I went to bed pretty early last night, but Good Lord, why did the cats wake me up at 4 a.m.??? It was a nice quiet walk around the neighborhood for Carl and I. Later, we went out and saw the sun come up. It was pretty.

You have her picking up your slacks now? Outrageous.

I had a panic attack (heart racing, red in the face, talking too fast) yesterday while talking with two cops about my neighbors. Luckily I had two lovely women from the neighborhood to help with the long (16 years) sad and sometimes scary tale of the house from hell.I am calmer now.
I talked about it in another thread. Apparently my neighbor (charged twice with beating up his girlfriend, charges later dropped) likes guns. Lots of guns. There's other illegal stuff going on--lots of car and foot traffic and possibly more illegal stuff. These folks are renters, the owner gave me 15 years or so of grief. The owner's parents bought him a house to live in when he was a college freshman and a member of the football team. I could talk about it all day, but I feel my blood pressure in the danger zone.
I wish they would move out. I learned that when in doubt, just call the cops and let them know what I'm seeing. Thanks, sister Jammies.
No I disagree. My having a weapon would make this much, much worse. I had a 13 year old with suicidal thoughts once. She told me she was really glad we did not have any weapons when she was in her darkest hours.
*hugs Cyn* I felt that way myself as an adolescent with depression. In case anyone hasn't said this recently, you're an awesome mom.

Cynthia, I've experienced something similar... except it was in my family home and my brother and his friends causing the problems & I couldn't stop it. My stepmother was out of state visiting her mother who was dying (and actually did die during that visit). She left me in charge of the home & pet care. My brother and his friends wouldn't listen to me. Frankly, I was grateful for the neighbors calling the police. I called my friend who was a police office for advice... he suggested I needed to leave or else I could get arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Then he suggested I walk around the house and look for any guns or weapons... and I found a loaded shotgun in the closet and a jar full of bullets and a few other smaller guns. That was a real eye opener for me. I grabbed my stuff as quickly as I could, and also all the bullets, including the ones in the guns and I left for my friend's home. I ended up staying at the friend's (police officer and family) house for several days until my stepmother returned to town so I wouldn't get in trouble for being the adult in the house with a bunch of delinquent kids who wouldn't listen to me (I was a young 20something at the time). I got the first almost-restful sleep I'd had in days, but I stayed anxious out of concern for my brother and the stuff he was getting into...
I'm so sorry you're going through this.
Call the police on them and keep calling them. If they're having suspicious traffic and activity in the home, I can promise you, they're probably already on the police, possibly even the DEA, radar... and with frequent complaints, the police may not always be able to arrest them, but they can let the kids know they're watching... make them paranoid...
It was a sad day when my roommate's Keurig died. Especially since I had given my coffeemaker to my mom, on the basis of having the Keurig in the house. I feel for you Cat!
When you're tortured for hours by what has to be a lash in your eye that doesn't want to be found. Every time I thought it was gone and blinked it started scratching my eyeball again. Not pleasant.

Be careful. I few years back, I had what I thought was an eyelash and it wound up being something else. End result: scratched cornea. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Today I'm collecting bruises it seems. I've already smashed my knee twice and my hand came into contact with a bookcase and now looks like this:
And that's before leaving the house.
I have no idea why that picture of my hand turned out to be so huge.
I'm sure it's related to the site update they did yesterday. They must have turned off the automatic image resizing. I'm sure there's a Feedback bug thread about it. Many, many new bugs.

Yes. My favourite time of year!

Thank goodness for coffee.
