Thoughts: Whew, this series is a roller coaster. The Weather Warden books follow the adventures of Joanne Baldwin, a Weather Warden -- somebody who controls the weather and helps mitigate natural disasters. They accomplish this with the help of supernatural creatures named djinn, who aren't always happy about the way they're used. The first book (Ill Wind) starts off with Joanne on the run: there's a price on her head, but she's not willing to suffer for it.

This is book 7 in the series, so I'm hesitant to give a detailed summary because of spoilers - this is an incredibly fast-paced series, with plot twists and cliffhangers galore. I thought the previous book was especially disappointing (there was an evil twin/doppelgänger plot that made me think Caine was running low on ideas), but this more than made up for it. I thought it was actually at the same level of quality as the first three, which is always a good thing. The thing I love most about this series is its diverse cast of characters; Joanne's a fierce protagonist, and the supporting characters are just as notable.
