Melissa (sweetmelissa818) quick question:
for the 15 point #8 What if one of our resolutions is to read more?

message 1064: by Eva-Marie (new)

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) I'm pretty sure I saw someone who had their resolution as to read more non-fiction so they picked a non-fiction book. :) My resolution is similar so I've been thinking about the same thing almost.

message 1065: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1826 comments Yes Andrew I believe I did say that rain could count as a winter weather world...in fact in rained where I am all day today!

Eva/Melissa - Yes my New Year's Resolution is to read more non-fiction so I'm reading a non-fiction book...so if that or simply reading more is your resolution you could pick up and read any book or a book suggestion book like
1001 Books for Every Mood: A Bibliophile's Guide to Unwinding, Misbehaving, Forgiving, Celebrating, Commiserating.

message 1066: by Eva-Marie (new)

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) I knew I saw that somewhere! :)

message 1067: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (sweetmelissa818) Another question:
for the historical fiction...what qualifies? Right now I'm reading A Northern Light which is based on a murder that occurred in 1906 (a book called An American Tragedy was also written about this). And I found a book that is the diaries of the murderer(The Prison Diary and Letters of Chester Gillette: September 18, 1907 through March 30, 1908), so I guess it's pretty famous.

message 1068: by Eva-Marie (new)

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) Can anyone throw a few ideas out for me for this one? I tried the link and I don't see anything for this exact category still. I know it must be there because others must have found some but I can't find it. :( I'm fairly open to just about anything reading wise but I'm not big on romance or sci-fi. I tried looking through the posts but that's long work so I thought maybe a few people who knew of some could give me some hints? Please? :)

9. The Oscar’s are coming: Read a Book or Play Whose Movie Counterpart Was Nominated or That Won in the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay Category and Watch the Film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A...

message 1069: by El (new)

El Eva, are you using the right link? When I clicked on your link I got something rather bizarre. Try this link.

You should be pulling up a list of Academy Award movies...

message 1070: by Eva-Marie (new)

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) Wow- thanks! That's so strange. I used the link that I found on a post here but something must have happened somewhere. To be brutally honest- I'm not all that computer savvy so if it's even possible which I don't know, I could have messed something up. LOL
This did work though- I have it opened right now. Thanks so much!!

Bonnie | 271 comments I also have a question for the moderator. I finished The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary. Could I count that for #7 under the 10 Points Category (Read A Book Where The Main Character Is Mentally Or Physically Handicapped.)? It's nonfiction, but Dr. W. C. Minor, the Madman of the title and one of the main focuses of the book, was clinically insane.
