I just finished listening to Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson . I LOVED it, now I want to buy the hardcover version though so I can reference all the road trip playlists :). Plus, it's just that good... I want it on my bookshelf.

Next, I think I'm going to listen to Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu . I've heard great things about the audio version of this book. I can't wait!

I have the audiobook for Legend. I think that will be my Feb or March audiobook.

I'm looking forward to your review of Unearthy. It's been on my list for a while. I plan to get the Jan link up posted ASAP.

Jessi (otherwhereco) | 3 comments Legend was great! My review of it is up here as well as on my blog. I need to add to the linky next. I am almost done with Paper Towns (love love love) and a GREAT audiobook.

Valerie (stuckinbooks) | 3 comments I have the audio book for Legend but it's not up next. I'm listening to Shut Out. Don't know if it's the narrator or the books but man is the lead winny! Gonna push through it.

I've been wanting to read Shut Out... thanks for letting me know about the narrator. I think I'll stick to the print version... or at least listen to a sample somewhere first!

Jodi | 1 comments I'm listening to Graceling. I'd tried reading the physical book twice in the past year, but couldn't get into it for a reason I cannot explain. Then the wonderful Kellee mentioned the audio had music and I decided to try it. The audio is fantastic. It feels like listening to a stage play with a film score.

Yes, I totally agree! I really liked Graceling, but I was disappointed that I didn't LOVE it like most people do. I think I heard too much hype beforehand.

If you listened to Cinder in January, then please post your review in the January linky. You can always find the monthly linkup post by going to the main challenge pape on A Book and a Latte and clicking on "Monthly Link Up" at the top of the page (under the graphic). Remember, only reviews submitted to the linky count toward prizes/giveaways!

I can't wait to read or listen to Cinder!
Here is the January linky post: http://www.bookandlatte.com/2012/01/2...

Valerie (stuckinbooks) | 3 comments Finished Shut Out. Ended up liking the book even though Lissa drove me nuts for the first half. My review will post later this week and I'll make sure and link it.

Now I'm listening to Firelight. Really like both the book and the narrator.

Valerie, Firelight has been on my TBR for so long (if that is the first in the series). Can't wait to read your reviews.

message 14: by Michael (Mai) (new)

Michael (Mai) (maiinwonderland) So far I've listened to: If I Stay by Gayle Forman, Split by Swati Avasthi, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stehpanie Meyer, and Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen.

A lot right? I'm pretty proud. Thank goodness I can listen to audiobooks at work :D

Up next is Willow by Julia Hoban

WOW! That is awesome, I'm jealous you have so much time to listen. I can't wait to see some your reviews!

message 16: by Michael (Mai) (new)

Michael (Mai) (maiinwonderland) :D I just got the internet back so I really need to write my reviews. I listened to If I Stay all in one day because I was unpacking. (I moved into a new apartment)

I LOVED If I Stay and Where She Went. I like the second one even more, it's one of my favorite books!

message 18: by Michael (Mai) (new)

Michael (Mai) (maiinwonderland) Damn I'm going to have to get ahold of that one soon.

message 19: by Patricia (new)

Patricia (Patricia's Particularity) (patriciajl) | 1 comments I just finished listening to I am Number Four and Infinity. I am about to start This Lullaby tonight.

message 20: by Michael (Mai) (new)

Michael (Mai) (maiinwonderland) I watched part of the movie of I Am Number Four and turned it off because I thought it was dumb. Is the book better?

message 21: by Michael (Mai) (new)

Michael (Mai) (maiinwonderland) I just finished Willow by Julia Hoban. I'm not going to recommend it even though so many people loved it because I didn't care for it or the narrator.

I haven't read the book so I have no idea, but I did like the movie for what it was :).

Oooh, thanks for letting us know, and for the warning. I hope you review it. Also, I'd like to look up the narrator and maybe listen to a snippet to see what you mean (and if I agree).

message 24: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (otherwhereco) | 3 comments Well I finished Graceling and totally got a kick out of the full cast they had for the audiobook. The music interludes reminded me of Final Fantasy VII which gave a whole different viewpoint to the book. I really ended up enjoying it! My review is up now, on both your site, mine and on goodreads.

I am almost done with Die for Me. I <3 Paris!!

Graceling is one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened too. I love that it's seriously a production with a full cast of narrators, music, and everything. I think I heard too much hype about it before I listened to it and I was sad that I wasn't completely blown away like most people. I still loved it though. I need to read Fire soon, so I can read Bitterblue that I picked up at ALAMW!

Michael (Mai) (maiinwonderland) I'm half way through the 12 book challenge already! I just finished The Giver by Lois Lowry. I really recommend it. The narration was average but also pretty cool because Ron Rifkin was the narrator. But read it or listen to it, I definitely recommend it.

message 28: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (stuckinbooks) | 3 comments Okay I'm going to finish the Vampire Academy series next. I've listened to book one and two - and I'm going to finish this series! YAY

That is awesome! Keep going :). I've been wondering if I should add different levels for the challenge. What do you think? I listen to a bunch of audiobooks too, but don't review them all...

message 31: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) So far in January -
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black - Christine Lakin narrated and she was really good. I think I enjoyed the book far more than I would have in print.
Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis - Cassandra Campbell narrated. She MADE that story with her flat narration - it was a stark, bleak story and she did it expertly.
These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) by Amie Kaufman - Cynthia Holloway, Johnathan McClain, and Sarge Anton. WOW - just wow! What a book and what voice acting! What a pleasure.
Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows - Katherine Taub. The book was ok, maybe better for the narration, but I didn't like it much. Meh. She was average.
A Beautiful Wedding (Beautiful, #2.5) by Jamie McGuire - Emma Galvin and Zachary Webber. Well, Emma Galvin - what can you say? She embodied Tris and she's a wonderful Abby. And Zachary Webber is a newcomer (he's the son of Tammara Webber who wrote Easy) and he's really good. Overall they captured Abby and Travis wonderfully.
3 59 by Gretchen McNeil - Tavia Gilbert. Wonderfully done. The thing about this one is that it's about alternate universes, so she had to do 2 versions of the same character. She voice-acted them really well.
Tandem (Many-Worlds, #1) by Anna Jarzab - Amanda Dolan. She was ok. Not spectacular but I found the book enjoyable. It was decidedly voice acting and not narration, which was good.
Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy, #1) by Anna Banks - Rebecca Gibel. Very good. Nice voice-acting, definitely worth a listen if you like mermaids. Had me laughing out loud.

message 32: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) Right now -
Everneath (Everneath, #1) by Brodi Ashton - Amy Rubinate. A re-read for me. I have switched to print because I just can't take Rubinate's breathy narration. And it is narration. I don't think she was capturing the characters at all; it's the writing that makes this book. If anything, she detracts from the story.
Crewel (Crewel World, #1) by Gennifer Albin - Amanda Dolan. I go hot and cold on Amanda Dolan, but here she's pretty good. I've switched to print but not because of her. It's a re-read for me and I just needed to get thru it faster.

I liked Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu - Mariel Stern & Stephen Kaplan. I wasn't sure at first about Kaplan doing Day. But I think in the end, I loved him. Kaplan feels like he's just reading at first, but I got used to him. Overall, I think Day could have been better cast, but I loved this series so much that I forgave that. The whole series is really good.
