Yes, that is me :)

I have a 'Blogger' account. When I go to the Blogger Dashboard I see my picture, name and all the blogs I follow. I can add to my follow list by putting the URL in the add box. It also seems to add them automatically to my follow if I'm signed in when I subscribe from the blog page.

oh. hehe. I thought you thinking of starting a blog."

I don't even know what most of them are.lols

You don't have to be a part of any of these to get a 'live bookmark'. Which you can also do by subscribing on the blog page but pick ATOM. It will automatically add it to you bookmarks and then when you hover over the bookmark you can see if there are any new posts.

Now the pressure is on to think of interesting ramblings on history. YIKES.
Although, I think if I scroll back in this thread to when I posted my blog link Dawn did make some requests for era. lol.
Now I have to decide how many blog posts a week are appropriate. I was thinking two a week...plus whatever book reviews I do.

What's the saying?
Jack of all trades, master of none
I think that sums us all up. ;)

(of course I had to google it to see what it was..:)..)

If you put yours in latin....hic ad ceruisiam mecum et occasionibus adepto sh#tfaced....it comes out pretty good. :)

As I initially set the blog up to be connected at the hip to this group, I am glad I am able to add links like that.

hahaha. Probably!

They don't often have straight historical fiction as freebies, but this looks good.
Treason

Lol. Pass. It is hard enough work being a non author.!

There is a freebie thread?

Ahhhh. I so rarely go into the author's section that I didn't realize that was there.
Book has been added. :)

I wonder if I should wit to read them until I have seen the movie?

(I apologise for the lack of contractions, but my computer went French on me and I do not know where my apostrophe is now...time for a reboot...)

Coincidentally though, as in funny you should bring it up, I was thinking of maybe including it in an upcoming Group Read poll (shhh..secret). This would make me reread it if it won and I think I would like to give it another try as Viking hist fic is hard enough to come by and I WANT to WANT to read the other two books in the series only I don't want to because I didn't like book one. :/ A reader's dilemma.

Just start out with the next. If you don't like it you can always stop. I felt that way about the Bernard Cornwell Uthred series--I forget the names of the books. I didn't like the first one but they got better as they went.

If I decide to put it in an upcoming Group Read Poll I will definitely reread it. If it loses the poll I will hunt for a synopsis. :)

I like to read the book before the movie, as the books are often better and sometimes makes the film easier to follow. I like this series and will be interested to see if they do a good job of the films.

These words should be inscribed on marble at the entrance of each, and all, libraries!!

In the current book you're reading, there is usually some reference to what happened in the previous book or books in the series. The trick is for the author to strike the right balance of info to give--not too much, not too little.

Is anyone else bothered by an author's inconsistent timeline in a series? I'm reading the Maureen Ash Templar series, and in book 2 an incident clearly happened in the winter (snow & cold), but in the beginning of book 3 she refers back to that incident as happening in the summer. (And now you'll all have to read those 2 books to see what I'm talking about...lol!)
