LaVerne Clark 36 - Man, do I feel old! ;)
But I'd like to know from those who've seen the movie - is it appropriate to take my 10 year-old son to the movie? What is the rating for it?
Thanks!

message 207: by Sara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sara 24. I throughly enjoyed the book! I think you should be at least 13 or so before reading to fully understand.

Catherine y'all know that somebody can figure out y'alls age by seeing this, right?

message 209: by Deanne (new) - rated it 5 stars

Deanne Chapman Haha 40. Just read it in the past few months, right around the time the movie came out. Love it so much. My daughter is reading it now, and she is 12. She loves it too. I think 12 is a great age for it.

message 210: by Jen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jen 21 :)

message 211: by Shannon (new) - added it

Shannon I was 17 (I'm 20 now).

message 213: by Olivia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Olivia Land 11, finished seris in a day and im now 12. And by the way Sara, i fully understood it and probably could have understood it at 10. We are not 5 year old running around thinking boys have cooties and the skys going to fall, people died to remind people that the capitol owns them and can hurt them at any moment-emotionally and phisically.

message 214: by Tina J (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tina J I only read it last year....so I was 23!
I began to read it once I knew the book was being made into a movie.

C.C. 17? I loved it. I keep recommending this to my younger sister but sadly she's not much of a reader.

Tanvira I was 12, nearly 13. And I thought it was fantastic. My family thought it was too mature for me though so my teacher(who recommended I in the first place) saved me saying it was fine for kids 10 and above.

message 222: by Lior (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lior Peer 11 or 12
something like that...

message 223: by Ryan (last edited May 11, 2012 03:31AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ryan I finished reading it a few weeks ago, so I would have been 25.
Currently reading Catching Fire.

As for the best age (or youngest)?
Each person is different. I went and saw Die Hard 3 at the movie theaters when I was 9 and saw quite a few violent and graphic movies at a young age.

message 228: by Cara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cara i was and am 14! I started it a couple months before the movie came out, but am now in love with the series so for the people that say "You can't be a big fan if you only started when you found out there was a movie" then you're wrong...

message 229: by Julia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Julia 21, and I really enjoyed the book.

I think I would have read it as young as 10 or so.

Yup! Same with me! Though I read just a few days b4 the movie. I was gonna read it a few years before but there wasn't anyone or anywhere I could borrow it.

Christopher Though I was too old at 47, but see others much "younger at heart" ahead of me :)

message 232: by Joanne (new) - rated it 5 stars

Joanne Moyer 55 - and I loved the whole series
I wish we had books like this when I was 12 or 13
I just think it's great to see that so many 'younger' people are reading

message 243: by Shawn (new) - rated it 4 stars

Shawn 40. I've read some books in the last few years because my kids and their friends were reading them and I wanted to know what they were reading (Twilight series, Eragon series, Hunger Games trilogy). For the most part I've enjoyed them. It's been fun to share a love of reading with them also.
