Heartbroken and lonely, Billy’s been breaking into his ex-lover’s apartment every Friday night for a little solo sex in the bed they used to share. One night he almost gets caught. Now he has only seconds to decide if he should stay or run from the most erotic encounter of his life—and maybe a chance at love again.

I enjoyed More Than Just a Good Book, so I went into this story with high expectations. Generally, I prefer a little plot with my erotica, but there are times I can enjoy an erotic story that has well-written sex scenes and allows me to connect with the characters.
From the start, The Break In did not settle well with me. Billy regularly breaks into his ex-lover’s house, wears his ex-lover’s clothes, and jerks off in his bed. This goes on until one day Doug and his lover come home early from dinner and Billy is discovered.
Billy is not your garden-variety stalker. There is more to this story which I won’t reveal here, not to spoil what little plot there is. No matter the circumstances, Billy’s odd behavior in the beginning was downright creepy and I was unable to connect with him in any way. After he was discovered, I was similarly detached from the other characters, found their behavior unbelievable and the erotic parts dull and uninspiring.
The whole idea of breaking into a former lover's place to lie in his bed while he is out is really funny. As Sloan says, this short story was inspired by a song, but she definitely gave this version her very own, and very naughty personal twist. Not to mention the light humor that morphs into sadness when Billy tumbles into the apartment one fateful Friday that will change everything. The feelings of regret and wishing to make things undone permeate Billy's thinking, and, never mind what he did to mess up his relationship, he definitely wants what he had back, and I felt for Billy.
What follows as Doug and Roger come back unexpectedly early is hilarious, hot, and just a little bit creepy at the same time. Without time left to escape, Billy ends up hiding under the bed, the description of which is the funny part. The two men kissing and getting ready to make love is hot, and the fact they don’t seem to know there is someone under the bed (who would even suspect?) is just a bit creepy. However, in an ingenious stroke of romantic inspiration Sloan solves it all and made me breathe a sigh of relief. What a great ride!
If you like stories that are as hot and funny as they are romantic, if you appreciate a few twists here and there and like the totally unexpected, and if you're looking for a short, satisfying read with just enough angst to get you going, then I can definitely recommend this free story.
The first half was a 1 star, and the second half was a 3 star, so I averaged it. I actually almost stopped reading partway through, besides being creepy I was also really embarrassed for Billy (and I don't deal with mine or other peoples embarrassment well). But I forged on. The twist was interesting and made a happy ending easier. Although I have to admit, I lost some sympathy for Billy when I found out what actually happened to ruin their previous happiness Cute ending, I just had to skim the middle (out of both boredom and embarrassment, and I didn't feel any true connection with them.
Damn if this one isn't good. The setup is beautiful. The entire thing is short and as such, the setup is a bit brief, but still wonderfully worked. It reminded me a bit of the way Tale of Two Cities is set up, actually.
This is one of those feel-good stories, too. The emotions come through beautifully and although I do take some offense at the names (I'm sorry, but the author chose 2.5 of my least favorite guy names [even Roger's a bit iffy] so xe deserves all the scorn xe gets. )
Kudos, though, because it doesn't have pages and pages of gratuitous sex. I'm sorry, but sex scenes can only last so long so there's really no need to have it span 2-3 pages of excruciating detail. It's okay. I don't need to know every single little bit of the mechanics =_= But this one was nice. I mean, the sex was raunchy, but it still was meaningful, so yeah.
Inspired by Alanis Morissette's "Your House" (such a stalker song that is, IMHO) this one offers a smart twist. At first, it is quite creepy how Billy breaks into his ex's house, touching his things, wearing his clothes, his tie, oh jeez!! I'm quite uncomfortable at first, imagining the scene. Creepy creepy!
But like I said, there's a twist. I find it to be satisfying even if the conclusion (). Billy's reason for the break-up (and stay away) is quite heartbreaking...
This wasn't my favorite of Sloan Parker's short stories, but I could definitely feel the honest, raw love that existed between the trio.
I was confused during the beginning, not fully understanding whose house Billy was breaking in to and then why he was sent to prison, which was never fully explained. There was just too much left open for me.
A short story that was originally published via my website. It's now available at Amazon and other retailers.
Billy’s been breaking into his ex-lover’s apartment every Friday night for a little solo sex in the bed they used to share. One night he almost gets caught before he has a chance to finish his usual routine and climb back out the window. Now he has only seconds to decide if he should hide and end up watching his ex have sex or run from the most erotic encounter of his life -- and maybe a chance at love again.
Another freebie from ARe. I usually enjoy Sloan Parker stories, and this one was no exception. This is the story of Billy, who takes to sleeping in his ex-lovers bed to lose himself in the closeness that they once had...I did find that a little creepy I admit, and the taking their clothes and getting off in them...also weird...but there is more to the story than meets the eye, and I'll leave you to read the book to discover what that is. Not a bad little read.
What a clever way of telling the story! Quite pleased with this.
I started the book believing Billy was reminiscing about his former lover, who had moved on. That he couldn't forget him, despite having broken up. So he had resorted to breaking in before the couple came home. What a surprise it was to discover that things weren't quite as I had imagined them. They were better.
Very cute story full of details and amazing character connection. I was suprised the impact made in this story with it being so short but it was a good suprised. I was kind of creeped out at the start of the book but that just added to the emotional impact. Very good read.
I don't read stories about poly relationships much as they're often badly handled but this was perfect. The scenario I imagined in the beginning was completely off and I loved the surprise. The men coming together again was tender and sweet and I admit that tears did fall. Wonderfully done.

I remember reading this short (before I started rating and reviewing) and really enjoying the premise and the characters. Now I'm going to have to re read it. No hardship there :)
This story is full of so many revealing surprises -wrapped in a few pages.
Billy spent every Friday, breaking into the apartment he once shared with his ex. Afraid to Be caught, but not wanting to let go. Not yet anyway. One choice cost him the man he loved - or so he thought.
Turns out, Billy was loved by two; Roger and Doug. All this time, Billy thought he got away with sneaking in. Well, let's just say, the road to love and rediscovery, was well worth getting caught.
Hot, short and sweet! A well done blending of three.
Well written. At first you think he breaks in because he misses his old lover after a bad breakup. You find out when Roger and Douglas come home early, that Billy was in a trio with them both. And misses them both. I will not spoil this...just want to say Love Forgives All!!
This free short starts with Billy, who sneaks into his ex-lover’s apartment when he’s out for dinner with his current live-in and he wears his lover’s clothes and masturbates in their bed, then sneaks out again. He still loves his ex, but feels he did something so horrible that there is no way to fix things, so contents himself with being close this way, knowing that eventually he’ll get over it.
However this Friday something goes wrong. The men arrive back home while he’s still there, and with no time to escape he hides under the bed, mortified, and a bit turned on, to know they will be having sex right over top of his hiding place. At this point I was feeling very awkward and squicked out a bit. He really seemed kind of stalker creepy, and being trapped in the room with them, well, I just couldn’t find a way out of this one that wouldn’t be really weird and porno-esque.
However, I’m not going to go into a lot of detail, because I think finding how that works out is part of the joy of this story. Yes, he’s discovered, and it seems his weekly forays have not gone unnoticed by the other men who confront him then and there. What I appreciated most about this story was the layers it held. You think you know the facts, and then something else is revealed, and you are sure you now know the whole story, oh wait, there’s some other little piece of information you are given. It just keeps going and going until you are stripped down to the real story, not Billy’s interpretation of things which is whose point of view you are in.
I went from feeling awkward and creepy about the whole set-up, to a warm fuzzy when I got to the very satisfying conclusion. I liked how my emotions and feelings changed over the course of the short story, that I could start out feeling one way and then end up at the other end of the spectrum. So if you’re in the mood for a hot, it is hot, but sweet story with a lot of heart, it’s a great choice. And of course it’s free, so you really have nothing to lose giving this one a try.
Even though the story started off kind of perverted, I thought it was brilliant. Even with how short it was, it had something to it, something that some books ten times it’s length don’t have.
Just brilliant though. Will defo be reading more of Sloan Parker’s books.
I liked this a lot. Billy's been returning on the sly to his former lovers' home to relish in the physical memories of his lovers, their cologne, clothes, and bed. His sorrow is close to the skin as he feels unworthy of being with his lovers, Doug and Roger, since he went to prison and in his mind failed them. But love has a way of bringing you home, no matter what. The feelings Billy holds within are so strong they lead out of the pages at you. I cried, I smiled, I loved with them. A thoroughly enjoyable short read.
Great little short story! This was my first read of Sloan Parker's and I loved it. I'll definitly be reading more of her work. I feel this story was very well written. Nineteen pages and I connected with it more completely than I do a lot of novels and novellas. It's got sexy characters you can connect with, sizzling romance, and a smoking sex scene. I would love to read more about these three men.
I thought this book was M/M, but I was completely wrong!!!! It's M/M/M!!! D: i'm really not a fan of male threesomes. But the summary said "ex-lover's" not "ex-lovers'". That gave me quite a shock.
And It's a short story, so obviously, majority of the story is about sex. It's really not my cup of tea thought so I guess I really didnt like it.
This is my first book written by Sloane Parker but I have high expectations from her other books. Looking forward to reading them in the future.
