Alison | 4 comments Hi All-

I am loving all the free ebooks available on Goodreads but I prefer to read on my Nook than on my computer. For the downloadable e-books, it is no problem...I have downloaded and gone through Calibre to get them onto my Nook but I don't know how to deal with the read only ebooks...is there a way to read them on my Nook rather than my computer? And even better, is there a way for the Nook to keep track of where I am in them?

Thanks for any helps!

Alison

Deborah (dbartelt01) I am also wondering if calibre works on IPad . My computer crashed and all I have is It right now.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) Have you tried downloading to adobe digital editions first? Then you can get them onto calibre and onto your nook or you can just sideload them directly to your nook. I'm pretty sure that nook will keep track of where you are whether the book is sideloaded or not.

Alison | 4 comments How do I download to adobe digital editions? It seems like I either have the choice to download ebook or just read it on the computer...when it is read ebook, I don't know how to download it to any program..it is not that the book is in the wrong form to put into Calibre as far as I can tell as much as I can not download at all. I don't care about the download/sharing aspect of things but just the reading would be easier on the Nook...

Alison

Thanks!

Alison

If the books aren't downloadable, I don't think there's any way to use your Nook to read them. You might be able to find them in downloadable format elsewhere, however. Try googling on the titles that you want to read.

Alison | 4 comments That is what I thought...I did find one of them on another site...it was linked to the other site as it appeared on goodreads so it was easy. No luck on the other one I tried...seems like it would be a great feature to add to the Goodreads App for the Nook.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Did you try opening one of the books from the website with the web browser on your Nook, and reading the book directly on the browser? I actually read a book online that way from another site. Of course, the battery drains faster if you're using the wi-fi than when it's turned off.

I'm not sure if GR will let you open the books on your Nook's web browser, but it's worth a shot if you have a full charge on the Nook and you have wi-fi access at home.

Victoria | 26 comments if you download Calibre to your home cp you can then down loan any format and the have calibre change it to work on your nook. I love it I can buy books any where and get them to work on my nook. Look into it.

Alison | 4 comments I have Calibre and use it all the time! I was asking about the books that can not be downloaded but just read...I would love to be able to read them on my Nook rather than my computer. I haven't tried just going to goodreads on the browser and reading that way but that does seem to be the only option from what I can tell for these books.
