I would like to request that Patrick or someone else on staff send out a message to everyone on goodreads explaining the current status of the site. There is a lot of confusion out there about how to continue rescuing books. People are uploading images from amazon. Is this a problem? I have no idea how to help people rescue a book that has no title or author name. How is this to be done?

You mean this, rivka?

Two main things: Users who know (from their reviews, I guess), and continuing imports. I believe two more started up today (from new sources).

How can a user know which book is attached to a review with no title and author? This is especially difficult if it's a book on the tbr shelf.

And, I really think a general "State of the Site" message would be really helpful right now, before good intentions turn into mistakes.

Actually, I would be able to do so from about 1/3 of my reviews (excluding the ones that are only a few words). Either because the title actually is in my review at some point, or because enough other info is there. For those which cannot so be identified, they'll have to wait for the continuing and ongoing additional imports.

FYI, Patrick and Otis don't generally read this group on a regular basis. Try sending a message via "contact us" on the help page.

I have Patrick's email -- will do! :)

I found this by accident. It explains a little of the situation.

I'm glad you found it, too, Brenda!
