((Can we kill everyone who hasn't posted yet!!!!!!!????????? As in me and my pack? Like when you have the list?))

Now the games, Brent finds millions of fish by the lake ahead. Others follow. But suddenly, the fish start to jump up. It took a moment to realize that they were phirana's!?

Gaby gasped at the sight of the phiranas. She had to leave she already had some food in her bag. She swam as fast as she could.

Use brackets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spaz attack!!!!!!!!! Brackets!!!!!!!!!
Suddenly, a large shark appeared infront of Gaby.

(Marissara)
Now I thinks it's safe enough to go out and fish. I make a hook out of some of the metal that was in the backpack, and I connect it with some of the rope. It's something at least. I dig up the earth for a decent amount of worms to use as bait, but I have to work quickly so the others don't see or hear me. I go to a shadier area where I can fish so it's harder to see me. I fish for 2 hours, but keeping my guard in case of trouble. I catch several small fish, which will help me through another day and a half. I set a fire at sunset, but no one notices it. At least I don’t have to wake up before sunrise to fish and cook at sunrise. I cook the fish, wrap it in leaves, put it in her backpack, and put the fire out before it can become visible to the others. I go back to the cave and set some traps that only go off with heavier body masses, but won't go off to animals, so I can be alert for the other tributes. I stay awake to hear the anthem, but there were no deaths today. I fall asleep, but I can easily wake up with the sound of a human voice.

((Cedar))
Suddenly, I watch as Brent leaves the pack, sprinting over bloody bodies to get to the shore. He looks down and calls, "Hey guys! There's a TON of fish over here! come check it out!" warily, we jog over, Me and Fade i mean, and i, seeing the massive school of fish in front of me, get nervous tingles of excitement, wanting to finally show my skills. "Wait," i say, "we should check to see if they're dangerous or not, if they're safe to eat. Brent, give me your spear." quickly, he hands it over, as eager as all of us to get some food. spearing one and pulling it out of the water, Fade watching my back, i observe it carefully. Suddenly, i realize, and sprint as far away from the water as i can, dragging Brent and Fade with me. Brent trips, and the horrors unfold. Hundreds of fish fling themselves out of the water, aiming for the only living flesh they could find, Brent. Fade screams loudly and Brent is cursing like a fiend, scrambling up the rocky shore to safety, away from the leaping fish. Fade, her voice laced with fear, asked, "what ARE those things?" "Piranhas baby. Piranhas."

The cannon fires, Harret Ford from district 5 is dead.
FYI, this was one of the ghosts, ya know, the spot that wasn't filled?
((I can't really write outside of first person, and it feels smoother))
((Fade))
I stop to catch my breath, thinking that we are far enough away from the piranhas. Thank god Cedar had the foresight to check on the fish, or we would have been dead like the other girl. The Gamemakers seem to be extra vicious this year, eager to make the ignorant and helpless die. Which could work to our advantage, except I'm not one to think before acting, and neither is Brent... Cedar may be our gift...
((Brent))
Dang! ((keeping my mouth clean:)) "Thanks Cedar, I would have been piranha chow." I'm alive, temporarily safe and clear headed, but we still need food. "I want another go at some marine life. Personally I'm hungry, and now that we know there is many potential dangers from the water, we gotta face 'em head on!!! I say we go for a shark meat" I say that with a big grin on my face, fighting like this suits me well.

Brent. and his proposal to try and catch shark meat. i weigh my options in my mind. on the one hand, i can clearly see that although Brent is a good fighter, he's dangerously over ambitious. Catching a shark is hard, and killing one is even harder. in the end, he would most likely end up throwing himself at the sharks and i would have to, again, save his sorry little butt. on the other hand, i could make it seem like an accident, and leave him there to die. there's only one winner right? and i don't think i could take him on man to man. Yes, i decide, that will be my plan.
so, with a sly grin, i put my hand on his shoulder and say, " Sure brother. Let's bag us a shark." He will never be my brother in a million years. Never.

I wake up to my third day in the arena. As I'm finishing my fish caught from yesterday, I start to remember the 5 cannon; and I'm still wondering who that first day at the blood bath died because I fell asleep when the anthem and pictures of the dead tributes occurred. I should have stayed awake for the pictures and anthem, but I'll have to wait patiently. Sooner or later, I'll find out. I also think of back home. I think about how my little 5-year-old sister is holding up without me, and whether my little brother (14 years old) is distracting her. My mom is probably a wreck watching me, but still cheering me on in her own way. My dad is probably keeping himself busy trying to get his mind off about how his oldest daughter might be slaughtered. I think he knows that I'm a fighter and I'll probably make it home. And what about my boyfriend! He will probably be ready to commit suicide the minute I die! I can imagine what he'll ask and tell me when and if I get back home...
Okay, I can't be thinking about them like this and right now. I'm keeping my guard down and I might die if I'm not careful by letting my emotions get the better of me, I think.
To distract myself, I should concentrate on getting food and creating weapons and shelter. I hope I might be able to find someone who I can team up with that is trustworthy, but for now, I need to concentrate on the food, weapons, and shelter. I start with shelter. I cut large leaves and put them in the cave to weave into a blanket later. Next, I will create weapons. The Gamemakers did something to the water so I can’t fish in there for a while, or I’ll have to find another water source. I take a large stick from a broken tree, that is extremely sturdy, and a rock. I take the rock and continue scrape it on both sides by using another rock to create a spearhead. I find some strong vines and connect the stick to the spearhead, which creates a spear!
I give a triumphant smile and think, Take that Gamemakers. I made myself a spear without having to kill someone for one that was from the Cornucopia.
Since I don’t have my bow and arrow yet, I’ll have to make do with my spear. I quickly learn how to use the spear and use it to kill game. I kill five squirrels, and as I kill them, I hear two cannon booms at two separate times. I need to be careful, just in case the tributes are near. I need to wait until later to cook them so I look for a new water source. I keep in mind things that I pass so I can get back home. I find some mud and find a little spring within five minutes. I watch the animals drink it for an hour or so to see if it is okay to drink. Several of the animals come back so I find that it is good to drink. As I drink from it, I notice that there are no fish in it. I fill my bottle with water and start to head back before it starts getting dark. I stop a third of the way back to my cave so I can start a fire and cook the squirrels because sunset is starting. I finish cooking the squirrels, put out the fire, and eat two of the squirrels as I’m walking back to the cave. I get in my cave and start weaving the leaves into a blanket as I wait for the two dead tributes’ faces. One of them is Sam the boy from 7 who I thought would actually do well since he got a seven in the training score. The other is the boy from District 5. That means there are only seventeen of us left.

I can hear te pained hollering of my fellow tributes in other sections of the Cornucopia. I shudder to think of what might have caused those terror-packed shrieks. And if it enjoys eating small boys from District 5. I scoop some of the sand onto my legs, arms, stomach. It will provide some sort of warmth for the cold night that's coming soon, I'm sure. I can already see traces of dusk in the sky. I stare up at the sky, and wait for the dead tributes' faces to be projected into the sky. I wonder about mutations an when the Gamemakers will thrust them into the arena upon us. I can only hope that the Capitol had a good show.

((Haha! This is gonna be interesting. You're on. I'll pretend I didn't hear your plan, but you may have a two to one fight (or maybe one to one, Fade on Cedar, when/if I loose Brent) on your hands! I don't mind loosing one of my charries, though, it will be saddening. I'll make sure Brent goes out with a bang, just give me a bit to type this, (goodreads is being a butt and keeps closing one me!)... I'll post soon!)) :)

Cedar seems to think about my proposal to go for some sharks. Fade looks pumped and ready to go, but I'm not sure if she can take a shark... She should stand guard, she's handy with her knives and isn't afraid to throw. Finally, with a grin on her adrenaline pumped face, Cedar says "Sure Brother! Let's bag us a shark!" After she says that, a small line creases her forehead, but I pass it off for anxiety for our next kill. Now that I've got our teams approval, we gotta think about how to catch one of those bad boys...

I carefully observe our packs communication after the piranha attack. I see both the dangers and the potential of a predator filled body of water, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet...
After Brent's suggestion to go for the Shark meat, Cedar takes a long time to decide if she wants to go for it or not. I see emotions barely suppressed on her face, and I see a plan forming. I continue to fade away, holding onto my name, so I can think without the scheming messing with me. I don't want to get caught up in a plan that could end in Brent or Cedar, or both of their demise. Their big kids, they can handle themselves. But, I plaster an excited look on my face, to give the illusion of support of our next action.

I watch as Fade eyes me skeptically, grinning with fake excitment just as i had, and i can tell she thinks i'll be up to something other than catching sharks. I defenately have to keep a close watch on her, 'cause i've seen her throw those knives, and she's good, maybe even better than me. once Brent's gone, i think of breaking off the alliance, i defenately don't want to fight her. as me and Brent scan the water for sharks, i keep one eye glued on Fade, who's "watching our backs." yea right. finally i can't stand having my back to her anymore, so i say, "Brent, you keep looking, im going to weave a net so we can actually catch this thing." I sit down on a rock facing Fade, pull the rope from my pack, and begin to weave, not looking at my hands but at her, wondering what's going on in her clever little mind.
((Sam, i really don't want to lose my tribute yet, it's too early. and he's my one shot, so can you please not take him from me until (if ever) later in the games? if you don't want me to kill Brent, tell me, i was just looking for something interesting to write about. we cool?))
((Don't mind loosing Brent, as long as we drag it out a bit and give people something to read about. Just leave Fade and I'll leave Cedar. Sorry I've been writing "she" I forgot Cedar was a boy ... we're good though.))
((Fade))
I eye Cedar suspiciously, as he and Brent scan the water in hunting mode. I know I should be watching our backs, the other tributes have been keeping a dangerously low profile. But, I just can't take my eyes off him. I really distrust him, and what with his being from district 4, I know Brent and I are unsafe anywhere near the water. If we survive this, I know I will, but Brent is just too one-track-minded, I know I can't defend myself on close quarters with Cedar, but Brent can, so I stay near, but if goes down, I have to leave and leave fast. Anyways, if we survive this, we really need to start tribute hunting!
After what feels like hours of waiting and waiting, without a sign of any animal life, Cedar says "Brent you keep looking, I'm going to weave a net so we can actually catch this thing." Then, he comes, sits on a rock, and pulls rope from his pack and faces me. I think about how close we are, and start to inch back, I know I can knife him from a far, but will I be able to get a knife before he can rearm himself? I don't think of defending Brent, just of myself. He's my district partner, but ultimately competition. I perch, on my rock, eyes on Cedar, examining him. He appears to be about my age, but I'm smaller, and faster. I may be able to outrun him. I decide to wait this out a bit. At the first sign of human predators, I'll run.

((sorry am i dead?))
Gaby:
Gaby starts to scream, but nothing comes out. The predetor slowly swims towards her and she slowly swims back. The shark takes a lunge at Gaby and she ducks underwater quickly. She turns around to see it is going to make a second attack. This time she has two knives ready. As the shrk lunges, at the last second she ducks, and stabs the shark in the sides. The shark is dead ((Is there land somewhere??)) She slowly swims to her hidding spot in the grotto and rests.

"A cannon?" I whisper. What the heck! Somebody's messing with a sea monster, or fighting!
Then, two parachutes float down near us. I rip the one with my name on it out of the air, and start pulling it open. Inside is a sick sword, with incredible reach and balance. I think I'll be able to stab anything with this beautiful piece of metal. I thank the capitol citizens in my head, the weapons in the Cornucopia were okay, but amateur. With this, no person or shark stands a chance against me in close quarters.

5 cannons fire, and I wonder what could have taken the others out. Must be a mutt, created my the Gamemakers, since Brent, Cedar, and I were not involved. Soon after the cannons fire, I see two small shapes in the sky. Parachutes. I squint to see if one is directed to me, but they are to Cedar and Brent. I know I have sponsors, I must, but I'm not in dire need of anything yet. Still, I'm disappointed, and a bit fearful, they can do a lot of damage with the right materials. Leaving just keeps looking better and better... Still, I know I'll wait. I'd rather know the score, and have a bit of danger, than run like a coward. It appeals to me. But, weighing my life against thrill, I will be cautious.

I scan the waters, looking for any signs of life, but see nothing. Cedar watches too, weapons ready, and I have a brief flash of unease. I glance over at him, but reassure myself, knowing I'm much bigger than him. After what feels like hours of vigilant watching, Cedar finally says "Brent you keep looking, I'm going to weave a net so we can actually catch this thing." Then, he goes and sits down on a rock and fixes his eyes on her, while weaving and tying together a net. His eyes linger on her forever, and I wonder whats going on between the two of them. With my focus set on the unusual pair, I miss a small splash behind me. I feel a current soon after though, and whirl around reaching for my spear. Then I shout, "Cedar, get your butt over here, I think we have a shark, baby!"

((@ Mylan, can we like avoid the swarm, because we are getting ready to have a fight with a shark ...))
Gaby: Gaby snatches her silver parachute and swims to hide to look at what she has. She looks inside a pot. She got a loaf of bread and a small container of broth. She eats just a little bit of bread and sips a tiny bit of broth. Shee realizes she needs to rest

Two silver parachutes come drifting down towards us and i crane my neck to read the names, i realize, one's for me! as i pull it apart, i find a little metal device, which i realize is what we use back home to determine a fish's toxin levels. Just what i needed! in a place like this, who knows what kinds of crazy stuff the gamemakers will put out, and it's best to be completely safe before you dig in, found that out the hard way, barfing like a fool for a week. in here, that could be the diference between life and death. Brent, with a look of sheer glee on his face, weilds a sward that he no doubt found in his parachute, as Fade sits looking a bit distrought about her lack of 'chutage.
((Fast-Forward to the middle of previous post))
My glaring at Fade skids to a halt as i hear a splash in the water beheind me and Brent whirling around with his spear as he calls, "Cedar, get your butt over here! I think we have a shark, baby!" . I hold my net at the ready, turn to face the water, and sprint to his side, scanning the pool with my sharp fisherman's eyes when Brent says, "THERE! Over there! See it!?!?" and sure enough, gliding through the water with his wicked white-tipped dorsal finn, comes a shark, a good 6 ft. long, zig zagging right towards the shore where we stood. "Dude, im going to lower the net, be ready with your spear. Aim for between the eyes or behind the head, K?" Strongly, he takes a hunter's position with spear at the ready, while i yell urgently to Fade, "You going to help us or what sweetheart?" she runs over, knives at the ready, as i mutter, "You better be watching, you better not blink.."
((like my refrences, sweetheart? haha. Also, came back to something Cedar said in his interviews, which was one of my favorite quotes from roleplay so far, if i do say so myself. Sam, you can play around with this, i don't really know how im going to get Brent, so if you have any ideas, tell me. id really like them to be able to catch this shark though... so i had Fade help too. the floor's yours.))
((I'm switch to Brent using his new sword. I wrote up my last post before Mylan said the thing bout parachutes. I'll post my next thing tomorrow, I got lots of homework and so little time.))

I'm sitting on my rock, returning Cedar's glare, when I hear a tiny splash and then a shout from Brent "Cedar, get your butt over here! I think we have a shark, baby!" Cedar leaps up, grabbing the net, all thoughts on his mind off me, for the time being. He starts scanning the pool and Brent starts getting excited, wielding he new sword. Brent yells "THERE! Over there! See it!?!?" I can barely make out the shark, but it seems giant. Then Cedar tells Brent "Dude, im going to lower the net, be ready with your spear. Aim for between the eyes or behind the head, K?" Brent takes his position, aiming, and readying his weapon... Cedar yells at me "You going to help us or what sweetheart?" I sprint over, picking up the best of my knives, and take an attack position. Who is more dangerous Brent, The SHark, or Cedar. For the time being I think the Shark ...
