2012 Goodreads Challenge
I am at 9% right now. I will thank Alivia Anders for making her debut a short read. Boosted me up to being ahead of schedule...which will help when I get to those page bombs called
,
, and
.

I set my goal for 52 books this year and if I keep going at this pace I'll be reading more than that.
I count graphic novels and trades when they come out. But if I counted my comics I'd have a few thousand (I usually read at least 1,500 comics a year) I do keep a separate list for my comics just for my own personal records.
Well, of course I upped mine from 52 to 104, so much for not putting pressure on myself but the good news is I'm at 14% which is 5% ahead.
I've already reached the 23% mark of my 80 book mark. This may afford me the time to read some very thick books later in the year.
I'm currently @ 20% of my goal of 60 books. I'm 9% ahead with 12 books read - 6 books ahead of where I should be. My monthly goal is 5 so I've been doing exceptionally well with that. However; I expect to slow down a little in the next two weeks or so because I'm starting Steven King's 11/22/63 which is 800+ pages.
I'm falling behind a little, mostly because I've been sick with a superbug infection, which has wiped me out and makes me want to sleep all the time. I pick up my book to read, and after a few pages I nod off :(I think I will try to pick short, easier reads for the next little while.
My goal this year is for 52 (but I'm thinking about changing it to 60) and so far I've read 13 books.
I'm a book 'behind' at the moment. That will change as there are three books going all at once. Two will be finished soon. Some new titles 'on-order' include:
Waiting for Robert Capa: A Novel
&
By Night in Chile
Of course more to add to the list.
Two months down! How is everyone making it? I'm currently at 23 of 150 which puts me 2 books or 1% behind. February was not a good reading month for me. Only 9 books :(
I moved ahead over the last two days, but not sure how long that will hold out!! 2 ahead or 12% of my 60 book goal.
You have read 2 books toward your goal of 75 books.2 of 75 (3%)
At your current pace, you're 11 books (15%) behind.
You have read 12 books toward your goal of 55 books. 12 of 55 (22%)
Great work, you're 2 books (3%) ahead.
...chugging along :)
I managed to complete 50 books for 2011 but just barely, so I thought I'd challenge myself to the same number this year. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to reach 50, but pass or fail I'm just always trying to remember that I should be reading to enjoy myself, and not because I have to for the sake of racking up the number of books I've read :)
I've set my goal for 30 books this year, and so far my progress is lukewarm: I've "read" five books already, so I'm 17% on track. (Three were audio books, which, contrary to what some think, are pretty hard to get through because they take so much concentration. I don't know how many times I have to rewind when the book first starts. After a while, I get into them, though.) I'm so busy, and on top of that, I have a 1+ hour commute each way, so I have to find more time and energy to read.
Last year I read 76 books, so I challenged myself to 132 books this year. But I had some unexpected things that screwed up my reading progress. I've only read 17 books as of today. I may have to lower my challenge goal to an even 100 if I get further behind by Tax Day.
I don't have a goal, but I've read 44 books so far this year, on top of writing/reading/editing manuscripts. I guess I'll just aim low and say 100.
So starting of April I am at 31 of 150 books (21%). That's 6 books behind.... actually 7 today, of reaching my goal. Ugh Must. Find. More. Time. To. Read!!!! How is everyone else doing?

I'm glad someone else agrees!
I'm having a mega-reading year! I started the year with a goal of 80 books but soon increased it to 100. As of yesterday I am at 78 so I think I can safely re-increase my goal.
I've started this year conservatively with 20 book but have already expanded to 30 and am now at 37% of that. I will probably we adjusted the goal at least once more. Since you can't adjust which books the challenge counts graphic novel go in to the tally as well. Not sure if those should really count.
Status: You have read 17 books toward your goal of 55 books. 17 of 55 (31%)
Great work, you're 3 books (5%) ahead.
This has been a great reading year.:)
I have read 48 out of my 150 book challenge so I think I'm on track (maybe a little ahead). I'm reading a long one right now (The Instructions by Adam Levin) and a difficult but rewarding one (Cloud Atlas: A Novel by David Mitchell) so I've slowed up but it's worth it.
I'v read 87 books toward my goal of 365 books. At my current pace, I'm 7 books (2%) behind.
I'm not on the same pace I was last year and to me it seems the reason for that is I seem to be starting but not finishing a lot more books this year than I did last year. I figure if I'm about 75-100 pages into a book, usually about a third in, and the book is just not grabbing me that it's not worth finishing so I just put it aside and start another, but that means I've wasted an hour or so that I could have spent reading toward actually finishing a book.

So far, I've read 51 toward my goal of 125 books. That puts me 19 books (15%) ahead. I'll probably go over my stated goal, but I don't plan to change it. When I hit it, I'll just keep going and enjoying my reading.
I am at 38 of 150, so one book behind. Based upon the stack of books that I'm halfway (or more) through I'll be ahead in a week or two, giving me a bump while I read books 2 and 3 in A Song of Ice and Fire.
I've read 49 of 104 which puts me 22 books ahead. I really need to increase my goal. I blame my Kindle. I got it last November and I seem to read a lot more books now.
I've now read 81 of my predicted 100 books. I know I will have to increase my goal but I would hate to bite off more than I can chew.
I tried for 100 last year and got to 103 I think
so I'm doing 100 again, I feel its a good goal so far I'm at 40 books which is 40% (8% ahead)
I think I'll make it :)

Several books are on my list already for the year, just no specific order. The larger or more complex history works I want to read may slow down the pace.
We'll just have to see what happens.
