Sounds like the men in your family carry the gene like the men in my hubby'..."
Actually, two different sides of the family! The grandfather that had it was my mothers father. No other known cancers of any kind in my family. All my great and great great grandparents died peacefully of old age! I think one had a stroke...

yesterday I mentioned the challenge we're having in January. To go back through every group read we have ever had and see if you can find one, or more, to read that you had missed joining ..."
Awesome! Thanks for all the hard work Terri, especially with all you have going on!

That sounds positive! Good you did the course after all. I am the same as you. I haven't written for a few years, but when I do write I write for myself and don't care if anybody sees it, or if it gets published. When I write, I write to get a story and some characters out of my head for the sheer fun of it.

You're welcome. :) It did my head in at first, because I was using the laptop touchpad to go back and forth, highlight, copy paste etc... once I plugged in the wireless mouse and used that instead it was a breeze.

Have got to see their Christmas Show, live, a couple of times. Spectacular!!"
Agreed, we went this year and were about 5 rows back

I hope you, Mr Terri and the farm all come through the health glitch fine. I am sure you will, the Warfarin care programs are pretty good these days. And I work in a medical lab, so I actually have pretty good faith in QLD healthcare.

I've lucked out this year with only having to work 3 days between the 24th and 5th.

Maybe I can catch up on my reading :)

I've already used up my meager amount of vacation time so I couldn't book any more off but the office is closed for the three I am working so I'll be able to work in peace for once!
I work for a local/municipal government myself. You have those in the States right?? Or are they county governments??

There is also the state level gov't

So that means that County government is like our Regional Districts, they do the same with unincorporated areas too.
For countries so close together it does seem like we should know more about each other but I'm always figuring out something I didn't know before. :)

levels of gov't in the US from the one nearest to the citizen to the furthest

Eek! Good luck!
My roommate took her dog to see Santa today.

Sorry to hear about your husband, Terri. I hope he'll get well soon.

Thanks, mate. He found this cool App for his iPad too. That can follow his Warfarin progress. It's called INR Plus.
I always find it amazing that he gets blood drawn once a week and he has the results that same day.
His Doctor has also done DVT courses too, so he's up to date on all the latest dvt stuff.
I think you are right about QLD healthcare. They are fairly good.

Do kids still sit on Santa's knee in the US? They are talking about bringing in a law to say kids can no longer sit on Santa's knee over here.
I'm kind of okay with that. I have alwasy thought it was creepy. And so do a lot of kids!
Kids have always wanted to see Santa and get close, but as soon as they are told to sit on his knee for a photo they have a nervous breakdown. :)
(obviously not all kids do this. Common though)

OMG. That's so cute!"
Which bit....?

Oh, yes they still do and the toddlers for the most part don't want any part of it. I haven't heard of any movement to ban it here, I might be wrong though.
We had our 2 grandkids over to help decorate the tree, bake cookies and wrap caramels last night - their excitement (esp the 4 yr old) helps this old(er) man remember the excitement and spirit of Christmas :)

At the age of three I screamed the roof off the shopping mall when my mum tried to put me on Santa's knee.

Finished Xmas shopping on Sunday. All presents now wrapped and under the tree.
Next thing I'll be working on is all the sweets I cook for Christmas Day.

I had not seen the latest news.
For those who have not seen it either.

I think he meant Prime Minister. :p

This really worries me.

Though my family was more into Robert Munsch and Allen Morgan, or I guess I should say that's who my Mom liked so that's what she bought us!

Get your flu shot! I didn't, and guess what?!

More time to watch movies? (Albeit through a the thin haze left my flu medicines) ;-)
