@Elishia - Gemini not for you, huh? :( I can see that, though. It's definitely not for everyone. You should to with Chase in Shadow by Amy Lane . Bet you'll like that one.

Just finished Victorious Star (Interstellar Service & Discipline, #1) by Morgan Hawke . Great sci-fi erotica! The world she created was intricate and seamless...and hot. *fans self* I'll be reading the next one very soon. This morning I read a quick short The Break In by Sloan Parker . Only 14 pages, and I connected more with the protag in this story, than I do in most books! I even got chest-squeezing-angst-feeling at one point. Yeah...in 14 pages. LOL Starting on Handcuffs and Leather (Rawlings Men, #1) by Kim Dare now. It's a good start so far.

No. I didn't like the way it was written as well which didn't help. I liked the characters tough.

Glad you enjoyed it, ShoSho! It's hard to find a short with any real depth. I was plesantly surprised. :)

Yeah, it took me awhile to get used to the first person present tense (I'm usually not a fan), but I liked being in Gent's head, so I was able to let it go. :)

The Burn looks like something I should check out. Creepy and weird actually sound good to me! LOL

Lisa Jo (lisajo85) | 35 comments Okay, I'm trying On Dublin Street by Samantha Young and I just can't get into it!

I'm not loving the characters. The fact that I'm not too crazy about 1st person doesn't help either.

Everyone and their uncle has told me this is a great read...I'm about 70 pages in right now. To anyone else out there that has read it - should I keep going? Is it just a slow start? I'm thinking about putting it aside for a while and starting something else.

That's a bummer you can't get into :( I absolutely loved this book and everyone I've recommended it to has loved and couldn't put it down. It's not a series so it does end which is sometimes a good thing. Maybe you don't like how grumpy/pessimistic the main character is?? She doesn't change much throughout but I just fell in love with Braden. I love the whole accent thing he had going on. I don't know why because the two are completely different but did you ever see Leap Year w/ Amy Adams? Braden reminds me of the main character, Declan, in that movie - maybe watching it will inspire you??

Terab (fiddylover) | 54 comments So read half of Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno #2) by Sylvain Reynard this weekend. It's taking me forever, it's really slow but I'm bound a determined to finally finish it. I want to start My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea M. Cameron and Fate (Fate #1) by Elizabeth Reyes

Alright, you got me. I LOVE Leap Year so I will continue on keeping that visual in mind! :-)

You're right...I don't like the main character too much. She does seem a little rough around the edges. I'll read a little bit further and see if it picks up for me.

It's getting weirder and creepier !!! I'm at 53% and I don't see where it's going and how it's going to end well!! I'll let you know when I'm finished.

I read Gabriel's Inferno and really liked it but I don't feel like reading Gabriel's rapture .Their story finished for me with the first book.

message 1625: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I complained in my status update that it was slow and nothing was happening. Shosho pointed out that nothing happens until she grows up (she's 14 or 15 when it starts). She better grow up soon, I'm bored.

message 1626: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments I kept wondering why she was talking like she was a baby but was told after that she was actually young in it.

message 1627: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) Yes, the first part of that book is suuuuuuuuuuuper slow. It does get better. The second book is one of my favorite Kleypas books!

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Megan, I actually went looking for your review on this one cause I know it turns into a triangle. LOL I love LK and even though it's slow, I'm enjoying it.

Welcome to the club :) I prefer to enjoy the weather than to read, it's finally raining after 80 days or so, is it raining there too?

message 1639: by [deleted user] (new)

Just started Fallen Star (Interstellar Service & Discipline, #2) by Morgan Hawke . The first book was pretty good. People have told me this one is even better. *fingers crossed*

message 1640: by Lina (new)

I was finally able to finish Sandman Slim (Sandman Slim, #1) by Richard Kadrey . I liked it but I felt like it lacked something that kept it from becoming the awesome book it could have been. It has sooo many great elements but I feel like it needed something to pull it all together. I'm definitely going to read Book 2 because I've heard Book 1 is the weakest and the series gets better as it goes.
