Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments You know it's going to be a bad day when you have to make an entry in your schedule for the week that says "Klaus' funeral".

People shouldn't have to die at the age of 43.

True that! My condolences to you and others who knew Klaus.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Oh, shoot. How did Klaus die so young? Poor Martini.

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Phil, Cynthia and evie, thank you all for your warm words.
He was such a wonderful man and a really good friend. I knew him for about ten years and Mr. Martini grew up with him.

Cynthia, Klaus had a tumor at the brain stem. It was inoperable and the chemotherapy didn't work, so there was nothing left to be done for him. It was only three and a half months between the diagnosis and his death.

Cancer is such a bastard.

message 359: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Bastard indeed.

message 360: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Yes, it is.

message 378: by [deleted user] (last edited May 21, 2013 08:43AM) (new)

That ain't all. Just found out one of the girls' former friends is cutting herself because she doesn't have a boyfriend. How the hell am I going to spin this one tonight at the dinner table?

I need a fucking drink, pronto.

message 379: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Clark, we went through that shit here, too. Cutting, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts. Believe me buddy, it gets better. Those girls do eventually get better. Sometimes it takes fucking forever, though.

God love you, just love her and tell her you are there for her any time she needs to talk. Try not to judge her little friend, she is in a whole lot of pain.

message 380: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks, C.

message 381: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments You are very welcome. I thought I was going to lose my fucking mind. Now she is 21 and going off to Kalamzaoo with a clear head, fabulous goals and NO BOYFRIEND. Life is good. Knock wood.

You done good!

message 383: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I certainly can't take all the credit. Much credit to her father and to her little fool brain which slowly matured into what it is today. Plus she has a heart of gold. I love her so much. But she still knows how to drive me to drink.

message 384: by evie (last edited May 21, 2013 05:35PM) (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments I feel for you,Clark. Keep the communication channels open, and let them know there is always a safe place with you and Mrs C. No matter what happens.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Laurin I will be sure and let you know if you need to pick up a trench coat and a pair of Ray Bans.

message 388: by [deleted user] (new)

You wake up...

message 389: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Oh man.

message 390: by [deleted user] (new)

You never fall back asleep after being awakened at 3:12 a.m. by coyotes howling outside your window, sounding either like they're fornicating or fighting over a Yorkie.

message 391: by [deleted user] (new)

Barb wrote: "Maybe they were fighting over who gets to fornicate with the Yorkie."

Could be. It made me rethink my stance on gun ownership.

Beep beep!

message 392: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Just get an anvil, some black paint and a "Yikes!" sign and leave them outside. The coyotes will do the rest all by themselves.
