Hakan (hakan42) | 15 comments I find myself buying more and more comics from www.comixology.com . How should I handle those books?

One one hand, they seem to reuse ISBN numbers from paper versions (the ISBN number in the file is 9781582409221, which on GR links to the paperback version).

On the other hand, I'm not so sure about classifying the files as "ebook"...

On the gripping hand, classifying the books according to the publisher seems slightly stupid too, considering that Sony ued to have a digital comic service too and just closed it down

Any good ideas here?

Ralph Gallagher | 200 comments I'd say treat them the same way we would if the ebook reused the paperback ISBN. Create a new entry for the ebook version and leave the ISBN blank and then note that it reuses the paperback ISBN in the description field.

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments I think eBook is a perfectly valid format for these books.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Yes, I agree with Ralph on this. The format of "ebook" makes sense. You could note "comixology" in the edition or somewhere in the description, the way that ebook formats are sometimes noted when multiple ebook editions are created for the same book (some books reuse the paperback ISBN for all ebook formats; other books, contrariwise, buy a new ISBN for each of the epub, mobi, and pdf editions...).
