It's okay. I just want to make things exciting. :P Pang-break ako ng votes in short. :)) Next time isa naman satin magbbreak ng vote and I will be the one campaigning. Haha.

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Don't you love my spiel sa poll hahaha! Tindi nito hahaha.

In the end, we will all be winners. We'd like to have as many members as possible to vote. It's my barometer on how many members are really paying attention or lurking out of 1,500. When they vote, they'd like their voices to be heard and counted. With 3 of us campaigning (why don't you make up your mind and write a spiel too? hahaha) we will be able to show how interesting our book group is.

Go Color Purple!

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments @Angus: Haha. Ano ka ba, you already read the book. Why not try reading Remains of the Day since big fan ka naman ni Ishiguro. Hello? Try another new novel. Huwag na yung nabasa mo na. At first place, di ko hinahampas ang bag mo no. Baka nilagay mo sa likod mo ang bag mo while sitting in Powerbooks. Haha. But I'm sure I'm not. Haha.

@Maria: Ako ba? Haha. Haha.

message 154: by Angus (new)

Angus (angusmiranda) | 4337 comments HELLO KWESI!

Nabasa ko na ang Remains. 5 stars ko pa nga iyan eh. The Color Purple 4 stars. Mockingbird 4 stars.

message 156: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Ranee: Oo naman. Go Dekada '70! hahaha Advance lang! hahaha.

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments @Angus: HI ANGUS! Haha.

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments Ella. Adik ka talaga. ELLA THE CAT RACER. oh diba?

message 159: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Just open your mind and give the book a chance.

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments My thank you message for the day

Thanks for putting the threads in order, Jzhun.
Thanks for creating the poll, Angus.

Sometimes, when we are tied up with so many things, we tend to miss appreciating people who just did us favors/terrific jobs, di ba? So I think I will have send thank you messages when appropriate. We are all in this in keeping this group alive and strong! Good job, guys!!!

OMG, Maria. Classic overload. Nanay roles! Ikaw ba yan, Eula Valdez?

message 163: by Rollie (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments KD: May sarili ata akong mundo. Nag-try ako ng The Known World. In fairness, buwis buhay pala ang pagbabasa ng librong yun, depressing. Haha.

message 164: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Rollie, ay oo. Mahabang basahan yong "The Known World." Grabe. May audio ako then binabasa ko while listening sa audio kaya super tagal kong binasa.

message 165: by Rollie (new)

message 166: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasm) | 2441 comments KD, nice to meet you. I tend to get serious once in a while. It is good to know i can reinvent myself and take on mature roles.

Lovelots,
Klaudia Koronel (o, kilala mo ba ako? hahahaha!)

message 167: by kwesi 章英狮 (new)

Haha.

message 168: by Rollie (last edited Mar 26, 2012 06:36AM) (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments Kwesi my dear, umabot ako ng 1/3 at basahin mo ulit kasi from the beginning emo na agad. haha

message 169: by kwesi 章英狮 (new)

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments Ha? 1/3 lang. It doesn't make sense. :P Haha.

message 170: by Rollie (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments Well, does it even need a sense? :P

message 171: by kwesi 章英狮 (new)

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments Which? I mean which "it" exactly should even need a sense?

message 172: by Rollie (last edited Mar 26, 2012 07:02AM) (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments OT.

The same "it" you pertained for not making sense.

message 173: by Maria Ella (new)

message 174: by Rollie (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments Ella. OO naman. Logic!
At dahil logic nga at naintriga ka sa The Known World, ikaw ngayon ay ang dakilang intrigera. :D

message 175: by kwesi 章英狮 (last edited Mar 26, 2012 07:08AM) (new)

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments Why should be me? It should be you, I mean the word "it" can pertain to many non-living and non-gender specific organism. Plus, there are too much in my head. Just point it, the "it". And what is OT? And again, I'm asking you at first place. So you should answer what I'm asking for.

message 176: by Rollie (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments Igzaktly! I was just depending upon your tits it's uncertain meaning. My question was rhetoric but dependent still upon your meaning.

message 177: by kwesi 章英狮 (new)

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments Yeah, I know. That's the reason why I asked you. Okay? Now answer or leave it. Anyway, I'm not interested anymore. All I can say is that, you are L... Mmmm... Smiling. Back to watching Bones.

Chami! Klaudia Koronel ka diyan! Napanood ko yung movie mo, yung Live Show.

Rollie, binalahura mo ang The Known World? Napakagandang libro niyan!

Ella, maraming The Known World sa Book Sale. Go buy one! I think maaappreciate mo ito. The Gathering nga naappreciate mo eh, hehehe.

message 182: by Maria (new)

Klaudia Koronel: Masanay ka na dude! Simula't sapul nag-aaway na kami.

~What's wrong with the world, dude? Hot mommas are everywhere!

message 184: by K.D. (last edited Mar 27, 2012 05:29PM) (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments KK: I know your movies! I liked Tuhog since I think you were riding a horse there in nude hahaha. You even have this goodlooking man on top of you on top of the mountain. Real mountain. Not your mountains hahahaha.

AM: I know your movies too. But I loved you more in Survivor. Kaso, you lost despite all your alliances. You wicked, wicked woman.

Rollie: You are right. "The Known World" is not an easy read. I also understand that it could be something that's not easy to relate with because we didn't have black slaves here in the Philippines. The writing is also a bit challenging since it is a literary (generally written not for entertainment but for giving deeper perspective in life) book. However, some of the entertaining books (like our favorite "Ender's" series) can also give deeper perspective in life. So, magulo lang talaga. Sometimes, because there is so much sense, nagiging pointless na ang debate. Kasi nawawala na ang sense ng sense.

message 185: by Rollie (last edited Mar 28, 2012 07:37AM) (new)

Rollie (zheick) | 2096 comments Literary books challenge comprehension while sci-fi or fantasy books challenge imagination.

Deeper understanding I think still depends on the reader. Oftentimes, we understand because we relate. Just remembering how Halse's Speak made me. :P
