The Hunger Games
discussion
How old were you when you read this?

That was a really smooth way of not giving out your age online
:)

Sorry, out of curiosity: Who is in your profile picture?

19.
About the age-issue. I think a kid should read this when he want's to. Yes, I'm not a parent so I might me wrong but a person, kid knows when he want's to stop reading because it's too horrific or too violent. At least, I knew when to.
Give the kid a chance, because this book actually has a some valuable lessons in it.

Im about to read catching fire. Is it as good as hunger games?

When i first read it i liked it- but it took me a while to get into. Then i got to mockingjay and halfway through i stopped reading it.
I didn't have much knowledge of war and stuff like that. So i didn't get why stuff happened the way it did and didn't understand the characters actions and stuff.
A couple of months later i did my research on war and i got a better concept of the book and was able to understand the characters a lot better and the concept. Since then i've read the The Hunger Games 3 times, Catching fire about 5 times and Mockingjay twice. I really enjoy the series now and love it but it was just a slow start for me and took me a while to get into.
Now it's my 2nd favourite book series behind Harry Potter.

I had never heard of it until all of the hype about the movie started. I don't think it had been written when I was in school. Good book.
