Same with http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... which I meant to add as a version and instead became a new book. CAn it please be combined with http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/72... ?I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Please also combine http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... (a Russian translation) with the English editions: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58...

Also, there's no cover for http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...
There is one at the publisher's page[1] but of mediocre quality. There's a better one at a local bookseller[2] but I don't know if it's OK to use it. I have uploaded their covers for some books I bought from them but today I have found a link to a forum topic[3] in Librarian's manual[4] that says that it's not acceptable to get images from any bookseller.
EDIT: Actually cover [1] is just very small and stretched on publisher's page.

Hello. I tried to add a new edition and I created a new book. Could you combine it?
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
Thank you
I would like to delete this edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/90...and this edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/85...
But I'd like to combine the comments from those older editions and add to the new, available, republished, new publisher, updated cover, new ISBN edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
Is that possible? It's confusing for readers to see multiple editions.
Thanks for assistance,
Larry
#71 - Done. We're not supposed to use images from Amazon or other booksellers, Diane. I couldn't find another online source for the cover so I downloaded the book, took a picture of the cover from my screen, edited it and then uploaded. It took a few tries to get a decent shot, but I think I finally did.
Larry, I'm not a moderator or anyone with any clout. But I've seen this question asked before, and the answer has always been that Goodreads is more like a library than a bookseller. Old editions aren't taken off the shelves when new editions come out because people usually like to see the cover art of their edition on their shelves. The new editions are simply combined with old ones so all are easily accessed.
With that guideline in mind, I've gone ahead and combined the three books (2 old ones, one new) so that when you run across one, you have easy access to all of them.

@Tntexas - I appreciate your quick assistance. I understand, and your explanation was very helpful - Larry
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...-tuesday-night-club looks like should be combined with 0553 350 48X or at least into series, but my internet connection dies, so I only got as far as adding Miss Marple series to title.
Thanks.
Re 85 - do you have the book at hand? Authors website indicates it was published as a short story in a magazine or in an anthology of 13 Problems only.
Magazine short stories and individual stories from anthology's should not be added.
For the time being I have combined into the anthology editions
I just noticed an unknown book on my TBR list and attempted to rescue it. The only information for the unknown book is its ASIN so I searched by that.ASIN: B000JML76U
The book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/85...
When I went to rescue the book it said that the ISBN was already taken by an existing book, but the existing book is the same book. There's at least one page of results for the book title but this appears to be the version that the ISBN goes with: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...
I'm not sure this is the right place to ask but it seemed like the closest option.
Hello! I need to combine two sets of books:First, original book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...

I think the added bit of the title "An Epic Poem" may have been an addition in the Russian edition - is this why it created it as a new book rather than the new version?
