Can't wait to get a fresh start with the Spring Challenge - it looks great!

I can't find it on goodreads, but it's a French version of The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.
It was actually really interesting to read it in Dumas' original tongue. There's a lot more sarcasm in the French than comes off in the English. It was good.

Hayes, which version of The Secret Garden did you watch?
Dunno... I saw it about 5 years ago (I think...), dubbed in Italian unfortunately, which never helps - I really prefer subtitles.
I remember it being really stilted and awkward (very well might have been the italian dubbers) and with none of the joy of the book. The dialogues were so lame that we started laughing out loud.

Jeane asked: For which task could we read the secret life of bees? Was it the african task or the civil rights movement?
I used it for the civil rights movement, but it would be okay for the other as well, I think. Did you like it? I thought it was slow getting off the ground, but the overall was satisfying.

Looks great. However, I'm going to sit this one out and come back in 3 months time for the next one:
I've loved this challenge, which has really got me into my reading more.
(I've read 17 books so far, in the last 3 months, which is amazing for me !)
And I've enjoyed looking for books to fit the categories.
However, I've been saving up books that have caught my eye but I couldn't get to fit any of the categories (so I haven't been able to read them yet!)
So, I'm going to take a break and catch up on some of those lovely books, including some that I've picked for the challenge, but won't get to read before the end of the week !
That said, most of this week, I'm on holiday at home, so you can guess what I'll be doing ! :-)

I’m Beth from (MN).

for the task dealing with the Oscars, any chance i can use a book with the Oscars as a back drop, instead of a movie nominated for an Oscar? the book i'm thinking of is Celebutantes, i used it for my library book challenge, but i'd like to switch to that if possible so i can use another book i've finished for the library one.
i'm sure that won't work, i'm just trying to fit in as many books as i can, so i thought i'd try it!

4. Read A Book And Read It's Sequel. Books should be read back to back. They can be any two books from a series (not necessarily book 1 & 2) but should be read in order i.e. book 3 then book 4 not book 5 then 8.
The Sisters Grimm - Books 1 (The Fairy-Tale Detectives) and 2 (The Unusual Suspects)

This challenge ends on Saturday, but a new one (OFFICIAL SPRING CHALLENGE) is starting Sunday, if you'd rather wait and start fresh with everyone. This is the link: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

Well I almost made my 100 point goal. I'm satisfied anyway, because I had a lot of personal successes: I joined the library; I broke my reader's block; I read a lot of really neat things; and I had a really good time. Who could ask for anything more!
