message 51: by LadyDisdain (new)

LadyDisdain I really need to get my hands on the 2009 Emma. It's been out for so long now and I still haven't watched it >.< Raarr!! Frustration ville. Must get around to it soon. Although I really love Paltrow's Emma as well.

And LOVE it when Knightley says he'd rather fetch that stick than go to the ball and Emma replies that she'll tyr and remember to bring the stick - hehe!! Such humor!

I like the Harriet in the Gwyneth Paltro version. (is that the same??) the new BBC one she seems....idk...TOO ditsy! and I dont like her voice. :P

Sophie | 2550 comments Mod
I know what you mean but I find that she is too old in the 1996 one and I think she is really innocent and therefore easy to be led and influenced by Emma .... Just my opinion :)

message 57: by Caity, that crazy moderator (new)

Caity | 4434 comments Mod
yea she does LOOK too old. :/ yea, I do like how she LOOKS better for Harriet in the BBC one, but her character is portrayed better in the 1996 version. ;)

Sophie | 2550 comments Mod
yes i know what you mean!
and Steph - recommend the 1996 GP version because it is really good - i think! and Jemeramy Northam - <3 *swoon*

Caity | 4434 comments Mod
yes, that version IS really good. its a little differant watchng after the BBC version, cause the BBC is just ...better. but it is VERY well done. :)

message 81: by LadyDisdain (new)

LadyDisdain Yup, don't watch "Mansfield Park" - Edmund Bertram is an annoying character anyway - I didn't like him in it, even though I haven't seen him in Emma.

Caity | 4434 comments Mod
*gasp* I forgot u haven't seen Emma!!! Lol yea Edmund has a weak character. :/

Anna (SylviaGrant) | 232 comments There's a man who's never going to let us down, and not even an army can get in the way. He's the last of his kind. He has a name, but the people of our world know him better... as The Last Centurion.
