Venise | 10 comments I'm reading Beautiful Creatures. The story takes place in a town called Gatlin in South Carolina, where everyone knows each other and are 'categorized.' The main character is in Highschool hoping to travel to various places far away from Gatlin, when a 'recluse's' niece becomes the new person in town who is actually the girl he has seen in his recurring dreams. Interesting.

message 8522: by Nancy from NJ (new)

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) My name is Nancy and I am a bookaholic. I LOVE to read although at my age, I sometimes think many of the great books have already been written. I just finished read Under the Wide and Starry Sky by the author who wrote Lovinf Fran. This book was good but now I am trying to think of a book to knock my socks off. I was even thinking of rereading for the umpteenth time, The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher or Evergreen by Belva Plain.

I am a senior citizen and former high school teacher who still subs in our area. I enjoy playing tnnis traveling but most of all my family and reading. I am also a co-moderator of another group which I enjoy.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. And I look forward to meeting the people here.

I wasn't really thrilled with this series by Archer. But I have loved many of his books in the past. I think my two favorites are Kane and Abel and As the Crow Flies. If you've watched the Masterpiece Theater presentation of Mr. Selfridge, it is very reminiscent of As the Crow Flies.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Travis - that takes me back many years ago. It was the first movie I saw after our daughter was born in 1975. I later read the book and did enjoy it too.

message 8531: by Elizabeth T. (new)

Elizabeth T. Ward (elizabethtwardcom) | 15 comments I grew up in Massachusetts and was deliciously terrified of swimming in the ocean for years up there because of the movie. I'm only on page 26 of the book, but I'm loving it so far. It's so sad that I didn't even know there was a novel first... I just assumed it was written as a screenplay.

Also started Three Weeks With Lady X been looking forward to this book ever since I heard Ms. James had a new one coming out. Plan on starting it this weekend and holing up on my couch with it:)
