December Group Read Voting Is CLOSED!!
Let It Snow by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myracle. (which I will be reading on the airplane)
Scott and Kate... I have seen the movie. It's so powerful. I actually just picked this book up online after seeing it on my brothers list. I'd really like to read it, although, if it's as good/better than the movie, I'll have to carry a box of tissues with me.
For me the Movie was much more emotional than the book, but it takes alot for a book to my me cry. Although, Kite Runner did alot to make up for others in the crying dept.
Now I really hope it gets picked, just so I can compare the book with the movie :) My brother recommended the movie to me years ago. I remember how hard I cried and what an impact it had on me. Maybe I'm biased because of my brother, but I think it's something that everyone could benefit from watching/reading.
no classics...? Portrait of a Lady - Henry James
Andrew: va benissimo cosi' (perfect)

Conni,
Only one nomination please. Please go back to your posts and delete two of the three you nominated. There are so many people in this group that it wouldnt be fair to them (or me)to allow multiple noms.... Not to mention, if everyone did it, Oye Vey... The list would be from here to the moon :)
Thanks!

I second (and third) Kelly and Fiona and propose "Skipping Christmas" by John Grisham. It's perfect for the season - both holiday and electoral!
I second A Christmas Carol, Karen. I think it would be a perfect read for December. I just ordered the Jim Dale audio version. I had a chance to listen to some of it and was sold on it.
I love Andrew's suggestion of If on a Winter's Night a Traveler and Jen's nomination for The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. I'll probably end up voting for The Spirit Catches... because I loved it so much when I read it, but I still feel compelled to nominate something. How about War and Peace to get us through the winter doldrums?
I already voted...but just wondering about "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler." I've tried 2 Calvino's and so far I just don't "get" him. But, I've heard good things about Winter's Night. Maybe three time's a charm?
Ok, it's probably a bit campy for y'all, but I need something light for December because my life is hell in December. So I nominate He Sees You When You're Sleeping : A Novel by Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark.
This is getting messy.
Conni, now I no longer see any nominations from you. I thought there was a post that had one nom, and one post that had two titles in it?
Eileen, Second and third-ing someones nomination is not required.
Donna, only one nomination per person. You must remove one of them.
***********************
Before anyone posts, they should be reading the guidelines in the opening post. I need this process to be as simple as possible. You must post once and only once, with one nomination. In that post, I need to have the title and the authors name. If there is no author, the nomination will be thrown out.

I may have missed it Lori but I think that Logan's nomination for War and Peace wasn't added to the list. :) (you beat me to it Logan!)
Nope, Logan forgot to add the author's name. So I've got your back Logan ;) and I'll nominateWar and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.
This is a quick, humorous and warm read. Good for fitting in between everything else going on in December. An all around delightful surprise of a book. The audio is great too, if you can find it.
