LOL...I'm afraid to go there. Well, I did see the first movie and have read the first book. Personally I...eh...don't like it. I mean, I know that you guys like it and I respect that. But, I'm sorry I just don't like it.

Well, besides the whole sparkling in the sun thing there were a number of things that I didn't like about it. I could list them, but I don't want to.

I actually read somewhere that some of the fans of the book complained about the sparkling scene in the first movie. They said they thought it looked like he was just wearing too much body glitter or something like that. LOL.

I had a feeling that someone was going to say that. I feel that I gave it a fair shot by atleast reading the first one. I mean I've met people who say they don't like it without even reading any of them!

Kindle Daily Deal: Dracula's Guest: A Connoisseur's Collection of Victorian Vampire Stories ($1.99)
Before Twilight, vampires haunted popular culture around the world in the nineteenth century. In Dracula’s Guest, Michael Sims gathers the best vampire stories of the Victorian era, a collection that highlights their cultural variety. Sims rounds out the anthology with a chapter omitted from Bram Stoker's legendary 1897 novel, Dracula.

Dan, This is probably more to your liking than Twilight :)

I have to thank Twilight too! I dont hate Twilight i think there is definately ALOT of cheese in the story and think there are many things that could have been better.....but honestly (and i know it may put me in the freak category here) but i have read the series 4 times...and i have them in audio too and have listened to them in my vehicle like 3 or 4 times....so really if a person has gone through this series 7 to 8 times since the first movie came out its not that bad! Its easy to pick out the bad things and bash them but ill go with the good!!!
A couple who can come through impossible situations and have their faith and love for each other tested at every corner is amazing! Also, at such a young age to have 2 love interests and have to pick forever and pick right....yes i said right! Edward and Bella belong together...yes i said it! Then to always see the good eventhough there is so much bad in the world. Yes im a twilight fan.....its just humerous to me that things like sparkly vampires....but i have to say i wish Meyer would do that Midnight sun series to its full extent......Edawrd is so complicated and it brought the dark side to the story which i really did like!

I definitely agree with your comment about Midnight Sun. There was so much going on with Edward that noone knew about. Edward plots ways to kill everyone in Bio class just so he could drink Bella, how he rages against Mike Newton and wants to punch him through the wall...but also the sweet stuff too like how he saves the bottle cap from Bella's drink at lunch or how he arranges for Eric and Angela to get together. If only Meyer would finish this she would win millions of hearts all over again.

If you notice, I have just changed our profile image(hope that's okay Tiff and Rayna). It's a painting. The title of the painting is, "The Vampire". It was painted by Edvard Munch, the same artist who painted "The Scream". I've actually seen the original in The Met in New York. Many have different theories about the meaning of the painting. I've read that it's about vampires! As you can see, it looks like a red haired woman is biting a man on the neck. Interpret as you will!

Can you give us a hint as to what type of book...or plot?

Caressed by Night
This series is an excellent Historical Vampire read that i fell in love with! I had to review Caressed by Moonlight for NRR and i enjoyed it greatly! Amanda is a member of Vamps-R-Us and she is giving us a copy to contest off.....we will tie it in to her book release at then end of this month when this book comes out!
put your thinking caps on....i also put a link to my review of this book so you can get more of an idea about the story.....also this contest will be open to MODS as well!
Lets get some good ideas going here and really do a good job for Amanda!

1. A diamante poem contrasting witches and vampires (I can supply the template... it's a pretty simple 7 line poem)...
2. Or perhaps put your favorite vamp in late 1800's/ early turn of the century; what would he be doing?
3. Post a picture of a 19th century vamp (or your favorite vamp) to get entered into a random drawing.
4. Or perhaps post an excerpt from the book that describes Dorian and post a picture of someone (actor/model) who they think best portrays him. We could let Amanda choose the winner.
Just a few...yes...some are lame English teacher assignments.
Okay girls, sorry, I'm here now. LOL. Tell me what I can do to help out with this contest thing. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around it though. LOL.
Me too! Catching up with my phone just plain sux!!!! Battery is about to die, y am I surprised, so I'll b back on later. I like the poetry one. ;-) wonder if I can set up poles using my phone....hmm....

We will launch the contest on the release date which is next week so lets get some solid ideas going here!

I just posted a new poll for Tohr's HEA and sent out a notice so hopefully that may get some nmore discussion and excitement going.
