RLftCI: Currently reading 2012
I'm thinking something else must be going on with me, because I barely read any of it yesterday and still had strange-nightmarish dreams. Now that I think of it, I've been having strange dreams for about a week now. \Thanks, Kristi! Hubs and I went out yesterday and bought him several new outfits among other things LOL I think it's safe to say he'll be good and spoiled ;)
Heather, you read that at work all you want. I read while my class naps and you all know how I tend to read mostly romance books LOL
I don't blame you, Susan; I don't like books with Satanic stuff. Sounds like you need a light, fluffy read.
Judy wrote: "I think I'm going to have to revise my reading plans - I went to the library today - just to pick up the two books I had on hold...- and I left the library with 30 items!"LOL! I bet that was the max you could check out, right, Judy? LOL!
I'm trying to get through
and
but currently have a major headcold and reading makes my eyes water. I'll be lying low from the computer for a couple of days til it doesn't hurt my head.
I'm on an Eve and Roarke run, diving into Innocent in Death and I'm preparing myself for ubber tears.
I'm taking a break from fiction and reading
. I read Tuchman's
and really enjoyed it. So we'll see how this one works out.
I am just finishing up
- meh. I can see why it would make a good movie. The book spends a lot of time on his toubles with finances and his wife's illness and death, when - sorry to say - I wanted to hear about the animals.Loading the CDs of
onto my iPod/Touch as I type this. (Takes awhile.) While I was out running errands, and since I accidently wiped
from my iPod/Touch and I'm on the library "waitlist" again (**sigh**), I actually started over with
- just to get my Roarke fix, LOL!
Yeah, Judy, I liked
b/c I did it as a "buddy read". I'm finding some books are better for "br" than others. Kind of slow in parts lets others catch up, and allows time for dialogue among participants.
CaroB, I hope you feel better soon!Jyl22075, I have that Monica McCarty series on my shelf (imagine that LOL). My granddaughter always picks those books up to carry around the house. She has good taste ;0)
Honestly, I don't think I've read anything by her either. I was talking about the pretty eye candy on the covers ;0)
Oh, yes. My mistake. I read her MacLeods of Skye Trilogy; they were good. Well, lived up to the great covers. LOL!

~Megan~ wrote: "It's a standout in the series for me! The next several are stellar."Loving it very much, though I REALLY kick to punch some Roarke ass right now.
Oh I know....he was in my doghouse for a good long while. I must admit, though, it was reeeeally really nice to see that very vulnerable side to Eve. She always seems so hard to me, and I like it when she's more exposed like that. Plus, relationship trauma leads to some very awesome make-up lovin'.
He's a male jerk, Lisa Kay. All men, per Mavis have some jerk in them, just different degrees. He was very jerky in this one. lolMegan, I sorta feel like (view spoiler)
I don't know....I think Eve understood his viewpoint in the end. I thought it was kind of nice to see Roarke be a typical male for once, and not so absolutely perfect. She brings it up again in another book, but they kinda downplay it.
Now, don't you be forgetting to vote, lassies! There is surely a close horserace this month between the top two contenders - with the third closing in. The April BOM poll is a close one!
I reading
and actually glad that the series is ending. The Maccon magic is gone and I just want to snuggle up with Biffy and Lyall (not that they'd appreciate it).
LOL! Aww... I still need to read that one. I actually liked the last couple (what with my warped sense of humor). Is this really the end, Rameau?
Lisa Kay wrote: "LOL! Aww... I still need to read that one. I actually liked the last couple (what with my warped sense of humor). Is this really the end, Rameau?"That's the thing, my sense of humour doesn't translate well with English, most of the time. And no, I don't think that's the definite end. At least Gail Carriger's GR page lists two spin off series for Parasol Protectorate. One a prequel of sorts placed twenty years before Alexia Tarabotti's adventures and one who knows how many years after–- it's titled Prudence.

And yeah if you're not "into" that sort of thing, JD Robb's books can be a bit tough.
Heather I think you're perfectly normal to read it at work. Keep those pesky people away, talk about the truly gruesome scenes with delight. They'll veer away. ha ha!
Of course taking advice from a Criminology person who has a fascination with serial killers might not be the recommended way to go, but I think it's perfectly normal.
