Good morning! This week I'm starting on The Dead by Charlie Higson, Blood Rights by Kristen Painter, and Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick

Re-reading Archangel's Kiss and loving it all over again, and tomorrow starting Dragon Actually by G.A. Aiken. Oh, and re-reading Eloisa's Desperate Duchesses.

I finally finished reading Paula Brandon's The Traitor's Daughter. No sex, a forced marriage, dozens of characters, and many made-up words to track made this difficult to follow on my e-reader. I consider this a below-par YA novel, ripe for a sequel which may not be published. I have found numerous better books out there; therefore, I cannot recommend this one. Perhaps she'll do better with her next book.

I am working on Lorraine Heath's Pleasures of a Notorious Gentleman and Waking Up With the Duke.

I'm reading Confessions from an Arranged Marriage by Miranda Neville and liking it despite my initial unhappiness with the H/H pairing.

Janga, I look forward to your thoughts when you're done. I've been away from the Burgundy Club for a while but remember liking the CFAM heroine character in earlier books.

I'm reading RITA books this week--entries for the Romance Writers of America contest. So fun reading a new-to-me author and falling in love with her work.

Theresa, I loved Minerva in the other Burgandy Club books and thought she came close to stealing The Dangerous Viscount. I have been looking forward to her book since then. But I was not expecting this hero, or rather I was not expecting him to be a hero at all. But it's proving interesting, very interesting. :)

I'm feeling like Monica did last week! LOL I just can't seem to stay with a book. I've picked up 2 historicals that I KNOW will go on my keeper shelf, but for some reason I just can't seem to get into them. I just got a notice that Colorado Dawn is ready for me to pick up at the library. I'm excited about jumping into that one so hopefully Kaki Warner can break my dry spell.

I was going to post last week, Monica, that when this has happened to me in the past I either switch genres (like Janga suggested) or re-read some of my old favorites and that gets me back into the swing of things. So if Kaki doesn't do the trick it's on to Lisa Kleypas, Robyn Carr or SEP :)

Irisheyes, what's your favorite SEP? I'm continuing my glom of her backlist. About to take a batch back to the library and get the remaining ones I haven't read. :) So far my favorite is Dream a Little Dream. Wasn't that one of yours, too, Janga? I also loved Natural Born Charmer.

Dream a Little Dream is a favorite, Theresa. First Lady is another.

Irisheyes, I'm reading The Other Guy's Bride, by Connie Brockway. So far so good! Lol!!!

Theresa and Janga, Dream a Little Dream is my FAVORITE SEP book! It was also my first SEP, and while I really really enjoyed the others, I LOOOOVED this book! I can still remember Gabe and Rachel!

I'm reading Manda's book, and enjoying it very much. :)

I love SEP's books and somehow I'd forgotten about Dream a Little Dream. I love love LOVE that book. Now I need to add it to my TBRR pile (as if I have time to re-read when I don't have time to READ -- LOL).

Theresa, it's hard for me to choose just one but I would probably go with It Had To Be You or Match Me If You Can. When I do a re-read of her stuff I will usually do It Had To Be You, Heaven Texas, This Heart of Mine and Match Me If You Can. I love Bobby Tom! I'm also a big fan of Lady Be Good for the humor.

I liked Dream a Little Dream more on the re-read than I did when I first read it. I had a problem with the way Gabe treated Rachel's son. It just didn't sit well with me. The more I read it, though, the more I like it. I loved the secondary story with Gabe's parents. I also loved the secondary story in Natural Born Charmer with Dean's parents. SEP does awesome secondary stories.

Oh man, I forgot about Ain't She Sweet and Kiss An Angel. Kiss An Angel has one of the best black moments and grovelling scenes. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. And with Ain't She Sweet SEP took me from hating the heroine to loving her within the span of that book. And Breathing Room has one of my favorite epilogues!

Can you tell I can't choose a favorite?! :)

I forgot to mention Heaven, Texas -- and Bobby Tom IS one of my "book boyfriends". LOL So maybe I didn't forget. I was just hoping everyone else would forget. LOL

LOL, Irish! Ditto! I had three books lined up this week and so far I've only read one. Not even one, since I'm still at the beginning of it. Boo!

I love all the SEP recommendations! I started reading her just recently, and I'm a complete convert. I've never read such excellent secondary romances, and her dialogue is so much fun.

Still need to read: Kiss an Angel, Ain't She Sweet, First Lady, Call Me Irresistible. And then I'll be all caught up, but fortunately she'll have a new book out this summer. :)

Ain't She Sweet is one of my favorites, too!
This week, I read a freebie ebook by Nicky Charles called Bonded. It's a werewolf series, so be warned if you don't tend to like that stuff. Personally, I thought it was her best book so far; weighty also, at 999 pages. I started reading her books because Nicky Charles reminds me of the Nick & Nora mystery movies from the 1930's.

I am enjoying Maggi Andersen's Hostage to Fortune, which was a free e-book for a while. HOSTAGE TO FORTUNE
