Working with her is great. We are close so it helps.

In YA, I prefer beta's like Matt in Flat out Love. When I do like an Alpha, I don't like them controling. Showing their Alpha to other men, and snarky. Like Raffe in Angelfall, or Jonah from Jellicoe Road.
But when I look through my 'my lovers' GR shelf, most of my favorite YA male leads tend to fall in the middle, like Tom from Piper's Son/Saving Francesca or Ettiene from Anna & the French Kiss.

I'll admit that the darker side of me gets chills when a man in an adult book is a darker than I would want realistically (Barrons, ha). But I don't like seeing that in teen books. Perhaps because I feel like teens are still being molded into who they're going to be as an adult and it shouldn't be to emulate a character who's controlled by her boyfriend.

I do like the darker side too, don right -- like with Barrons.

I should say that Angel in the Forever Mine, is not that controling about her life but something is rubbing me the wrong way. I've still got 40% of the book left and hope to finish today because I want to read

That's exactly how I see it too. And I like it when the women are not knee-jerk dopes that go left when the man says right (even if the man has reasons to say so.)

Sounds like we would all be going after the same guy, lol!

A day for free stuff, audible just sent me a christmas gift in july and one of the options was a historical non fiction novel about Blackhawk. This likely doesn't interest most people, but he was the leader of the Sauk tribe which lived basically where my hometown is. We call my hometown the "Sauk Valley" and many things bear the name of Sauk or Blackhawk, so I am excited to learn about his life (it appears to be written by him) -- and it was free from audible!

Sounds like we would all be going after..."
I loved Pandemonium. It was such a great book.

Oh I thought that was monitored and GR did it officially? That is an assumption though, I hope that is not the case.

Sounds like we would all..."
i agree with u it is fishy but mb the authors authorized it I mean GR are very proper when it comes to things like this. :)
And Pan was really great!! lol :)

what book? Pan, I think so there wasn't sex involved its mostly about the emotions it brings out of u!!!

Pan is YA and there was no sex. Kissing, yes, but sex no. It is a really great book.

Given how many problems GR is having in the last few months I wonder how closely they are monitoring everything.
I sent them a line just in case. If the authors authorize free downloads of their books, they should note it somewhere but I can tell you they aren't free on Amazon.

I like Alpha males myself but there are just some that rub me the wrong way. Like, Beautiful Disaster. I did not like the guy in this book at all. He was more psycho to me than anything.

I should probably post about it in the GR librarian group. Let me do that now.

Yes, Kay - a librarian can upload book covers, add editions and do general edits. I do it all the time.

I am guessing the same is true with the Night Huntress novel.

This is OT but I find this amusing....Bella cheated on Edward: http://tmz.me/MHHXJv

Also, it is super easy to become a librarian."
I applied once but didn't get approved.
Should I email you the pic or give you the link?

Marcella, I would encourage your sister to look for a job too. Just my 2 cents, but I have been in bad office environments and they only get worse, nothing is lost by both of you looking! That must be great to work with your sister though.
Kay, I can see how someone would feel that way. Definitely no leave it to beaver household for my childhood. I can see how that would have been difficult. I often wonder what my kids will regret about the childhood I am giving them.
