Romance, Historical or Otherwise discussion
What Are You Reading Now?

Actually, their names start mostly Cs. The 5 sons are named Colby, Colt, Cam, Cord and Carter; their parents are Carson and Carolyn. Most of the time, I have to think it through to figure out who's who.
And now they have SO MANY KIDS - at least 3 a couple...some have 4 or 5 and a bunch of the women were all pregnant. In this book there was mention of all of those kids and it was crazy to figure out who's who - because first you think...this kid is who's son? And who's the father? (I thought of that TV show while I was trying to think it through...you ARE the father!)

I'm really tough on romantic suspense writers (I'm a mystery reader after all) so I hope I really like this one. :) And you know I'll def. comment on what I think of Grimspace. I'm not known for keeping my mouth shut! LOL!

I really enjoyed Grimspace but I haven't read many sci-fi books so I don't have many books to compare it to. But since I enjoy UF, it kind of reminded me of UF but in space....if I'm making any sense.

So is the Kristen Ashley series

I read Rock Chick #1 by Kristen Ashley but thought it was just ok. I will be giving The Gamble a try in the future. There seems to be a ton of people who love her books.
I still have many VR books to read. I'm sorry you have finished them already. But the series isn't over tho, right? She's still planning to write more, I hope.

Regina, I read these and I liked them. It's a mix between a Virgin River type town but the men are not like Jack. They're more demanding and controlling. Not sure if it's something you would like... They're not as good as VR, IMO
Kay, I finished reading at book 11, in the VR series. Where did you end? We could continue together :)
Oh, I forgot their names but that was a wonderful story. It was just so real and I loved the way Carr handled it all. So heartbreaking.

It's on my TBR list, and when I'm in a UF mood I'll start it. Just after Chessiebomb :)

I found it refreshing that he was attracted to her personality more than anything.

Thanks for the rec for this book, I was able to get it from the library, and i devoured it in a day! I am tempted to read more in the series, but my library doesn't have books 2 and 3 (I hate when they do that) so, my question is, is it worth buying those? Are they as good as the first one?!

By the way I am just at 11. :)"
Perfect! Let me know when you're moving on and I might join you :) I'm sure i've forgotten so much, so I can ask you.

Dnelson, I loved the first book,

Have you read

Okay! Virgin River 11.1 is a free download and 12 is in an anthology (which is being shipped to my library right now), 13 returns to the normal format. I can start whenever you like. :)

Have you seen the reviews for Sheltering Hearts? I guess Carr wrote it as a special submission for an event on women's issues so it is not a typical Virgin River series. Even the hardcore VR fans are giving it 2 stars, I guess it is not really about the series .... I am open to try it though. But I am also open to skipping it. :)

Now that i've read the first few pages, I remember starting this and putting it down. Let's move onto the next book, Midnight Kiss. I need to find it :)

Thanks for the rec! I will try to check it out. I def prefer borrowing, but I don't have any other option! FRUSTRATING! I think I can get some used copies at a reasonable price though.

I am reading with Leea

I have to say the game in Pick A Shelf was more fun because it was individual.

The only thing is to enjoy it, you have to read from lots of different genres. I'm already in my second round - I finished second in the game by reading 16 books and had to read from shelves like philosophy and spirituality but there were so many other general shelves that it wasn't too big of a deal.

Leea, well the Hunger Games is okay. The writing is great, just uncertain about the actual storyline. Kids killing kids for a game is hard to digest, but I wanted to read it before I see the movie.
