It's 7:31 am and I'm fixing to let my kindergarten kiddos in the door to start their morning work...another school week...53 work days left til summer though, and, yes, I start my countdown at day one, haha.

I was hoping the group would have some sort-of general chat thread where I could post and get some feedback on something but this seemed like the best alternative so, OK, so the part I hate the most about writing is the one or two paragraph book description that's going to sell your story to readers. I always just want to hand my manuscript to someone and say "Just read it," but I know its necessary to have a good description to hook people. So I was wondering if maybe some of you could read what I've got going on in my head right now and let me know what you think. Good, bad, or in between please give me your feedback. Honesty may make me cry but it will--hopefully--make me a better writer.

A life she couldn't remember...

Kari Tucker was the typical high school senior, stressing over grades and worrying about getting into a good college, until she passed out one night at the mall and woke up in a stranger's bedroom. Her life soon becomes anything but typical. Why does the stranger who kidnapped her seem so familiar? What's up with the bright orange ring of fire burning in the sky? Why does everyone keep insisting she's speaking a foreign language? And what does the strange X-word everyone keeps calling her actually mean?

It isn't long before Kari realizes she's a lot further from home than she ever imagined, and that's only the beginning. What if everything she thought she knew about her life was a lie?

I really like the way that sounds! Are you writing a book? If so, I'd love to read anything you have so far. The idea is really promising, if you ask me :D

Boyfriend is working at the bar and daughter is at dad's house! Almost dragged my butt to Barnes & Nobles, but I didn't feel like getting out of PJs (no I don't do PJs in public like many do).

Thanks so much! I've got a lot of mixed feedback on it, and have rearranged somethings since I posted this. The manuscript is finished (YAY!) and now in the stages of editing/reviewing. I'm deadlining myself to have it done by the end of April then going to indie pub on the Kindle (looking into Nook as well).

Drove home from work in a snowstorm. Spent an hour shovelling the driveway. Another half an hour to help push my neighbours stuck car into his garage (guess he'll shovel first next time...lol...). Fell on the ice on my way back to my house, scraped my knee and possibly sprained my thumb.

Looks like pizza and hot chocolate for supper!! Add a good book and a fireplace and its ALMOST all worth it ;-)
