(spoiler Alert) I think all the shaking and screaming at the hospital was Charley's emotions going "Postal". That's why Reyes said "finally"....Me? I would have smacked that coffe haired devil on the back of his head! Yes, he's a putz...but he's MY "book boyfriend"!

Reyes needed Charlie's skills, used her and put her in danger. The only difference between Reyes and her father is that Reyes is hot and sizzles in bed. To think of daddy that way is just plain sick, yuck!
The part in the book I am referring to is when he shows up when she is with his father. Look for what he says to her then...
I feel so sad for Charlie...all the men she loves use her in some way. :(

I too wanted to see some real life dancing in the sheets, in the shower, up against a wall...oh who cares how or where. With Reyes, sparks would have flown no matter what!

Ubie is the best... I am hoping for a Ubie and Cookie pairing. My fingers are crossed.
As soon as Chalie learned how her guardian would come about, I had a feeling it would be the dog, but kept hoping for it not to be Garrett because Darndya said she had a new idea for him...
Now I can't wait for the next book to find out what is in store for Garrett...I wonder if he received any new powers while in the afterlife and will be able to assist Charlie in the up coming war?

Will the dog guard against demons, nasty humans and ghost or will he just protect her from nasty ghosts?
Can humans even see the dog?
Is Reyes her guardian from demons? Could Garrett possibly become her guardian from nasty humans?
I thought it weird the girl could get near Charlie but Garrett could not...the dog would not allow him in the room. Was it because it was not his time? Or is he going to turn evil? Oh, I really hope he stays nice and can remember everything he heard from the angels...Ms. Jones did say she had something in mind for him and it is driving me mad to learn what it is. ARGH:(
Oh, Charlie definitely needs to pump the mistress for information...Reyes does not trust her enough to simply give it to her. ARGH again!!!!
I think Darynda mentioned somewhere that in book 4 (or one of those to come) we realise why Charley doesn't know about her powers and why nobody tells her about them. Moreover, I think she can destroy Reyes and that's why he seems a bit torn on what she can do. After all, he also had to re-learn everything.And from this forum when Darynda came: "Mel, well, he is just a PI/skip tracer, but............ in book four that kind of changes..... kind of. At the very end. Now I'm giving too much away!!!! Shutting up!"
So I guess he won't remember in the beginning of the 4th book?...
I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.I hope Garrett does become a bigger part of the story and I hope he remembers it all. I think we're going to see Charley doing some deep soul searching. Who can she trust? Life has handed her a whoopin' and now we need to see her come into her own and have the power to "SEE" who needs whoopin' back! She's mentally and physically hurt by those she trusted. I don't know if she'll strike back or crawl within till something yanks her back out to face what she CAN change. But it should be interesting!

I just hope he becomes a bigger part of the story...maybe him and Gemma? I think he is so cute and playful. Charlie and Garrett are too much like brother and sister to be together. I know he is attracted to her or at least jokes about it, but once they were to kiss I believe it would be like gross, yuck this is like kissing a relative. Garrett is adorable...I want more of him and I hope the story line includes him as a good guy. I keep my fingers crossed for a great change!

Dana, I am glad to be back. My i-Pad magically fixed itself. It would not work for a week and then poof it did. Do not know why but so happy to be among the living again. Now my husband's computer is broken again Technology, can't live without it but it can sure drive you nuts when it is not working. :p

We are crazed about her work, Reyes, Charlie, Cookie and now loving Ubie. See I paid over $100 for my ARC of Perfect Blood and now I do not have to wait for that to come out. If only I did not have to teach, then I can have a blog site and discuss books and get ARCs all the time. That would be the life...reading and writing about what I read and then reading some more. No more kids yelling at me. No more migraines and stiff necks... To dream Ohhh

When we were talking to Darynda in one of the posts she said that we would see a mention of Mistress M in book 4 but not a lot from her. Guess we'll have to wait and see to be sure.

Garrett and Gemma would make the perfect couple...both wanting the cookie cutter style from life. Yet they both support Charley in their own way. As for Charley...something tells me things are gonna get worse before they get better. And CAN she have a happily ever after? Really?

I hope for those things for her and Reyes. It may not be the white picket fence and family type happiness but I hope for a kind of HEA. Does that make sense?
Mel, your too good. Garrett and Gremma would be perfect together. I agree with Cindy and that things are going to get worse.But what would Charleys HEA be for her?My question is, can Charley have children? We know that they had sex at least once in the flesh. What do u guys think?

It does make sense Mel. Charley doesn't lead a normal life now, so why should her HEA be any different? But I do think there is one in store for her and Reyes.

At least Charley hopes for it... in the end of "For I have sinned" the dead woman says Charley loves children (secretly) but thinks she will never have any. We also learn that Reyes thinks babies are cool, so... I guess there's a chance?
My concern is not that they can't have sex with their corporal bodies but that after all is said and done with what all the angels are gossiping over Charlie and Reyes may not be able to live in their corpal bodies any longer...they may have to be together in another way to save the world from destruction. This is something I am wondering.
Maybe Charley can corrupt Reyes into being a guardian for good. Ya think? And as guardians to the gates of Hell, they would have to procreate in order to keep that gate guarded throughout time, then there would be stories of their offspring looking for their mates. We can keep these books going forever! Yeah....that works for me :)
That would be great, Cindy! If they were immortal, they would not need offspring to keep the gates guarded...teaming up would definitely both protect heaven and prevent any others from leaving Hell.
I like Cindy's thinking in this. It works for me too, if the books don't stop. Didn't it say in the books, something from Reyes along the lines "it's time to figure out what you can do and stop playing with humans"?? Maybe Mel's right and they both will leave their bodies.Adding another two cents to the pile, I think Charley's more powerful then Reyes and that's why he won't teach her anything.

I agree with you I too finished it in one night and that was with breaks to make sure I didn't finish it I want book for so bad I feel like a addict lol I even have tons of books to read but I will be rereading this book first lol
