Definition of Magical Realism from answers.com: A chiefly literary style or genre originating in Latin America that combines fantastic or dreamlike elements with realism. (So, for example, a girl born with green hair and magical abilities is a perfectly reasonable event and is accepted as something normal by the characters within the story... from House of the Spirits)
