IKR?!?!?! I love regency, it's my favorite genre.
I can never get into contemporary/modern stories. :P too commonplace I guess. lol I also love Edwardian, Victorian, Elizabethan/Tudor, some Prairie, etc. ;))

What's funny is like Jane Austen was writing contemporary romances - it's just historical for us now!

message 1707: by Anne (new)

Anne | 253 comments I have read mostly non-fiction about Elizabeth the 1st, but a long time ago I remember reading "Cue For Treason" by Geoffrey Trease and LOVING it!! :) I am also a big Shakespeare fan!! How about you?! ;)

I've heard of Cue for Treason, and really want to read it! I'll look for it! :D
I'm not much of a fan as far as Shakespeares actual works- lol but I love reading fiction about him and his players (I LOVED The Shakespeare Stealer, and the Playmaker was AMAZING), and I like spin-offs of his work and stuff. ;P
I LOVE Elizabethan fiction and a year or two ago I went through a kick where it was all I read! Some ultimate favorites are Coronation of Glory (SO AMAZING), To Die For, The Secret Keeper (probably one of my favorite books ever- any genre!), The Ring of Danger, Queen's Own Fool, Honor in the Dust, The Poyson Garden (I really liked this a lot, but there was quite a bit of profanity in it :/), The Redheaded Princess, Carolyn Meyers "Young Royals" series, etc. :) I love it so much. lol

Oh my that's great!! I'll have to check those out!!! Thanks so much! I think i'll go have a peek at your shelves and add some books lol ;)

I really recommend Cue For Treason! My English wasn't very good when I read it, so it was bit difficult, but I loved it!
