Mark | 1885 comments Lol, please do, and you can have my share of the chocolate as well. None for me now. Unless its sugar free, ;)

message 2256: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments Oh that's a shame. Blood sugar issues hey?

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments I'm one of those weirdos who can't stand the scent or taste of chocolate. Well, I can do white chocolate but that's not real chocolate anyway. Plus, it's kind of too sweet.
I do understand the importance of heavy chocolate days though. Have a happy one. :)

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments It is nearly time for Church, and the Bunny has not shown up yet. I am worried that the little energizer has finally run down. On my continent the days are a tad longer than the nights. Pear trees are in full bloom. Dogwoods are just beginning to bud, as are the azaleas. The air is cool then warm, cool then warm. Tornado and flood weather. In a month the air will be wonderfully HOT and HUMID with a chance of isolated thunder showers every day.

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments As I was thinking about my family's Easter traditions the Easter tea ring I used to make came to mind. Some of you like to cook and probably have made this yeasty bread with raisins, nuts, spices and other stuff. My sister and I kept the family in babies for quite a few years. My father insisted that the chilren, no matter how young, be taken to 'big church' rather than the nursery on Easter Sunday. I can see him now holding our babies in church. The children grew up and my father died, but that memory will be mine forever.

Bobby (bobbej) | 1375 comments Thought I would send out a quick Happy Easter to all of you before my kids find that the Bunny made it to Arizona....again....and chaos reigns. Might as well give up on them eating anything healthy for the next few weeks!

message 2264: by Monica (new)

Monica Davis Sorry to break up all the lovely Easter wishes. (Mine go out to all of you as well.)

I'm not sure where to post this...didn't see a Shakespeare thread, but thought this was an interesting article.

Study shows Shakespeare as ruthless businessman

LONDON — Hoarder, moneylender, tax dodger — it's not how we usually think of William Shakespeare.

But we should, according to a group of academics who say the Bard was a ruthless businessman who grew wealthy dealing in grain during a time of famine.

Researchers from Aberystwyth University in Wales argue that we can't fully understand Shakespeare unless we study his often-overlooked business savvy.

"Shakespeare the grain-hoarder has been redacted from history so that Shakespeare the creative genius could be born," the researchers say in a paper due to be delivered at the Hay literary festival in Wales in May.

That's a shame. :(

Crystal Bryan | 305 comments Random thought from rehearsal the other day. Hamlet is part of the first Heavy Metal movie. The darned poison pearl is the Loknar! lol

message 2270: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments That is random. lol

message 2271: by Bobby (new)

Bobby (bobbej) | 1375 comments We call randomness like that to be "coming out of left field" here in the States.

message 2272: by Bryn (new)

Bryn Hammond (brynhammond) | 1505 comments I've been trying to understand that one most of the afternoon. It's good. I like left field.

message 2273: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) Well, in the spirit of left fieldness......I dyed my hair blue today. And I must say it looks pretty awesome. :)

message 2274: by Bryn (new)

Bryn Hammond (brynhammond) | 1505 comments What blue? Electric? Pastel?

message 2275: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) Electric, not a pastel fan. Kinda like this colour: http://www.bluebanana.com/shopimages/...

message 2276: by Bryn (new)

Bryn Hammond (brynhammond) | 1505 comments I guessed not pastel. That's a very nice blue.

message 2277: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) Thanks, it makes me easy to find in a crowd. :)

Nate | 416 comments I miss when women dying their hair these types of colors was popular in the States. I always thought it looked neat.

message 2282: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments I think it is still common in Japan, but it isn't common here in Australia much anymore either.

message 2283: by Bobby (new)

Bobby (bobbej) | 1375 comments Still a few here but mostly Goth Black or Boarder Blue.

message 2284: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments Goth Black will always be in fashion I think. Colours come and go, but black is timeless. :)

Tim Hodkinson (timhodkinson) | 577 comments Crystal wrote: "Random thought from rehearsal the other day. Hamlet is part of the first Heavy Metal movie. The darned poison pearl is the Loknar! lol"

I've always thought that if Hamlet had been into heavy metal music, he would have been able to cope with his situation a bit better. I see Hamlet as a bit of a Duran Duran fan. Or maybe Backstreet Boys.

message 2286: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments See, and figure Hamlet to be an closet emo dude.

message 2287: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments I could see Hamlet as emo too.

I definitely have people assume I'm either a hair dresser or a tattoo artist. Apparently those are the professions I look like I belong too.
And I have only been to two places where I don't look out of place. LA and Seattle. Even NY is pretty conservative, more accepting but out of their massive population I only saw a couple others with cool coloured hair.
And did I get the 'look' from every woman I saw in Rome. We met a young lezzy couple from LA when we were there and they had the same experience.

Still, can't beat the look on some peoples faces when they ask for a building inspector and and a young, tattooed, blue haired girl comes out to help them. :)

Do they ask you where you parked your Unicorn?

message 2290: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) I mustn't look like a Unicorn type person, no one has ever asked me that. :)

Terri | 19576 comments But the blue hair is only new. Give it time. ;)

Clearly you've not met the elderly fashionistas in Canada...They don't have unicorns either. Mostly, they have scooters.

ETA: Not that I'm saying Dawn is sporting octogenarian blue.

message 2293: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments hahahaha!!!! Dawn has joined the blue rinse brigade.

I moved to the US from Ireland last year and I have to say I've noticed just how much Americans seem to be into tattoos. Its quite surprising for a nation that appears to be so conservative to the outside. There's at least 3 tattoo parlors here in Portsmouth (NH). As a man of a certain dangerous (of making a fool of myself) age, the temptation to go to one (obviously after I buy a motorbike/convertible car) is becoming increasingly hard to resist.

Bobby (bobbej) | 1375 comments I have 2 tatoos but no blue hair...yet. One is the Hawaiian flag on my calf and a sunrise-sunset on my ankle. My oldest daughter bought both sessions for me. Might do one more.

Also, are Hearts big in Hawaii?

message 2298: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) You weren't insulting me by calling me American were you Tim?? ;D

And yes, tattoos are very big in North America. I work in a city of 35,000 and we have at least 6 tattoo shops. So if a girl wants to make a statement she has to go big, thus I have both arms and my back done. I highly recommend getting lots Tim, it's addictive.

message 2299: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Bryan | 305 comments Very nice!

message 2300: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) Bobby, you don't need blue hair. The hippy ponytail is the perfect look for you. :)

My sister bought my first tattoo for me for my 24th birthday. I think I went a little bigger than she planned on paying for but I love it.
