You should read Tales of Shadowhunter academy before Lady Midnight, otherwise you will be spoiled.

This is the order you should read them according to the official website of Cassandra Clare, but the spoilers aren't that big though? (I just finished The Bane Chronicles.)

1. infernal devices
2. last hours
3. mortal instruments
4. dark artifices

as for the novellas i have no idea because those books have different stories from all the different series. maybe read them after you read all the series??

I suggest reading TMI alternative to TID then Tales from Shadow Hunter Academy, The Bane Chronicles (explains a lot), The Shadow Hunters codex (not necessary) then TEC then TDA (broke my heart and then kinda fixed it again) then the first 2 chapters of The Ghosts of the Shadow Market then read TLH then finish the rest of The Ghosts of the Shadow Market. I found that reading it this way linked every event in order of how the story played out :)

ofc any way you read it is great but this is how I prefer to read it!
