2012 Goodreads Challenge
I have now completed 158 of 175. That is 90% or 66 books (38%) ahead of schedule. According to Goodreads I have read 47882 pages but I haven't counted them to confirm this. I will probably increase my goal in the next few weeks.
I had set my goal at 30 at the start of the year, it is now moved up to 50. This most likely change.
Lawrence wrote: "Are you planning to increase your goal once you reach 52 books?"Yeah. I'm just not sure what to increase it too yet. I've never read this much so fast before.
You have read 96 books toward your goal of 116 books. 96 of 116 (83%)
Awesome, you're 33 books (28%) ahead of schedule!
However many I read this year will become next year's goal. 116 was what I achieved last year.
Yes! I am at 43 of 60. It took me a few years to hit 50 so I upped my goal. Wish I read faster . . .
You have read 34 books toward your goal of 55 books. 34 of 55 (62%)
Great work, you're 4 books (6%) ahead.

I feel great with how I am progressing. I still have a few door-stoppers ahead of me, but I feel good about meeting my goal. I doubt very seriously if I increase if I surpass it. I also doubt if I will increase it for next year. I have really forced myself to slow down and enjoy my reads.
Good luck, everyone and Happy Reading. :)
You have read 47 books toward your goal of 65 books. 47 of 65 (72%)

I am now at 166 of 175. That is 66 books ahead but now that the Olympics have started, my tempo will slow down dramatically.
August Check-in: You have read 96 books toward your goal of 150 books.

Thanks to some downtime at work I finally managed to get back on track.

I'm a little concerned I'm not going to meet my goal this year. Last year I was aiming for 300 and ended up with 370, so I thought I'd aim higher this year and go for 365, but so far I've only read 205 books of that goal, which at my current pace puts me 10 books (3%) behind. :-(
Only! I'm at 25 and that includes a few short stories and some books that I started last year but put aside. I don't think you need to feel bad about reading 205 Joseph... that's still about one a day!
I started off with a goal of 50 books, but made that in June so I upped it to 100. I'm currently at 66/100
September check in: You have read 115 books toward your goal of 150 books.
115 of 150 (77%)
Great work, you're 12 books (8%) ahead.
I have read 230 books toward my goal of 365 books (63%).
At my current pace, I don't think I have much change of reaching my goal this year. I'm really tempted to lower my goal to one I believe I can reach. Think I should?

Yes, it is far wiser to set an attainable goal than an impossible one. Reading should always be a pleasure and never a chore. I recently increased my goal from 175 to 200. I have now read 181 and hope to attain my new goal.
You have read 46 books toward your goal of 55 books. 46 of 55 (84%)

I was a slacker this summer so I fell way behind....You have read 30 books toward your goal of 100 books. At your current pace, you're 42 books (43%) behind.
I finished a 30 book challenge this evening, though not really as my reading has included a few short stories and a few other books that I'd started reading before the start of the year. I'm not taking it very seriously though, I usually shy away from these types of challenge. I still have a 'read these books in 2012' thing going on though, I've five books left in my list that I want to read this year, though I'm not sure I'll finish Dragonflies and I really want to read some of Ted Benton's book on Grasshoppers and Crickets before I meet him in October:
I set my goal at 125 this year; have read 98 books as of today, so I am 5% ahead of goal. I was slowed down when I read two 500+ page history books back to back......but I am rolling on now.
My challenge is set to 30, and so far I've got 16. Goodreads claims I'm behind, butI think this is doable, since there's so much I want to read.

My September reading slowed WAYYYY down, probably due to all the time I'm forced to spend studying now. Can't wait for this semester to be over.
Status: You have read 48 books toward your goal of 55 books.

Awesome, you're 7 books (12%) ahead of schedule! ...have been trying to stay on track with about 6 books per month. :)
I lowered my goal from 365 to 250. Since buying a house, my reading time has really dropped. If I had known that was going to happen, I would have stuck with the apartment. ;-)
Anyway, I'm currently at: 250 of 300 (83%), 22 books (7%) ahead.

Congrats! You have completed your goal of reading 70 books for the 2012 Reading Challenge!I didn't manage to complete the challenge last year, fell short by a couple of books. Set the same goal this year and managed to complete it, although looking at the stats page, it looks like I've read fewer pages this year than last.
I think the goal should be pages read, not books! Most of the books I read tend to range between 500 to 900 pages each. I like long, epic sagas! I have given up on setting a book reading goal. I just read every day and always have.
I hit my goal the other day 70 books, when the year started I think I had it at 40, but I kept on changing it higher. I am now 2 over it and we still have two months left. :)
