I am currently reading Lindsey Davis's See Delphi and Die as well as Short Stories in Italian: New Penguin Parallel Text (working on my Italian). Oh, and I'm obviously still reading through Christopher Duggan's The Force of Destiny: A History of Italy Since 1796 (it's a big book) xD
I am reading a book about Roman Britain, Four Sisters, All Queens and thinking of starting a book about the Spartans. Oh, and I am reading The Black Prism with my husband. Thinking I need to read something more literature soon but I have so many books on my to-read list that it may be a while.
Hello everyone!I am reading Pride and Prejudice on my native language and also The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (tales)

I should read that one again... but tossing up on either P&P or Persuasion... what do you girls think?
i am currently waiting for my dad to actually get my books from the library but im technically banned from reading (by my mom) so i have my dad sneak some books to me from the library :)
@ Francesca Pride and Prejudice is better then Persuasion IMO so I would read P&P@Caro why are banned form reading?
unless of course, Francesca you haven't read Persuasion, you should do that one. :) I liked it.
yea, Caro, WHY?!
yea, Caro, WHY?!
Alice is right Francesca if you have already read P&P read Persuasion.Have you read any of Austen's other works?
@Caro: That seems like a horribly sick punishment!! Good for your dad, though. (I hope I don't sound offensive or anything :))
Thanks Nicole and Alice! :)
I've read S&S recently... P&P a couple of years ago...

I would say Francesca P&P for a more light hearted one or Persuasion for a properly romantic one!!! Defo read Persuasion sometime if you haven't read it!! Recommend reading all the Austen novels sometime!!!
Thanks Soph. I think I'll dive into Persuasion. After reading Sherlock Holmes for a while I need a romance. :) And I definately plan to read all of Austen's works!
Maybe you girls can help me:
I have a friend who says that Austen wrote a book called 'Envy' and a movie was made of it. But I'm practically certain JA didn't write 'Envy'... any ideas?

i don't think so...
P&P, MP, NA, S&S, Emma and Persuasion.
Then ... Lady Susan, Sanditon, her letters.... um...
never heard of 'envy'...

Yeah,... Envy must be someone elses book... :?
I recently started a kindle freebie I think you might like, Alice. It's called Twixt.
It's full of Irish superstition and fairy magic, romance and drama! And quirky characters!
It's a tad confusing in the beginning, but a very good read thus far. :)

Still reading Christopher Duggan's The Force of Destiny: A History of Italy Since 1796 (am in the mid- to late-19c at the moment xD) but I've started reading Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five. I never read this in school and it's pretty quirky/interesting so far.

Nationals is over now so im free to read. But....im down here in florida so i havent had a book in forever! Are there no libraries in florida??
Lilliandil to repeat Alice's question How do you like it so far?Have you read Austen before or is this your first?
I hope you like it Lilliandil! Jane Austen is amazing!I am currently reading "For You alone" the second book in a two book series by Susan Kaye that tells Captain Wentworth's view of Persuasion by Jane Austen. I'd recommend the first book, None But You, and this other one to anyone who's read Persuasion!
I've read Persuasion, but not the series you mentioned; I just had nothing particular to say so I summed it up with a smiley! XD LOL
