Liz Gruder (lizgruder) | 3 comments Hi, I'm Liz Gruder, author of YA STARSEED, releasing Feb. 5, 2013 by WiDo Publishing (but I have eARCs available now).
Starseed by Liz Gruder
The protagonist is half ET.
If you enjoy Jennifer L'armentrout (Lux series), Beth Revis, Roswell High, I Am Number Four, Stephenie Meyer's The Host ... STARSEED is in that ballpark-- but with its own voice & vision.
Thanks for providing this author thread!

Beth Michele (bethmichelewriter) | 11 comments Hi all!

I have a new Mature Young Adult Romance coming out in about a month called Love Love and I thought I'd post a snippet. Enjoy and thanks for reading!!!
----------------------------------------

This was the moment I’d waited for my entire life, or so I thought. That’s if you consider seventeen years an entire life. It started out as a perfect day, but perfection can be an illusion.

Our blue gowns were fanning the breeze as we made our way up to the podium. The wind blowing through my hair made me feel alive, and free. I was inches away from my long awaited independence. All those days I sat on the bleachers watching football games and daydreaming about life after high school, and it was finally here. My feet were making their way up the stairs quickly. They had a mind of their own and I had difficulty keeping up with them. They obviously knew something I didn’t.

Mr. Shorley shook my hand firmly as he happily handed me my diploma. The sun’s rays bouncing off the paper gave it a rare glow. This was my golden ticket. Even better than a lifetime supply of wonka bars.

Emily Craven (emilycraven) | 18 comments Well I suppose it never hurts to let people know you have something out hey? I've just release a YA comedy set in Facebook called The Grand Adventures of Madeline Cain: Photographer Extraordinaire. The whole tale is told through status updates, private messages and notes. Just got it reviewed by Midwest Book review which was super positive. It also has an interactive facebook component if anyone has a Facebook Obsession!

Newsfeed [Share your thoughts]

Madeline Cain Photographer Extraordinaire: Put this on your status if you know someone (or are related to someone) who has been eaten by dragons. Dragons are nearly unstoppable and in case you didn't know, they can breathe fire. 93% of people won't copy and paste this, because they have already been eaten by dragons. The other 7% are sitting in the shower armed with fire extinguishers.
---Posted 15 hours ago [Comment . Like]

Madeline has achieved her dream, acceptance into world famous photographer, Jason I’Anson’s, exclusive college in New York. Like many people of her generation who travel overseas, she turns to Facebook as a medium to pass on news and keep in touch with her family and friends. But her move from the sleepy Australian town of Adelaide to New York City doesn’t exactly turn out as she expected. From her first meeting with her chain smoking, club crazy house mate and his superhero Mexican Chameleon, Duncan (who can move from one side of the room to the other in a blink of eye), she knew she was in for an interesting time. Add an umbrella rigged by her brother to yell abuse at surrounding pedestrians when it rains, pizza deliveries to porn sets and being pulled in by the FBI for questioning after an explorative stint into spy photography, and things move from the interesting to the ridiculous.

Egged on by her Australian Facebook friends, Kathy the hypochondriac and Tim, who has a strange sexual affinity for electrical appliances, Madeline tries to find her feet in the big city. But this may be harder for her to achieve than first thought, after she accidentally blackmails a famous model cheating on her boyfriend.

In a world of status updates, blogs and photographic file sharing, where everyone who adds you can follow your every move, how the hell is Madeline supposed to get out of the hole she found herself in?

Beth Michele (bethmichelewriter) | 11 comments Hi everyone!

I have a new Mature Young Adult novel coming out soon called Love Love. Here is the synopsis and link: Thank you!

--------------------------------

Gabrielle Willis is smart. She's funny. And oh yes, she's a bit klutzy.

When Gabrielle leaves sunny California bound for the energy of Manhattan, she was willingly leaving the life she had known, for the new life she would create. But was she really leaving something behind, or was she running away.

On the outside Gabrielle Willis has it all under control. A new life in Manhattan, a great roommate, and a good job. But she was haunted. Haunted by a a memory she's tried to forget, and by a family who's abandoned her. But what happens when what's on the outside is only an illusion, and in perfect contradiction to what's buried deep within.

Enter Dane Rhodes. He's gorgeous, smart, and sexy as hell. Just what Gabby wants, or so she thinks. But when she meets Brad Dixon, the sweet guy with the crooked smile, he begins to make her see that the very thing she is trying to run from, is the very thing that just may push her to see the light.

I'll give a Free copy to anyone who will review it.

"Gold Medal Threat, was very interesting and hard to put down. It is a perfect book for teens and preteens. It is written exactly how a teenager would think, act, and speak. It's amazing how in this book teens are treated as adults with respect. The story was very suspenseful and mysterious. The crime was a great choice for the setting. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. It was, without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever read." Breanna Gardner (age 12)

Mary Meddlemore (marymeddlemore) Read if you dare!

No zombies, werewolves or vampires. :) Life is scary enough and a frightening journey, as we all know. And evil has a human face! "The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference." (Eli Wiesel)

They used to live in a city with a sun and two moons. No one was allowed to leave except the four young ultimate warriors once a year. The first one who returned to the City was acclaimed as the Champion. Nina was determined that she would be triumphant, but nothing could have prepared her for the horror she discovered outside the City Walls.

This is "their" story, but is it our story too? We can come and go as we please. Can we? Will we KNOW what is going on if we live in similar times as these? They didn't know ...Is the story history or prophecy? Can it come true? You decide …

According to all the Beta-readers In the Reign of the Ilev is a visual feast.

It is a story about love, life and hope

Loretta Nyhan (lorettanyhan) | 1 comments Hey, everyone!

My book, The Witch Collector, Part I, was just released by HarperTeen Impulse. Here's the link and synopsis:

http://www.harperteen.com/books/Witch...

The Witch Collector is a digital original novel in two parts that's a suspenseful brew of magic, dark strangers, and witchcraft—perfect for fans of the Beautiful Creatures and Mortal Instruments series.

The day after her best friend's funeral, Breeda's parents pack her up, usher her into the car, and then drive out of Oregon without looking back. Breeda doesn't know why they left so urgently or why they're headed to Chicago—but she does know that it's against the rules to leave without consulting your Coven Leader. . . . It's a crime punishable by banishment.

All her family has is each other now, in a city that feels strange, unfamiliar, and dark. But when Breeda comes home on her first night in Chicago to find their apartment ransacked and only a bloody handprint left behind, she realizes that you can't outrun the craft.

THE WITCH COLLECTOR is a paranormal romance/thriller/mystery.

Thanks so much!

Hi Natalie! Thanks for asking! :) I think the first few chapters are available to read on the Amazon page I linked to, but I’ve inserted the complete blurb:

The first time I was declared dead, I lost my past. The second time, I lost my humanity. Now I’m being hunted, and if I die again, my soul is up for forfeit.

After enrolling in Peel Academy, an elite supernatural boarding school on the British Isles, the last of the sirens, Gabrielle Fiori, only wants to fit in. Instead, the elixir meant to awaken her supernatural abilities kills her.

When Gabrielle wakes up in the morgue twelve hours later, something wicked is awakened in her, something even the supernatural community has never seen before. Now the only person who can help her is Andre de Leon, the community's infamous bad boy and the king of vampires.

Yet even his help can’t prevent the repeated attempts on Gabrielle’s life. Someone is after her, and they will stop at nothing to end her short existence. Only Gabrielle cannot let that happen now that her soul hangs in the balance, because she may have met the devil. And he wants her. Bad.

message 91: by John-Patrick (new)

John-Patrick Quinn (quinnface) Hi!

I have just published my YA novel on the kindle store, it's called 'The Fall' but it's part of a series called The Forest of Moonshade. Rather than fluff it myself, I'll just do what you'd do in the bookstore and let you read the blurb.

Old Anglia hangs in the balance. Between medieval and modern. Between monarchy and democracy. Between good and evil. Every action will tip the scales.

The Forest of Moonshade has been a silent shield for the country for aeons. It lies at the heart of the District of Sunnybank, which has tried hard to keep its traditional lifestyle, resisting, where it can, the mechanisation of the rest of the country. Sunnybank is ruled by Lord Merry Mayweather - whose sole objective is to right the wrongs of his tyrannical ancestors - but he is surrounded by neighbours who mistrust the Mayweather name.

His son Tristan has made friends with the children of his reluctant neighbours. These children that live on the borders of the forest, have grown used to a carefree independence. All this is about to change when a mysterious guardian of the forest appears with dark prophecies, and the children find themselves unwittingly drawn in to a war nearly as old as the forest itself.

They find themselves growing up under the weight of responsibility - loyalty and greed, jealousy and companionship are smashed together and result in choices that will affect each other as much as they affect the world around them.

The book has a facebook page called The Forest of Moonshade, where there are sample chapters, (and links to the Amazon page where you can get the first 10% for free too).

As well as this, I've written two shorts stories, "Moonshade Minis" that are about the background of the world the book is set in. I give them away most weekends, so liking the facebook page will let you know when the promotional giveaways are!

I'm a new author, and I'm only 23, so I need all the readers/reviews I can get :)

I know people will love this series, so hopefully you'll see this and at least try the sample chapters!

Thanks for reading!

John-Patrick

Missy | 6 comments Hello everyone!!! My best friend and I wrote a YA dystopian together and released it on June 28th. It's our debut book and we hope that people love it. It's called Branded.
Here is the synopsis:

Twenty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadliest sins were the downfall of our society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.

Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.

Now, every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.
The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

Sarah Stefaniak | 3 comments Hi!
In May I published my first novel called My Supplier. On my author profile, there is a review if you want to check it out.

Looking around at the people beside me, I felt envious. No doubt, none of these people ever had to fight for their life. None of these people had been tortured for something they didn’t even do. None of these people were stressed out over the fact that the whole government wanted them dead and that if kidnapped, Bruttons would have no way of escaping. None of these people had a life remotely close to mine, or the ugly scars and bruises to prove it.

Ceremonies are generally a day marked for celebration. But for Daisy it is a day when the rest of her life will be decided. The friends she has and the people she’s known for her entire life will be split up and shipped off to one of two different cities. Bellezas are provided with a beautiful life in paradise, while Bruttons are imprisoned in the slums of Vulcan City and forced to be personal organ donors for Bellezas.

What would you do if the world you knew, the people you loved, and your way of life was ripped away from you in a matter of moments? Would you fight for what you believe in, for what you know is right?

Apollian is on the brink of a revolution. Does Daisy have what it takes to lead her people to freedom?

You can also check out my website www.sarahstefaniak.tateauthor.com for a commercial trailer and events

Thanks so much!
