For option 4 does this work?

The grass is green and the inside of the suitcase is orange.
Thanks

@Lavinia: Half-Blood works! Even though there is a lot of black, the color purple is dominant and leaps off the cover to my eyes. It will also work for option 2.
@Kathryn CA: The Boy Book: A Study of Habits and Behaviors, Plus Techniques for Taming Them Yes! Even one flower will work. And, here there are several surrounding her.

This was a bit tough for me to decide; but overall, I think the color is orange. So I will say yes.

Want to check this for green:

Want to check for flowers:

Would this work for pink:

I like to keep my options open... I guess you could just tell me if any of these don't work.

Jessica, this is a tough one for me as green is over most of the cover. But...what jumps out at me is the white lettering. The task calls for a cover with a "main cover color of...green". I just do not think this fits. Sorry.

JennRenee, the green is not the primary color on this cover. In fact, I would say that white is. I am looking for the colors listed to be the dominant color of the cover, not just a color on the cover. I'm going to say no to this one.

thanks Bea!!"
Yes, Michelle, I will accept this book as yellow is definitely a dominant color.

Yes, the phoenix is a legendary bird. I will accept it.

Yes, Laurie...this is a good choice for option 4 as it has two of the listed colors.

Yes, the phoenix is a legendary bird. I will accept it."
Thanks!

Sam, a mix of colors is fine...and this one is great! Very spring-like in color.

Mabeelle, I am going to say no. I assume you were going for cream but the cover looks mostly white to me. Sorry.

Yes, Jess. That cover is very orange and will work fine. Just be sure you link to the correct cover when posting as this book has lots of covers...many which will not work for this option.

Thanks Bea!!!! Great task by the way!

Meghan, I am glad you like the task. Sorry I messed up your name. I have edited the responses to correct that.

Pink or lilac? A bit hard to tell for sure but either color works.

Michael, I will allow both books, although the Nick Of Time is a bit borderline for me.
I am approving it only because the color does stand out to me, is not lost in the wording and is at least half the cover.

The Wednesday Letters

Concur?"
Oh, yes! Definitely RED!! :)

If that fails, can I use the following for Option 4?

Or this, for Option 2?

The Temptation of the Night Jasmine - Jasmine is a flowering shrub/vine and so would work for option 2.
All work just fine, Jessica.

Yes, Laurie...this is a good choice for option 4 as it has two of the listed colors."
Thanks - maybe I've finally decided and will stop pestering you ;-)

Yes, Jess. That cover is very orange and will work fine. Just be sure you link to the correct cover when posting as th..."
Thanks! Wanted to try and get as many points as possible for this book as it's sooooo long so this is perfect :)

Rachel Renee, The Name of the Rose would easily work for Option 4.
However, I am not so sure about The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. I see many of the colors I want but the white lettering is the predominant feature of the cover. If I am consistent with my previous decision regarding The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2011, then I have to say no to this book.
So, one yes and one no.

I love springtime! After a bleak, dark, dreary winter season, I start looking for signs that spring is on the way: the first robin, the first leaves of the crocuses and tulips peaking through the ground, the slight opening at the hint of warmth of the rhododendron and forsythia buds, and the warmth of a longer day. Spring brings hope and anticipation and lures me outside. I even enjoy and welcome the first warm, gentle rain which melts the snow and gives drink to the newly growing plants. And, I love the colors of spring as the flowers and plants wake and open, bringing new color to our yard.
This task is to honor that special time. You will read ONE book. Series titles may be used. REQUIRED: Post which option you chose.
1. BIRD: Read a book that has either a bird(s) on the cover or the name of a bird in the title.
REQUIRED: If you choose the cover option, include a link to the cover.
These lists might help:
The Birds
Birds in the Title
As always, not all books on a GR list will necessarily fit the task.
2. FLOWER: Read a book that has either a flower(s) or a flowering plant on the cover. REQUIRED: Post a link to the cover of the book
These lists might help:
Flowers on Covers
Flower Covers
As always, not all books on a GR list will necessarily fit the task.
3. SPRING WORDS: Read a book with a title that contains one of these words – sun, day, rain, gentle, warm, flower, bird, or any of the color words listed in option 4. Plurals are acceptable. Compound words containing one of these words, such as sunshine or daytime or sunbird are okay. (Note: a compound word is one in which each of the parts of the word is a separate word on its own)
4. COLORS: Read a book with the main cover color of yellow, red, orange, pink, salmon, apricot, purple, lilac, green or cream.
REQUIRED: Post a link to the cover of the book.
5. SPRING: Using the word “springtime,” read a book whose author’s first and last initials are found in the word. The initials must be consecutive, but can be forward or backward. Examples: Neil Gaiman with consecutive initials forward, and Robert B Parker, with consecutive first and last initials backward.
