10).VanishI liked this, but not as much as Ice Cold. If I had known the story line was about very young girls sold into human trafficking, I probably wouldn't have started it. Some parts were hard to stomach.
11).The LitigatorsThis is the first book I've read by Grisham, but it won't be the last. I really enjoyed it. The sleazy low-life lawyers really added some humor to the story. I've always wanted to read A Time to Kill, so that's going on my list.

I just started The Litigators yesterday. I love John Grisham and A Time to Kill is probably my favorite. It is one of my all-time favorite movies, too. Matthew McConaughey does his character such justice especially when he delivers the closing argument in the trial. I always picture him as Jake Brigance when I read the book!
I loved the movie too. I'm sure the book is even better. I'm curious to see what you think of The Litigators.
13.)Dark PlacesThis book kept me up late at night. I just had to know how it ended. I was very disappointed in what the secret to the murders was in the end. Too farfetched for me to accept it. I would recommend this book to anyone as a very good mystery, but be warned it's extremely violent in places with graphic language as well. Heavy and dark.
14).The SurgeonOn a roll with the Tess Gerritsen books. Reading the Kindle 8-pack from the library. This is my 4th book by her and it's pretty good. 4/5 stars.
15.)The ApprenticeThis book was just ok. Maybe I'm getting a little burned out on Tess Gerritson, but this book was too similar to The Surgeon. Nothing original about it. I give this 3/5 stars.
16.) House
Just awful. Choppy dialog and hard to follow. Not a smooth read at all and the characters are being chased all through a house. I was unable to develop an attachment to any character. This book was just a mess. I rate this 1/5 stars.
18.)Defending Jacob: A NovelReally liking it!. Good style of writing. I definitely recommend this one.
19.)Larkspur CoveEnjoyable, likeable characters.
20.) Home Again
Good, sweet story.
21.) Undone
I really like this one. Graphic violence and language though.
22.)The Peach Keeper
Cute little story with a touch of mystery.
23.)Dear John
Loved it. Touching, but so sad.
24.) In CloseVery good. I'm going to read more from this author. Not too violent, but kept me guessing.
25.)Welcome to the World, Baby Girl!
I just love Fannie Flagg's books. I've read many books that I like, but I don't really remember much about them later, or didn't develop an attachment to the characters. I will really miss the characters in this book. Especially Dena, Gerry and Macky. A good read.
26.)She Makes It Look Easy: A Novel4/5 stars.
Started out a little slow, but it grew on me and absorbed me in. This is one I think will stick with me. Choices that are morally wrong and destroy entire families are hard to understand. I will be reading the author's other books too.
28.) Night RoadFor about the first half of this book I felt like I was reading a young adult story, but the second half is where the drama is. A story of poor choices, tragedy, grief, and whether forgiveness is possible. Very good book.
29.) Deeper Than the DeadGood book, some parts a bit of a stretch though. I'll definitely read the next in the series because I like the characters.
30.) SisterGoing to give this a try, but so far the writing style isn't quite my thing. I hope it's as good as the reviews say.

Just read your review! I read this book last year, and I was sort of lukewarm on it. It definitely got better as it went on though. I enjoyed her new novel 'Afterwards' much more.
I saw that one advertised. I'll try the first chapter sample. I hope it's good because it sounds like it would be.
30.) AloneCounting this one as number 30 because I was unable to finish Sister: A Novel.
Over half done with this and I have no idea who the bad guy is. I like it!
So disappointed that I saw The Descendants but didn't read it. The movie was fine but disappointing, given all of the hype, but now I'll never read the story.
31.)Looking for AlaskaI'm still thinking about how I felt about this YA book. The first half I didn't really like at all, but then by the second half I cared what happened. I think it left an impression though.
32.)The BrethrenGood book. Was a little slow starting, but once it did, I was hooked. Gotta love those sleazy lawyers.
34.)The Flight of Gemma HardyVery good, but very long. It took me a few minutes and scanning over the ending a couple times to figure out if she was imagining or if it was really happening.

I really liked this one. Can't wait to try more from this author. Kind of reminded me of the type of story like Year the Colored Sisters Came to Town, which I loved.
2).Ice Cold
I just discovered this author, and I thought this book was great. It's part of a series of 9 so far, and I just found out there is a t.v. show based on this series. I want to watch the first season of that.
3).The Descendants
The book was pretty good. The subject matter is very serious and dark. I know these are angry kids because what is happening with their mom, but the are lacking in parental guidance and their dad plays more of a friend roll than a parent. Definitely better than the movie, which didn't work for me at all.
4).The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
I liked parts of this and then it would have slow parts. Overall, I'm glad I read it, but there were times I wanted to give up.
5).The Quickie
Pretty good book, but somewhat predicable.
6).Heart Divided, A: Heart of the Rockies #1
Kind of liked it, but I'm not really impressed with this predictable kind of story line, and the sappy endearments drive me crazy.
7).The Giver
Good, but leaves you hanging, and the second book of the series doesn't wrap up what happened in the first. It starts with new characters.
8).Almost Home
Pretty good, but I've read better books by her. Pretty predictable.
9).Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
This is definitely for older kids, because of the story line and language. Kind of interesting and different story line.
