What would hipsters do if hipsters became mainstream?

I actually had a friend who wrote an article for the school newspaper about that…because around here, the hipster stereotype is not necessarily mainstream, but it's the "popular" group.
Well…I don't remember much and the article is currently in a drawer two floors above me…. But I figure that the hipster stereotype is just so chill with being who they are that no matter who else tries to be like them, they just wouldn't pay any mind, y'know?

because i feel like everything a hipster does, he's all, "oh, i can't be like everyone else, so i'm going to have to do it [fill in the blank] way instead." it's just a way to be different than the crowd, but really the whole focus is on what the crowd is doing. plus, plenty of people are hipsters just because they think hipsters are cool. and they want to follow them. a hipster following a hipster is still a follower. he's still uncomfortable in his own skin.
obviously there are exceptions, but yeah.
Eh, yeah…. I can see where you're coming from. I guess, around here in my uber-conservative bubble where any guy with too-long hair or tight clothes or whatever is kinda shunned, there are a lot of people who adopt the "hipster look" with skinny jeans and rat tails because they know it will set them apart from the crowd. And I say they're chill with people trying to be like them because I did and failed. :D
