’m sick and tired of being here. I have no one to talk to or have any assistance in anything. I feel so alone, and I hate that feeling. The best I can do is look at my traps and get more water.
Oh, and stay alive because I definitely want and will get home. They’re the only ones that give me motivation.
I didn’t catch anything in the traps and I fill my canteen so I decide to go hunting. I start walking in a path that is new to me. I think that the path might enlighten me. As I walk along the new path and trying to be careful not to fall, I hear the first cannon for today. I become super cautious just in case if the tribute that just got that kill comes I’ll be prepared. I continue on the path and I see a nice waterfall. I choose to hide my weapons and backpack in a whole in a tree, and then I strip into just my undergarments and hide them with my other stuff. I take a running start and jump into the water. It’s so much more refreshing than the little pond, and I’m glad I found it. I hear another cannon fire and I run out from under the waterfall to get my clothes and stuff. I don’t care if I’m wet. I shove my clothes in my backpack and making sure I don’t touch the small sharp weapons in it. I keep walking with my spear in my hand when I see Josh, the boy from 6. I remember his name because he’s twice my weight and he’s strong. He could snap my neck with no problem. He doesn’t see my homemade spear because I put in vertically against my leg since it’s small and easier for me to control. I stand still and he starts running at me because he probably thinks that I’ll run away and then he decide a way to kill me.
“You’re going to die, District 12. You’re so dumb for just stand there. Why aren’t you running, you stupid girl? Are you going to just give up? I don’t care. Your death will make my life closer to home.”
He’s too cocky to realize I devised a plan to make my life easier by looking like I’m giving up and willing to die. At the last two seconds, I take my spear from against my leg, and I put the butt of the spear on my belly button with it angled a little bit. It’s too late for him to slow down and react because he’s move to fast. He runs into my spear and it goes into his stomach. I help him down on the ground so he would be in less agony.
“I’m sorry. I don’t have anything against you, but I only did it to go home. I never wanted to kill anyone. To tell you the truth, you’re my first kill.”
I hear a cannon fire and I remember his comment he said in between his breathing as he was running.
“Oh by the way, don’t call a girl stupid. Girls can be just as dangerous as guys, if they are smart enough to think ahead and have the right motivation.”
I feel horrible from killing Josh. I only did it because I have to get home and I knew I would die if I didn’t do what I did. It makes me so mad at the capital. They like to make us look like barbarians.
Why can’t this end right now without anyone else?
I take my spear out of Josh’s stomach and run to a place where I can clean it without the hovercrafts seeing me. I clean the blood off my spear and I’m ready to get food. I find 2 squirrels in one trap, but that’s my whole haul for today. I skin them and put them in my cave to cook at sunset. I walk around and try to enjoy the nice woods, pond, and animals. I want to go back to the waterfall, but going back today isn’t the smartest idea. I keep walking until bats out of nowhere start to attack me. I kill them all with my spear, but their claws are sharp and made a cut on my arm.
I’m going to need medicine for that.
If there are more, I’ll have to be careful not to let them touch my skin. I go to the pond to clean my wound. About an hour later more bats came, but this time I made sure they didn’t touch or scratch me. They don’t look safe to eat so I’m only going to eat my squirrels. After another hour, I even more bats came in bigger groups. I still manage to keep from their claws. These must be mutations because why would their claws be so sharp. The fourth hour another set come and the same outcome occurs. They must be coming every hour. I start to go back to my cave as quickly as possible. I go in my cave to get my squirrels when the fifth round of bats attacks me within five hours from the first attack. This is the largest group and has about fifteen bats. I use my spear skillfully, but there are too many and one of them scratches my thigh with a giant gash. I kill them all. I hope my sponsors love me enough to give me medicine. I don’t let my gash slow me down since it’s sunset and I need to cook the squirrels now. I cook them and eat one. I save the other for tomorrow morning. Another hour passes, but bats didn’t attack me again. I go back to the pond to clean my gash and I get instant relief, but it won’t be enough to fix it. I return to my cave once again before it’s dark. Finally, I hear the anthem and the tributes faces are shown. First is the boy from 5 and then Josh. I get sick to my stomach when I see Josh’s face. Finally, the girl from 10’s face is shown. I make three marks on the stonewall with a rock to signify the dead tributes. There are fourteen marks, which means that there are nine other tributes that are alive other than me. As I mark the deaths I hear a thump outside my cave, but it’s not a tribute since none of my traps went go off. I get up with some difficulty from my wound, but get there. What is outside my cave is a gift from a sponsor! I open it right away and it’s medicine for my gash and my other scrape. I put it on without hesitation.
Before I go in my cave, I say to my sponsors, “Thank you!”
I go to my cave and sleep with more relief than I had since day two, but I’m still upset over having to kill Josh.
((Sorry if it's long))
I stir hours later. The sun's rays are bursting over the high rocks in the east. Feeling me move, Cedars eyes slowly open. We survived the night. "No attacks, huh?" I comment. Cedar starts to sit up and I crawl out of the bag. "Nope," he replies. I feel so much more rested after the night. "So shall we hunt tributes or sea creatures today?" I'm energized after a long good nights sleep, we should hunt while we're strong. "I don't know yet, why don't we get ready and see what we come across?" Agreeing with Cedar, I say "Okay." And we start to pack up camp. Hopefully we'll come back, but you never know. Soon, our few belongings except simple weapons are in the bags that we sling over our shoulders. I lean up to Cedar and give him a kiss for luck before we go. After about a minute or so, he leans away saying "Come on, we better get moving." Then, takes my free hand and starts walking.
(( Did anybody see us in the night? And food may be in order soon, but Fade knows next to nothing about hunting in thee water...))
